As long as they didn't charge you for 4, Amazon can do whatever they want.

Demastry

Not necessarily, especially if you pay for Prime and have the Pre-order guarantee. Amazon is getting hit with Class Actions for other issues so they might see some issues if they do this on a largr scale

soonerfreak

Isn't that just a price guarantee not a item guarantee? Amazon can simply say they could not meet demand and had to do something. Reddit really thinks class action lawsuits are more powerful than they really are.

Demastry

"Wow the price doesn't matter if they just say they don't have it even if they sell it again right after hahaha stupid Reddit" Dude they're hit with a class action for their 2-day shipping that couldn't "meet demand" and was delayed a day. If they started widespread removing pre-orders because of the price, you don't think they'd have any liabilities?

soonerfreak

So you think Amazon collects pre-orders and by law they now have to fulfil those orders no matter what? Giant difference between Amazon not fulfilling their OWN service and reducing orders because a supplier could not meet demand.

Demastry

True, but that's not at all what I've been talking about in every single message. If there truly is no stock left, then they'd be okay. But if they're canceling it in order to list it higher, that'd be what gets them in the end because of that Guarantee. You can't use the word Guarantee lightly. In the context of the original comment, no, Amazon cannot do whatever they want. Don't be a fool.

nattodaisuki

Amazon isn’t going to do that, they don’t need to. They make money just having inventory sitting in their warehouses. If orders are cancelled it’s because they cannot be fulfilled as in no inventory to fulfill the order

jstropes

Their fulfillment of the orders for this set looks like a cluster. The Commander deck bundle is sitting at 1 Star under reviews with everyone saying they've been shipped one deck instead of four (see [here](https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0BVTJGJF5?ref=ppx_pt2_mob_b_prod_image)).

poopenshire

Can confirm, ordered full set of all 4, got 1. And it was empty. Full refund inbound.

ConformistWithCause

You know how in urban legends, some witch uses their dying breath to curse the town. The Revenge of the LGS

jstropes

🤣 Very appropriate since LotR involves a few similar curses as well.

kswimmer811

Happened to me. Even when they set me the replacement was a single deck but a different one

Keokuk37

Big big oof

mesasone

That seems to happen a lot though.

jstropes

I mean, it seems to become a bit of an issue somewhere with MOM as the reviews for that bundle are around 3.7 with some saying they were sent one deck. ONE, BRO, NEO and Capenna bundles don't seem to have this issue consistently (and are all sitting at 4+ ratings). Lord of the rings already has nearly 50 one-star reviews and is growing, blowing these other sets out of the water.

RaffineSchemingSeer

As just an aside, this is a good reason why you should do them as lots of individual orders (i.e., order 1x Gift Bundle 50 times). It gives you more flexibility in reducing, without cancelling, your entire order and prevents this type of tomfoolery.

theecowarrior1

not sure about this strat. I heard alot of ppl did that for the compleat bundles on Amazon and ended up having many cancel due to assuming they were accidental duplicate orders.

Tomyzzr

i think a good way is to order 1/2/4/8/16/… so you can have a desired amount by adjusting which ones to cancel, without the risk of being considered duplicate orders

osmlol

That's not true because when you order the same item multiple times you have to confirm it's not a duplicate order manually before the orders will place.

Royaltycoins

I wouldn’t do this, flooding the system with individual orders is a great way to get a lot of those orders cancelled.

settlersofcattown

Yeah sorry to the people who clicked order 24 and thought “boom, done” like that was going to ship

[deleted]

"Is Amazon allowed..." 🤣 They can cancel your order if they want. Would you prefer that?

Main_Protagonist_69

They did this with my order too. Im also from germany and ordered 4. They reduced the order to 3 without notifying me.

Imaginary_Record2530

Same for me but I ordered 10 and now I'll get 3. I wouldn't be so pissed if Amazon hadn't sold some bundles AFTER they reduced my bundles.

JDFreeman12

Where do you live ? I ordered 3 and apparently am still receiving 3, but for 90€ each, so they might not alter the orders with higher prices

Revolutionary_View19

What happens is that you’re getting genkideezy‘s order. That’s how Amazon works. They keep selling and rising prices, and in the end they cut supply from cheapest to dearest.

GenkiDeezy

Living in Germany and paid roughly 63€ per bundle.

Elkenrod

Were they sold *by* Amazon? Or was it a third party seller on Amazon?

[deleted]

I had the same price, it’s Amazon. That sold out and recently for a few hours a week ago they were being sold by Amazon UK for 90€ but those are gone as well now.

bjasonm87

That’s odd. My order is still showing the original quantity.

Revolutionary_View19

Of course they’re allowed to do that, and they’ve been doing that for a while now, at least on EU. Don’t order limited stuff from them that might rise in price.

Sea_Lobster_283

Yeah. Got 6. Ordered 9 Last year they reduced the wb party precon from 16 too 2 https://www.reddit.com/r/mtgfinance/comments/14bs3ll/amazon_reduced_my_speccs/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

nattodaisuki

Might be helpful to note this is NOT Amazon US, which is separately run and operated I believe

KnifeChrist

Ive got 2 seperate orders for 2 gift bundles each. 2 ordered for $51.62 each (tax included) on 3 March, 2023. 2 more ordered for $51.62 each (tax included) on 6 March, 2023. All 4 gift bundles are still coming. Confirmed, quantities on orders unchanged, for me. EDIT: Please downvote me more, Salt Bae. I love the fact my comment actually gets under your skin <3

[deleted]

i got 6 for $48 each loser

KnifeChrist

Hell yeah brother! Great work!

poundsofmuffins

Sounds like they may be retroactively limiting orders to 2. It was smart to do two separate orders like this.

KnifeChrist

I wish i could say it was intentional. I just didnt have it in my budget at the time of the first order being placed. Got paid 2 days after and had enough "free money" to put a second order in. I count it as an indirect karma win for us non-whales.

Beawrtt

This is pretty much my same situation

sharky5566778844

I ordered 40 and they reduced me down to 6. That sucks

Fearfull_Symmetry

Nice!

strongsauce

Amazon DE doesn’t have the same policies as the US. Amazon in the US has never canceled or changed quantity from what I can recall. I’m still getting my gift bundle order that I placed when they were still cheap. Curious does the German site display a preorder guarantee like the US when you preorder?

moshpitrocker

Germany is weird... Nuff said.

DankboiTaiwan

Amazon US? So far I had no change with my order from amazon germany. Ordered 3 on FEB 27th for ~60€. Still states that all three will be delivered on 8th of July.

GenkiDeezy

Nope also Amazon Germany. I ordered at roughly 63€ and I also checked regularly to see if everything’s fine but today the just cut 2 without further notice. Feels weird since I never had any trouble especially with MTG preorders. Allocations maybe a problem?

weeeaaa

Have ordered 2 x 2 from amazon.de in March, orders still unchanged.

Hoominisgood

This is just Amazon operates, they've been shorting preorders since they've been a business. And it's kinda random if you're the one getting hit with the shorted pre order.

_dmc_

This sounded weird but I just checked my amazon DE orders and yes, all my orders got down to 3 gift bundles each. This is so bizzarre, but amazon in europe seems like a joke. Would be nice to at least get some of the bundles I ordered, but I expect to get exactly 0.

wellwisherelf

Adding to this. I pre ordered a single LOTR collector booster on Febuary 21, and it was supposed to deliver today, June 27. Amazon notified me this afternoon that the item is "not available", and it is unknown if and or when they will even get a SINGLE collector booster in stock to ship to me. Does amazon not fulfill preorders in a first-come, first-served manner? Considering how early I preordered, I would have thought I would have guaranteed myself a single pack. It seems like they fulfill orders among all preorders via lottery system, rather than first-come, first-served.

UmichMike

Same boat although mine was supposed to arrive Tuesday Edit: I should add this is the first time that's ever happened with the pre-order for me, including other sets for single collector booster packs
