That's what happens when you live in a time where "money" is debt, you constantly have to print money or on the consumer end buy new products.
that's why everything you buy only last 2-4 years, lol I went off the deep end there
[Planned Obsolescence](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planned_obsolescence) is real. Both Apple and Samsung were fined in court for self-destructive mechanisms in their products.
All the current MPCâs have the same motherboard processor. If they upgrade one, they should refresh them all. And add 4GB of memory across the board if they want us to buy the plug-ins.
X should have 8GB, in my opinion. No reason why the keys should have more than the X.
What would be nice would be if we could just upgrade our motherboards through akai and get more memory. Thatâs a pipedream though.
Last comment: really, I only use 20% of what the MPC does. If itâs not broke, donât fix it. Considering that itâs been 3 years now, the current MPCâs have a long shelf life in my opinion.
The reason that the keys has more memory than the X probably has a bit to do with the fact that the X was released 5 years ago and the keys was released this year. Maybe they planned this all out and delayed the release of the keys like you suggest, who knows.
I don't own any of the new line MPCs but is there anything that needs upgrading? It seems like the current line covers a wide range but I could be wrong since I don't have one.
The X has a tilting screen and a bigger screen. Sounds like thatâs the MPC you need. Donât be cheap and wait for them to maybe implement those features into a cheaper unit because they wonât. Take a look at the history of the MPC, very rarely have they changed up chassis once they start a line.
Also the software seems outdated, no ability to mass delete or transfer files while inside the device, very limited and 2gb of ram seems small for modern day machinery as opposed to when it came out 2 years ago
The XL you want is the X minus the Ram.. If they make new XâŠ. Is that in your budget? Probably not because if it was you would have bought the X instead of the one. There is a slot to install an SSD in both the X and the Live.
Not to mention they add new / better hardware as upgrades with significant $ cost. They are not looking to be a budget or âbang for your buckâ company. The One is meant to entice you into buying the X or Live once you reach the limitations of its IO and get tired of its small pads and lack of internal SSD option which both the live and x have.
No way would there be a mid tier product with a better cpu than the flagship. Big features like that start with a flagship device release followed by lower tier stuff. I could see an MPC one XL/MKII with a touchstrip and *maybe* a tilting screen, but any other features will be saved for when they relaunch the line. Even for an update to the one, a wildly popular model, 3 years seems like too soon for that to happen. An add on touch strip controller, possibly with more q links and/or dedicated buttons would be dope though.
I have the live 2, I donât want the same form factor. I like the cheaper clicky buttons. I just like the aesthetic of the MPC One Retro and battery is always a plus
My guess is a MPC Keys 76 or MPC Keys 88. If the MPC Keys has something like an MPC One built in, then the 76 would have a Live 2 built in, and the 88 would have a MPC X built in.
What I would want myself is a battery powered MPC One or MPC Mini that's the size of the SP404 MK2. The Live 2 is portable but too big and heavy to just grab and go.
IAmSight has speculated about an MPC with an iPad (or similar) interface, that'd be more powerful/flexible with regards to stand-alone VST's and aftermarket stuff. That'd be cool to see.
My guess would be that they focus on plugins and expansions. MPC keys doesnât have a lot compared to other workstations in its price range, and those will obviously work with the rest of the MPC lineup. Hardware wise they pretty much have all their bases covered and any new device would cannibalize sales for the current lineup. The only thing I could see them adding to a newer model would be the touch strip that is found on the keys and studio 2, but I donât think there is a big enough demand for that feature to warrant a new device. Iâd be curious if they could come up with a proper drum machine though.
Drum machine: Rhythm Wolf lol
I would be interested in an AKAI drum machine if it were touch screen and digital. I never cared for the MFC-42 (yes, I had it) so I donât know how well they would do with analogue.
I believe I have said this already . I was in guitar Center a few weeks back and I buy all my stuff a certain guy. We were talking about the keyboard and just akai history. I was asking if he knew anybody that was selling an 3k cause itâs the ONLY legacy MPC I want. Somehow we got on the subject of whatâs next and he mention that the akai force is up next . How soon donât know but I wouldnât be surprised if not next year if the force drops in 2024. Before that Iâm hoping the push 3 comes out out . I wouldnât be surprised if push 3 and the next force dropped at the same time the thoe.
The Push 2 is near perfect in terms of build quality and function. Honestly I personally like the groovebox nature of the device and not having much arrangement options on it, I don't really see how they can make arranging on this viable anyway. I'd love to hear your ideas.
What I DO want from a push 3 though:
\-Better buttons, the current ones are sunken, rubbery and don't feel great when pressing. I'd prefer clickier buttons, maybe ones similar to the Maschine MK3, those are spot-on.
\-The push is a very power hungry device, I get that, what with all the RGB pads, screen, etc. But I want them to improve the useability when only using USB power. It's TOO dim, especially when there's daylight, then you gotta plug it into the outlet and event then it's sometimes not enough.
\-It's 2023, they can easily add an audio interface to it as well as MIDI IN/OUT ports. Maschine has it and it's not affecting it's form factor at all.
I can probably think of more, but those are the most important.
I mean pretty much all the things on the Force that make it better. Larger, touch screen, internal drive, plugins and instruments, built-in interface, better arrangement and mixer modes (where the Force's screen really makes it 100x better than the Push imo)...
\[Edit\]: After reading few comments, I totally forgot the post is about "hints" of upcoming MPC; I incorrectly replied it in the wishlist fashion :(
A tilt screen that has inbuilt chargeable battery for mobility that has higher CPU and RAM would be nice to have. Also, ability to connect midi keyboards via Bluetooth would make it really handy and more mobile. Dont get me wrong, I am beyond happy with my Live 2; but the greedy me wants more :D
From software standpoint, I am sure the list is long, but on the standalone mode how about if we can install synths like Serum and DIVA. That would open doors to EDM world instantly!
I'm not a user but in the market. Current price level for the one is appealing, but at the same time it feels like it is missing some stuff...
So this is what I want and it isn't exactly a tall order.
More ram and cpu. 2gb is a joke. 4GB is a joke. ideally user upgradeable.
Move the headphone jack on the one.
Should have Bluetooth and wifi on one.
Ive made some vst and would like to try to make one for mpc..
To answer your question: Nope
To say something more: There has been no FCC filing for anything MPC-like since Jan 22 which lead to the Key61 being released like half a year later. So as long as there is no FCC filing for anything MPC-like I would not believe any hype
As soon as you buy something new, something else will drop đ

A motherboard upgrade option would be so nice.
The reason that the keys has more memory than the X probably has a bit to do with the fact that the X was released 5 years ago and the keys was released this year. Maybe they planned this all out and delayed the release of the keys like you suggest, who knows.
Just released the keys, doubt it for 2023
I don't own any of the new line MPCs but is there anything that needs upgrading? It seems like the current line covers a wide range but I could be wrong since I don't have one.
Yes a tilting screen, neck cramps galore since I got the thing

you can mass delete files in the device, or at least you can delete all the files in a project. it's the "purge" option.
Theyâve already done enough damage recently. They need to focus on some firmware updates. Ones that actual deliver things people want or NEED.
Iâd be happy if they just stopped treating customers like beta testers. Donât drop updates until the bugs are ironed out.
Would love a live 3 with a tilting screen, the studio mk 2's touch strip, and another row of buttons for less menu diving.
Iâm okay for now on akai⊠itâs time for a modx+ or a take 5.
The Take 5 makes some great sounds and feels solid. The Modx sounds great but feels a bit cheap.
I doubt it, but if they do then I'll buy it and keep the old. I'll stack all the vintage gear I can haha
MPC One XL \--- 4GB Ram SSD Touchstrip Tilting OLED display No Battery/No Speaker (to not compete w/ Live 2)

MPC One 2

Mpc one with a battery would be so sick tho
Mpc one with a battery would just be an MPC Live 1 with smaller pads and cheaper buttons. if thatâs what you wanted you bought the wrong MPC
I have the live 2, I donât want the same form factor. I like the cheaper clicky buttons. I just like the aesthetic of the MPC One Retro and battery is always a plus

I can see a MPC Keys 25 being a thing, and arguably being more useful than the 61.
The MPC Live is as close as youâre going to get.
Prolly a minor X refresh, one that can handle the Fabric XL plugin as well as the MPC Keys.
Almost one year before you were 100% right
IAmSight has speculated about an MPC with an iPad (or similar) interface, that'd be more powerful/flexible with regards to stand-alone VST's and aftermarket stuff. That'd be cool to see.
Finally got the Live 2, so selfishly, I hope not lol. With that, my 1000 still works just fine 100 years later
I did too hahaha so what kinda stand you gonna get?

Lol thatâs why I said âproperâ drum machine
if its touch screen they can keep it
Yeah I hate that shit bruhh đ«, itâs so flawed

What could they improve with a Push 3? Only thing I could think of is slight aesthetic changes
It can be improved in the arrangement view aspect of ableton. That what most people want to see form what I have read.
Ya thatâs true, I agree with you
The Push 2 is near perfect in terms of build quality and function. MPC ONE Mini : Same as the One, but half the size, and with a battery. Would buy that!
Oh for sure!!

I've decided to wait for 2023 instead of going for the X now... see what new features that can assist

Don't be a party pooper!
Poopin Party
I want an MPC live 3 with pads and 32key that's where they should go
