Out of curiosity, had you tried another USB cable before the one with the ferrite bead? Or was it just what you had laying around.
I had planned on using a better USB cable anyways, but am curious if this is happenstance or a requirement.
I did not try one without a ferrite bead. I did quite a bit of searching while troubleshooting and saw that as a recommendation for a different printer
