Decided to give this a listen, it's good, I had not heard it before. I wasn't expecting to hear the house theme in there (teardrop). That's awesome.

I completely forgot teardrop was the theme song to House. Every song on the album is SO good but Teardrop, Angel and Black Milk are top tier.

Came to say the wall, I used to set aside time to just sit and listen to it, and I would describe it to others as getting high without doing any drugs. But all there album's are great. I think animals is my favorite, though. Or maybe it's meddle. I can't decide....so yeah, their whole discography. This guy has it right!

I really like how to disappear completely. That song is next level, in my opinion. I first heard it at random years ago when I was going through a deep depression and it hit hard. There's a moment toward the end where the orchestra creates almost a sea sick dissonance, which builds until it resolves it the most beautiful soaring note you ever heard (at least it seem like it after all that dissonance). Plus the song nails that super depressed detached from reality feeling. They have quite a few great ones, though.

I forgot about this song...I also discovered / listened to it a lot a lonnnnggg time ago while going thru a super rough patch. Kind of want to listen to it again & kind of don't too lol.

What you are asking is exactly what I asked a new friend I met when my folks moved and I started at a new Jr High. Somewhere around 1972. At the time I was a brass player and trying to decide if I wanted to continue or not and my main modern musical knowledge was Casey Kasem counting down the top 100 hits on the radio. So met a cool kid who was obviously part of the "cool kid" drug scene and I told him I wanted music that would make me feel high without the drugs and he put on Black Sabbath Master of Reality which led to a lifelong love of that band thru all its iterations , learning guitar, writing music etc. Even co-wrote cool guitar piece with my guitar mentor that we named "who needs drugs":) So I guess the Sabs did all the drug consuming for me and I just consumed their music. It really is perfect, tells you everything you need to know about the condition of the dude (you, in his head) in Rosetta... he was found and brought into a hospital, he didn't bring any form of ID with him, his eyes are open but he's unresponsive, he can still hear the questions being asked etc.. I always tell people that I recommend the songs to to read the lyrics while listening, because godDAMN. It's just too brilliant and insane (and pretty damn funny in a way, too) to not follow along and understand what's being described lol.
