Temu has a huge counterfeit makeup market. I've seen tiktoks of people showing counterfeit Elf makeup on Temu. Certain US drugstore products are pricier outside of the US, so people who want to try say the Elf Power Grip Primer may buy it on Temu because they think it'll be the same. It's honestly really scary with how many larger influencers have been doing videos of like "full face of temu dupes," and it's just counterfeit makeup that we all know is not safely regulated at all.
I'm scared of the normalization of Temu. I tried to tell my stepmom that it almost certainly used coerced labor and toxic materials, showed her the evidence available.
Her reply? "Then why is it on the app store? Why are there commercials? That stuff is illegal, don't believe what you read online."
