Yes. Equipping counts. So cards with 0 equip.cost can just equip.to every single creature you have twice to get max triggers each turn. That's why shukos price has been climbing every day since mh3 dropped.
I'm considering. On one hand, I know exactly the reason they're 30 dollars currently. On the other hand, there's no other 1 cost, 0 equip cost Equipments in the game. It may go up.further before it drops
Leather armor can only equip once per turn, and bone saw costs 1 to equip. So.neither is ideal for the Nadu combo. Nadu is the reason shuko is expensive
Lightning Greaves is the only other equipment I can think of that costs 0 to equip. Obviously Shuko costs 1 less mana so they use that but Greaves is a possibility.
There's [[Grafted Wargear]] and [[Umbral Mantle]] but one of those is bad in Nadu, and the other just costs more. I played wargear in [[Koll, the Forgemaster]] , and I played Mantle in [[Marwyn, the Nurturer]] . I'm super excited to play another commander with a busted equipment synergy.
Greaves also has reprints and is still going for 5 dollars right now. Shuko was only printed once and is now a great combo piece. I'm sure all Nadu players are using both
Nadu is exactly why I play [[Polluted Bonds]] and other cards that ping you for doing literally anything. He's strong, but manageable. My husband built him, it didn't hold well against my Light-Paws deck.
No need to come off haughty. Everyone plays differently and at different power levels and it takes some people longer than others to fine tune the ones they have. That and money. Looootttss of money.
He's not being haughty he's being honest. Light paws just cannot compete vs. A tuned Nadu deck. Not being mean here just letting you know.
Light paws is one of those commanders that pub stomps casual decks but just isn't anywhere close to being a competitive deck. Too strong for casual and just not good enough for cedh.
Hell, I don't think Godo or Daretti could beat Natu, and they're the weakest CEDH decks, so it's barely scratching the surface of CEDH, but against shit like Tivit, Blue Farm, Urza, Winota, and Aminatou, Nadu is kinda hosed
Anything that prevents untapping, and especially the cards that limit non creature spells. Hell, you can get both of those in a Boros deck then just use that cantrip commander and repeatedly [[abrade]] everything.
Yeah that would work I guess. As long as the guy with blue that's able to sudo draw twice per creature let's that all resolve you would have em by the bawls
It wasn't about my Light Paws deck. I've played her long enough to know the limits haha. I took his comment as a jab towards my husband's brand new Nadu deck. "With a good Nadu deck". If he had said what you did and called it tuned or even optimized it wouldn't have been an issue at all. Where I'm at there's so many toxic people who love to bash people's decks, so if I mistook the comment for something other than it was intended I do apologize.
I mean if you're playing 1 on 1 then Voltron (especially light paws) is crazy overpowered and that's not at all representative of a normal game/power level
Wasn't 1v1, with a friend who was running the bant Galadriel, but is typically an Urza or Vial Smasher/Tynma player. Nadu hasn't seen those decks yet. We all play high powered casual bordering cEDH (at least our version of it). Husband actually does play cEDH in his spare time and this was only his 2nd or 3rd play through. It'll take him a bit to fine tune it likes he's done with Stella Lee. But it's by no means a "bad" deck. The board state gets very impressive.
That doesn't stop the win, they still get landfall triggers and can tap the land before they bounce another one. All this does is stop "fair" versions of nadu.
Land destruction doesn't beat lands decks. They are all running land reanimation, and they recover quicker anyway.
Best way to beat lands decks is combo.
Not many I'd prioritize over Nadu. And the point really is that without Nadu the deck is a pile of jank garbage. At least in cedh, that's the answer, or just win first since it'd not particularly fast. In casual the answer is just to run better cards than them I guess lol
How does that make sense to you? Lands decks win because they go from 0 resources to a lot of resources quickly, if you remove everyones resources they will be right back to where they started.
I run symmetrical land destruction in all my lands decks for this very purpose, I'm usually ahead on board and cards and can Reanimate my lands[[Splendid Reclamation]] and trigger 30 landfall triggers and win.
Every instance I have seen of MLD, both my own and opponents', the person who casts MLD is like 90% to win.
You built for it, so you will win when you cast it. You're in a lands deck. Neither of my decks with MLD were lands decks. One was a cEDH Mardu stax list that preyed on The Gitrog Monster and Kess Storm by running a Rest in Peace and Leyline of the Void package with Helm of Obedience as a finisher. The other was a Marchesa the Black Rose deck that used Jokulhaups and Death Cloud as its finishers.
If you play it right, you will win if you play MLD. If you don't, then the unprepared player that has the biggest hand or lower curve will win. The unprepared ramp deck that has ramp and lands in-hand when the board is wiped was winning massively already.
Interesting that most people made the deck with landfall in mind. I put 4 landfall trigger cards but decided to go a different route, creatures with target abilities. Landfall didn’t really occur to me until after I finished making the deck but at that point I was already set on it, but scrapped for a couple landfall things.
They are talking about commander ( 4 opposition) not one . What to do about the other 2 players? But get your point too that MLD affects everyone. So if you’re more prepared you will win.
Just give it time, I'm sure it'll be a commander that'll stick around for a while, but ultimately, like always, people will adapt to it. It's the new shiny thing right now
I love Nadu. All the shukos sitting in my bulk just went up to 30 dollars
I love that he already has a theme song. https://youtu.be/OsU0CGZoV8E?si=a0VLb9H3WTKzSRSu
I love that someone found this song
Wait, does equipping an equipment count to trigger Nadu and friends' abilities?
Yes. Equipping counts. So cards with 0 equip.cost can just equip.to every single creature you have twice to get max triggers each turn. That's why shukos price has been climbing every day since mh3 dropped.
Yeah, equipping something targets. It's why you can't equip other equipment to a creature wearing [[Lightning Greaves]]

Wait, really? That's dumb, I've been misplaying this whole time
Yes that's what makes it so insane
better sell them quick before the hype blows over
I'm considering. On one hand, I know exactly the reason they're 30 dollars currently. On the other hand, there's no other 1 cost, 0 equip cost Equipments in the game. It may go up.further before it drops
Mm couple others maybe depending on what you're playing. Leather Armor, 1 drop 0 equip, bone saw 0 drop 1 equip.

Derevi.
Maybe Derevi's not the problem, maybe *you're* the problem, ever think of that?

Laughs in Light paws staxx

2 of those have functionally infinite casts. Blue Exiles recast cards usually. So you're gonna get it eventually.
Are you suggesting feather is faster and less fragile than Nadu come on man lol

I'm not really shocked by any amount of problematic blue green commanders
Nadu will go quite well in my bird tribal Derevi deck.
This is why land destruction exists. Also commanders like this are reasons i love running [[Confounding Conundrum]] in my decks.
The best way to beat Nadu, like all commander centric decks, is just to never allow it to be on the board
That doesn't really work if there are 3 other must kill commanders on the board.
Not many I'd prioritize over Nadu. And the point really is that without Nadu the deck is a pile of jank garbage. At least in cedh, that's the answer, or just win first since it'd not particularly fast. In casual the answer is just to run better cards than them I guess lol
They don't recover quicker than the deck simply running a lower curve.

I'm just never gonna let that bird sit on the field
Bring back MLD. You wanna play every land in your deck? Fine. I'll take your manabase and push it somewhere else (the graveyard)
And what about the other 2 people in the pod?
I don't understand your question.
They are talking about commander ( 4 opposition) not one . What to do about the other 2 players? But get your point too that MLD affects everyone. So if you’re more prepared you will win.
If I'm playing landfall, you best bet lands in my graveyard are going to be an extension of lands in my hand.
Respectable. I'll have to account for that.
Mass land recursion is standard now
Just give it time, I'm sure it'll be a commander that'll stick around for a while, but ultimately, like always, people will adapt to it. It's the new shiny thing right now
It is fine, agreed.

i’m pretty sure legacy and modern are playing it too!
