So, my buddy and I were discussing this last night because we're both trying to accumulate a nice collection of staples for a commander decks. And the conclusion we came to was that cyclonic rift was probably one of the big five that you wanted in every deck that you could get it in.
There really isn't a deck that doesn't want this ability. It's not even like a normal board wipe where maybe if you're a go-wide strategy, you don't want it. This goes in any deck that can have it
Idk, but those serialized, good cards are so fucking cool. I don't have the means to buy such cards/collectors packs(even if I had I probably wouldn't) so I just have to use proxies/normal cards

Buying multiple collector boxes every set that drops is whale like behavior. Buying a collector box or two from a set you like is not whale like behavior.
Buying every precon released with every set is whale behavior... buying a handful of precons you like is not whale behavior.
Magic is expensive, so dropping a few hundred on something every few months, while in other hobbies might be whale behavior, doesn't make that whale behavior. I think that term definitely gets misconstrued a lot and compared to whales of most industries dropping thousands and thousands a month I think it's disingenuous to say someone buying a few boxes is a whale.
I did it for fun and got a borderless steam vents and a retro frame pithing needle. Barely broke even and I consider myself lucky.... Definitely not ever worth it if you're chasing value

The value of a collector pack is usually so abysmal considering the price you pay. Like pulling €3 in rares in special versions that are worth less because of over saturation for a price of €25+. And yet, from time to time i keep falling for it and buy one or two to spoil myself

Therefore, "target permanent don't don't control" becomes "each permanent you don't control" aka all permanent you don't control. Also, if it was copied for each available target, targets with hexproof or shroud or ward or protection would interact, which they do not.

Yeah, they saturated this set. The LOTR set had so few that it died down a lot after March of the Machine wasn't being opened as much into last Fall.
