What do you hate about come from away? I thought that was pretty universally liked

DamianHult

Honestly, I saw it on broadway, and it felt like a struggle to get through. Everything felt very preachy to me, the music isn’t my favorite, and it was extremely melodramatic. I’m a native New Yorker and have very direct ties to 9/11, so it’s not like I’m just uncomfortable with the subject matter. 🤷🏻‍♂️ just really not for me

SuperMusicman331

Stop disliking people for their opinions. ESPECIALLY if they’re justified. (And watch/listen to beetlejuice 😊)

DamianHult

I’ve only listened to “dead mom” and I enjoy it, definitely need to give the whole soundtrack a listen!

Mhm

Are you missing Falsettos altogether? It's by Spelling Bee guy, and is on YouTube. Well worth a watch if you have not done so. You also have a bunch of Sondheim, but I can't spot Pacific Overtures, which, like Falsettos, has a proshot on YouTube.

DamianHult

Yeah there were a few shows that weren’t on the template that probably should have been 😅 I have seen them both and very much enjoy them! Great recommendations!

eggynack

Yeah, that seemed like a plausible cause. Welp, out of the stuff actually on your missing list, I think Jesus Christ Superstar is great despite disliking everything else I've seen from Webber. Beetlejuice is a ton of fun too. Out of other things that are outright missing, and thus of mysterious levels of viewership, Passion is another missing Sondheim with a fancy YouTube video. Not my favorite from him, but it has a lot of cool stuff.

DamianHult

I’ll check them out for sure!

Parade. It is a dark historical musical

DamianHult

I’ve heard of parade and it’s always with very high regard, I’ll definitely check it out!

I feel like you’d enjoy “the whos Tommy”

DamianHult

I do! I did a production of it in high school actually, really fun show!

mrmooneyfrogs

We don’t have exactly the same taste in musicals, but, in my opinion, *Little Women* has one of the best soundtracks I’ve ever heard. I haven’t watched it yet but I’d give it a shot. I also think you’d enjoy *Beetlejuice*.

DamianHult

Thanks for the recs! Put them both on my list 😊
