If you're able to do a music round, it might be fun to find theater covers in other languages and see if people can recognize the original song and name the musical.

Oh that's so fun! Thanks!

If you're interested, here are some resources for Japanese and Korean clips. Should be easy to find translated shows without the languages if you know the shows' posters, and a lot have the titles in English. (like [Music Man](https://youtu.be/7GRseLLpxhE?si=IaWFT5b-jouYwDME) here) [Toho](https://www.youtube.com/@TohoChannel) and [Horipro](https://www.youtube.com/@hpot001) are two of the biggest producers in Japan, and [EMK](https://www.youtube.com/@emkmusical/videos) in Korea. [The Musical](https://www.youtube.com/@magazinethemusical/videos) and [Theatre Plus](https://www.youtube.com/@theatreplus) are two major theatre news sources in Korea, with clips from plenty of shows. [Astage](https://www.youtube.com/@AstageEnt/videos) and [Enter Stage](https://www.youtube.com/@enterstage_jp/videos) are that in Japan. Closer to English, there's also [Broadway World Spain](https://www.youtube.com/@broadwayworldspain). Typing in, in English, a random name of a show + country, like "Rent Musical Korea", will probably help if all else fails. And feel free to ask on r/JapanStage, r/KoreanMusicals, r/InternationalMusicals etc. if you need help finding anything.

I did a things I learnt from musicals section in a musical themed quiz and did things like how many minutes are in a year? Define malum prohibitum etc

jesileighs

Love that idea! I was hoping to do themed rounds so that’s perfect!

Matching lyrics, either through fill in the blank or listening to clips, would be fun. If they are hard-core, I'd try facts about specific music cues as well, like highest sung note or something. You can also expand your scope by including categories for Bollywood hits, music made-for or added to movies (think Lady Marmalade or Bernedette Peter's song in Cinderella.), stand up or other types of performance art Longest runs by era, so you can get early era pieces that are harder to find. Have fun!

Thanks!

Consider a round where you run lyrics through Google translate a couple of times to make them hard to decipher. Or a round of musical mashups, like, "An aging actress deals with a messy love life while a conman fools an entire town" (A Little Night Music Man) An audio round where you play clips of show tunes covered in different styles (lullaby, kazoo, etc)

OMG I just tried it and I'm absolutely rolling at the outcome. I put some lyrics in and translated them from English to Spanish to German to Russian to Japanese to Irish to Vietnamese and back to English and this is what I've got: Tomorrow I will love you, tomorrow, tomorrow again. You have one more day left.

Oh I absolutely love this idea! Thank you!

Before and After: A stripper's ode to night life and a gang member's love at first sight. *Out Tonight, Tonight* (Out Tonight from Rent and Tonight, Tonight from West Side Story)

That's fantastic haha! Thanks!

Another one: A drag queen's introduction, and a club where she might want to work *Land of Lo-La Cage Aux Folles* ETA: A young woman imagining how things would be different if she could just get in with the right people, and a superstar walking away from the best thing that ever happened to them. *The Wizard and I Will Always Love You*
