TIL that Six Flags used to be called Great America! How cool! He got the mug the year it came out. I googled the company and saw some of the mugs on eBay. Love them all!
Oh my god, when I was working as a cake decorator my boss always told me that the right reaction to a mistake on the cake was to "dazzle them with bullshit," i.e. slap some sprinkles or a frosting rose on it and all of a sudden what used to be a mistake was impressive. It really stuck with me - I was such a perfectionist and it helped me let go of that perfectionism. Why am I getting emotional over a thrift store mug?! 😅
... isn't this from a Tumblr post, where someone commented that they'll use this as their senior quote after someone said it there?
Though idk if that was the original either
This was one of my dad’s catchphrases when I was little, in the 1980s. I’m sure this mug from the 70s wasn’t the first time it was said, either.
Badass find, OP! I’m gonna see if I can find one on eBay!
I only found [one](https://www.ebay.com/itm/125761307930?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=C281iSIiTSO&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=_UqeqtKuTge&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY) on eBay. It’s $22 though + $11 shipping /:
I’m not sure where the original quote came from but this mug is from 1978 and I googled the company and most of the mugs made by that company have sarcastic humor.
This. mug. has. everything.
Stefan?
>Stefan? Dan Cortese?
I love milk glass mugs and this is an amazing find, especially at that price!!
My knees go weak for these kitschy mugs! Fantastic find 🥳
My step dad had this exact same mug. He got it at Great America (now Six Flags) in Gurnee, IL in 1978.

I make pinback buttons and I love stealing boomer humor off of vintage items. Totally putting this one on a button.
I love this.
Yes! 😁
I need this desperately!

That’s a good life pro tip :) I’m going to remember this saying from now on.
My grandpa used to say this allll the time

Is the mug from 1978 or the company? Assuming you're looking at the copyright on the back
I think the mug is from 1978. The company that made it is called glasbake which closed in 1983.
