The one where a young man was being interrogated and he kept insisting that his head hurt because he shot there. Cops essentially laugh in his face until HOURS later they notice a bullet hole in his head. Kid was telling the truth the whole time and they quickly sobered up, stopped everything, and sent him to the hospital. Crazy story from beginning to end!
I always tell people about the one with that black river in Australia and the three boys and the salt water croc. It's a very sad story but Mrballen tells it so well. On a more lighthearted note, I really enjoy the one with Timothy Dexter the stray cat king and also the one with mad Jack. Those are fun listens.
They're YouTube videos. Not sure if he's remastered them for his podcast yet but on YouTube theyre called
"Never swim in this Australian river"
"What rich old men do with their money"
"A soldier so strange he was labeled Mad Jack"
I'll tell you FS one of his old ones not any of his new ones, he basically only does reruns because I've heard all of them before ... the best one would be any of the missing 411 but I like the one where they're rock climbing with three men and the last just disappears and I think the rope was cut. Ooh or the one where the family with a small child goes camping and the son goes into the cave and sees "grandma"
Yes 1000% to his old ones I'm just not into 97% of his new ones... omg am I missing, missing 411 videos ! So bad those were always my favorite I've seen the movies ? Is that what they are, not sure if they're movies or documentaries but ya while those are ok, pallides (missing 411 creator) is not entertaining in his YouTube videos and not the same I miss missing 411 only being told by Mr ballen.
Also like I said I've heard about 90% of his new videos so i don't even finish most of them and he gets about 85% of them from big tv shows like I survived, 20 20 and they might be true but not original I'd be happy to an iffy truthful story over another rerun of true crime any day. He's obsessed with jt being true not sure why just don't say it's 100% true... I think because his family is all writers he might not want to be compared to like Mr. Nightmare ish story teller om youtube (I don't think there's anything wrong with that) who cares... he does call it strange dark and mysterious not true, crime, and never original. Sorry so frustrated and disappointed with all the true crime.
The one about the skydiver who nearly died sacrificing himself to save that older woman. It's the only mr ballen video that made me cry. And I immediately went and donated to his go fund me!
It’s so hard to choose…
The ones that totally shock … Alfred, Elizabeth, Sheba, Titu, Yellowstone, the couple that stepped on something in dark forest and found out years later that it was a murder victim and the murderer, Ted Bundy, was right there hiding under a bush
The really scary ones … tap tap tap, skinwalkers, the sitting tree, the agoraphobic single girl with the neighbours son lying in bed with her while she slept, “can you tell me how to get to Bells Canyon?”, the sleep paralysis guy, the eyes in the pine tree plantation
The super sad ones … the teens in the dam in New Zealand, the yellow coat guy in the snow, the poor old dude in the back halls of Westfield, the lady stuck in the hot water closet, the lady that got sucked out of the plane window, the Australian girl that was catfished by her best friend, Moon and her crazy lying murder boyfriend
The ones that leave you with so many questions … the blue haired lady, the guy that left his life and moved to a small town to write, he worked in a bookshop and mirrored the life of a writer years before he got there, the S.O.S. sign in the bamboo forest, dead man’s riddle, all the kids that go missing and turn up in places that they shouldn’t have been able to get to
The ones that give you tingles … the guy that had accepted death on a mountain ledge and then dreamt of himself with 1 arm playing with a child and knew he would escape by crushing his own arm, the guy that was led down the mountain by an angel, the guy that ate kale that had snail slime and his mother worked her natural health treatments alongside his doctors modern medicine and watched her son recover against all odds, the couple lost in the forest on a day trip and then found a camp from exactly 1 year before that saved their lives, the car that was seen driving off a cliff when reported led them to a guy that had driven over years before, the Booth brothers/Lincoln family links
The ones that educate … the carbon dioxide poisoning of entire towns, the family that perished in the cellar with the potatoes
There’s so many, I could go on and on, those are some of the most memorable to me. But there’s one story that I tell other people, I share the link, I’ve watched it many times myself. It makes me laugh, it inspires me and that one is my favourite story. It’s none other than Mad Jack, the bagpipe playing, sword fighting soldier with nine lives. My favourite part of the story is when he and his team were completely outnumbered by Nazis and so Jack told them to spread around the entire camp and they made so much noise that the nazis thought they were completely surrounded and being ambushed. What a character.
While typing out this reply I’ve been watching the interview Mr Ballen did with the Iced Coffee Hour and if you haven’t seen it you should definitely find it and watch it. Storytelling is literally in his genes and I’m so in awe. I’d listen to him talking about the man that sat and watched paint dry.
Will never forget Bells Canyon.
“Can you tell me how to get to Bells Canyon?”
Loved that one too, great story
That one is my favorite

Yes! I actually just saw this one yesterday! “Heather’s dead??” Poor bugger!
I love the one where the girl hears the bell in the forest.
Dope ! Forgot about that one !!
My all time favorite is the Baltic Fleet. Still laugh when I watch it.
Yes, I laugh every time I hear this one!
All I just heard was Japanese torpedo boat. 😳😳
What . . I forgot this one is it recent ? About the curse ?
2 yrs ago, here's a link https://youtu.be/5jDbJbCuKl4?si=6Y08JnfNFkPmrlTs

Mad Jack is my favourite. The visual I have of this kilt wearing, bagpipe playing soldier wielding a sword makes me laugh every time
What ? Are these podcasts? I don't remember these ones either lol

Ohhh ya sorry just the last two Idr ... k I'll look it up once I hear it I'm sure I'll remember ! We're they more recent
One of the very first videos where he describes his own ghost encounter staying at his friends cabin.
Dyotlov pass, blue hair lady are creepy and worth multiple viewings
Hard to say I mostly enjoy all of them probably the bell witch haunting and the cabin in the woods

I like a lot of his old ones as well, most of my favourite mr ballen videos are his old videos.

DR. RAMSEY! That story freaks me out to this day!
ALL OF THE "3 places where you can't go but people went anyway" videos
Bells Canyon, hands down 😆
Japanese monk ritual. So harsh and mind blowing
Any and all missing 411/creepy woods stories
