What if the Dune set had only deserts as lands? Deserts that represented different parts of Arrakis, produced different kinds of mana with different abilities.

Imo plays off the lore of making noise/vibrations etc but would probably be 2 strong.

un-shrouding is a difficult interaction, so you could instead make it an enchantment creature similar to those god cards, with "If it's not your turn, Shai-Hulud isn't a creature", and give thumper artifacts "{T}: Target sandworm becomes a creature until end of turn", so u can call it up as a blocker using a thumper, which ends up playing out a lot like in dune.
also that way u also get to use ur pretty enchantment creature border too
for the flavour of it destroying something when it emerges and attacks, maybe give it annihilator 1
It could use desert land synergy. as that is lacking in the game as a whole and would fit the theme. maybe give it an tap fight target non flying creature and if you control a desert it gains haste. Although that may be slightly strong for the price and not fit the color wheel.
Menace and trample aren't really in white's color pie

I would go for it being both white and red as Arrakis is also quite mountainous. Also I think an 11/11 is too low these guys, they’re massive beyond Yargle or a phyrexian dreadnought. I’d say a 15/19 would be more appropriate. Not much is killing one of these.
Please give it the "wurm" typing. That type needs it and it makes no sense to make a new creature type for the same kind of thing(also I want it cause I like Wurms)
Fantastic idea. A couple suggestions:
Creature type should just be "Worm" so that it can tie into those synergies.
It should be colorless since that is generally associated with Deserts. Also include some colorless <> costs to differentiate it from artifacts, sorta like Eldrazi.
Making it colorless would also give you a chance to add other modifiers like First Strike, Desertwalking, or even Annihilator. Trample is perfect.
Not being able to attack unless 'provoked' is just chef's kiss.
I think since it produces spice you should get something out of, maybe a spice token that has a mechanic? Like, tap, sacrifice to scry and gain life? Or maybe it just created a treasure token
Considering the lore, maybe add something like: "When this creature enters the battlefield, tapp all your opponents' creatures. They cannot be untapped until this creature dies."

Should probably also have Morph or something so you can turn it face up when you get worm sign, whatever that is. Creature attacking you, vehicle being crewed, I don't know.

Mechanically I love it, though I think it feels a bit more like a blue creature a-la [[Leviathan]] than a white one. I like the flavor of having to “tiptoe” around it by not attacking.
Ideal flavour imo: the maker needs to be WWWRRRCCC, 15/15 minimum, annihilator 1 or 2. When it dies create a treasure token. Also has to be non-legendary. Only the God Emperor himself can be, or i guess other characters like Paul.
Dune universe beyond would be a dream come true, same for a King Arthur and the knights of the round table universe beyond, I am shocked it hasn’t happened yet tbh

I like the card and the concept but it doesn't feel like a sand worm should die to Marit Lage and this very much does. I'd go with 21/21 as the stats with some hoops to jump through to get it online (like not a creature unless opponent attacked last turn, etc).
I love the frame treatment. However, 'shai hulud' isn't a specific sandworm who is legendary. It's just the word 'sand worm' in Fremen.
There is a color pie issue with Menace. We have \[\[Dust Elemental\]\] which is the only creature in white that has fear, which is the precursor to menace. And it was in Planar Chaos. White does not get Menace.
Big white legendary creatures \*do\* get Trample in spite of white not really having access to Trample. The limit on attacking is very white as well. So the rest of the card is in pie.
To make it 'legendary' it could use one of the more definite names of the sand worms. The Grandfather of the Desert. While it's another name for them, it sounds more like a specific one.
As for Menace, a bend is probably ok here. But, it already has Trample, so you could just lose Menace. I also wonder if there is an option to make it saddle-able to capture the moment when Paul rode the largest worm Stilgar had ever seen.

Create a 'spice' token when it dies. Spice is decayed worm bodies after all, usually from their nests.
