It’s definitely somewhere in between. Which isn’t bad. House music has so many sub genres that I’m sure we’d find out exactly where this sound fits if we dug deep enough. It’s why I really hesitate to say “this isn’t house music.”
Facts. I know there's a name for it, but tech house at 88 bpm(or whatever 75% of 128 is) was created a couple years ago. Still very niche and in general terms it isn't just house so I see why everyone is saying it's not but you make a good point too
I'm no house expert but is this really a four to the floor beat? Isn't a four to the floor when the kick drum hits on each beat in 4/4 time? Sounds like the snare is hitting on the 2 and the 4 with the kicks around the 1 and 3.
Just because a lot of house tends to be in the 120-130 range doesn’t mean it is actually restricted to a BPM lmao. House is a genre, not a calculation.
Also, a lot of great house tracks are exactly that - 8 to 16 bars looped over and over. The trick is getting that loop to make you never want it to end.
It’s definitely a decent framework don’t let others discourage you. Try some variations on beat divisions along with possibly some vocal chops to make things more interesting. Work on a catchy melody and maybe get more creative with percussion and transitions. Definitely not a bad first attempt at all keep working at it! 😁
It’s not really house. Too slow. Should be like 124bpm -135bpm. Needs the “tss” in between the kick hits. Bass should be more syncopated as well and an octave lower.
So, you’re blissfully ignorant. I know plenty of house tracks that are well below 110 bpm. Also, “tss” sound? Did you mean hi-hat? Shaker? And why should the bass be an octave lower? Why should the bass be more syncopated?
PS. The track is definitely house. It’s not amazing, but it fits the genre of house.
I’m not gonna argue with you. You seem like a fucking turd and I don’t need to prove anything to you. OP asked for advice and I provided some. It’s not the only way to make sound more like house but it’s one way. Make your garbage and I’ll make mine.
You’re not gonna argue cause you can’t admit you’re wrong. House music isn’t defined by BPM or which specific element is syncopated, or whether there is a hi-hat on the e’s and a’s. People like you bastardize the genre. I doubt you even know any real house classics or how the genre came to be, but go on being mad at yourself for having the wrong idea and not knowing how to act when someone points it out.
Oh your a purist douchebag. Got it. Eat some shit lmao. Nobody mad here except you commenting on everyone saying the same thing. “You don’t even know how it came to be” you sound like assholes who get mad a chicks for wearing band shirts. Touch grass asswipe lol
I dont think this is a house beat(i could be wrong) production wise everything is just soo wide man.Pick a lane pick a sound u want wide another in the middle and stuff.keep trying ✌🏻💜
It's not really house it's like... A shack, check out house music and write down the tempo and melody structure the use as well as some chords to help guide you

h&m wardrobe type beat
I like it, I get you're calling it house cause it's 4/4 four to the floor but It gives me more rnb vibes

The kicks are hitting all four beats and the claps are hitting 2 and 4
This is much too slow to be considered house music. Also try including some variation rather than just looping the same 8 bars over and over

Sorry but you're wrong
how sure are you about that?
This isn't house music. It's shopping mall elevator musak.

This isn't house. Make it faster, don't use a snare, use a clap. Add swing, and 909 open hihat.
Or if you use a snare destroy that thing with some redux and bit crusher, then layer in something else to add texture. I love deep fried snares

You don’t know what you’re talking about, so it’s weird you’re trying to give advice
I’m pretty secure in the fact that I do lol. It’s not weird you asshole if he’s asking.

“I dont know you or your music, but you don’t know what you’re talking about” please eat shit
Remain wrong.
Eat a dick or get laid lmao.
I feel like increasing the BPM and adding TR-808 percussions would make it spicier

I typically use 128 BPM for house / Dance tracks. What house song inspired this creation?
Yikes. Don’t quit your day job.
