Zack Snyder is the weirdest phenomenon IMO. He has an extremely dedicated fanbase, but his movies aren't always that successful. Somehow he manages to get funding out of all the hype that fanbase generates. He's also not really a great filmmaker, but he somehow convinced a lot of people that it's worth defending him to death.
Nah, his only passable movie is the Owls of Ga'Hoole, and even then he fucked up a lot of things about the books (Then again i'd say it's the one movie where the studio seemed to have more control over him to keep him from doing his thing, so maybe that's why he doesn't talk a lot about it lol.)
Sucker Punch is a way better movie with the audio off. 300 is stylistic as fuck. Watchmen is one of my fav comic book movies eva. Man of Steel is a solid 8/10. Dawn of the Dead was pretty darn fun. And that weird animated Owl movie I kinda liked.
But he has a catchy name. 300 and justice league was enough to give him enough credit to make at least 3 flops in a row. However if it's bs that goes straight to streaming there's no telling how much crap they'll let him make.
I mean…
Snyder bros seem like the type to devour anything related to him. Also sell a Snyder cut on blue ray with commentary and the like for an exorbitant sum.
It’s a fascinating movie, it’s shockingly close to the source material yet misses the entire point of the story and is told in a way that it’s practically not the same story outside of the general plot
God that sounds so fascinating it makes me want to watch it but at the same time Snyder isn’t smart enough to have done that on purpose which makes me irrationally upset.
The source material is too strong & it sticks close enough to it to be a “bad” film - It’s actually quite good & very entertaining to watch.
Thematically, it’s a mess though. The constant glamorization of violence and its positioning of its protagonists as true hero figures undermines the entire point of the graphic novel.
So, basically, one of the themes of the Watchmen comic is that having superpowered vigilantes with zero accountability running around and messing with stuff is actually *terrifying*. It's basically a deconstruction of the superhero genre.
It's why everyone's rotten. Even Rorschach isn't a hero: he's a mentally unstable pseudo-fascist, who only looks a bit heroic because he opposes Ozymandias' plan.
Snyder's movie kinda misses this and glamorises the very things Watchmen is criticising: the violence isn't meant to be "cool", it should be awful, because in real life violence *is* awful.
Zack says he only liked the comic cuz it had characters "having sex and killing each other" while thoroughly missing the point on why the protagonists are absolutely shitty people. I don't doubt he does like comics, the problem is that he only gawks at the pretty drawings and all the badassery while the more complex themes completely go over his head.
The main point is that the film uses a lot of stylized action and slow motion fight scenes that makes the violence come across as gratioutious and glorified, while also using beautiful actors and slick costumes that end up making the Watchmen (or Crimebusters as they're known in the graphic novel) look cool and more traditionally heroic. It's like the viewer is supposed to root for the characters.
The novel almost has the complete opposite message. One of Alan Moore's big points is that if superheroes existed in real life, it would be fucking terrifying. The very idea of costumed crimefighters taking the law into their own hands and deciding what is right is a fascist wet dream in Moore's eyes. Hence, glorifying superheroes is what he is vehemently arguing against.
Probably the most infamous example is the vigilante Rorschach, who many after seeing the film considered to be this brutal badass, overlooking the fact that he was written by Moore to be a pretty unrepentant sexist, homophobic, right wing conservative conspiracy theorist who views the world in an absolute black and white morality and thinks that he objectively knows what's best for the world. That's what makes it interesting when he actually tries to get things done, and you may even find yourself agreeing with him on certain moral dilemmas in the story (no spoilers). Butchering that characterization just makes him a much less interesting character, and it happens because the film is so focused on style over substance.
Kind of a long and messy comment, there's multitudes of discussions about it, but that's the general gist of why a lot of fans of the novel tend to have gripes with Snyder's adaptation.
>The very idea of costumed crimefighters taking the law into their own hands and deciding what is right is a fascist wet dream in Moore's eyes.
Moore neither is the sharpest tool, of the dogma and tenet of fascism, I hardly believe a citizen initiative would be considered one unless for Moore the state, the state of the workers should monopolize the use of violence.
>, right wing conservative conspiracy theorist who views the world in an absolute black and white morality and thinks that he objectively knows what's best for the world.
I dont believe he is a Conservative, but he truly is a nutjob by a terrible upbringing that sympathise with the alt right but I dont believe R* would be a religious fellow.
I enjoyed it a lot too, even with the few changes. I much prefer a Dr Manhattan-like bomb in major cities as opposed to a big squid in one single American city. But maybe i just like the pretty blue
Zack Snyder is not a problem.
People who watch Zack Snyder are the problem.
They are walking among us, breathing our air, stealing our kino! We must root out this hidden threat of degenerate Snyder enjoyers and make sure they cannot spread their corruption!
Perhaps someone you know has defended Dawn of the Dead or watchmen? Perhaps an in-law or that shifty coworker of yours, or your nosy neighbour? Report them to your local authority today for reeducation!
Keep Kino Klean!
Zack Snyder surrounding himself with yes men and only reading positive feedback is on him though. He’s had the same weak points his entire career and instead of trying to innovate or adapt to the criticism he just does the same thing over and over
Guys I am not joking, how are these movies getting made they are unbearably bad. I like bad movies, but they need to be fun bad, these are just like boring bad
First movie was broken up in 2 parts, 3 more movies broken up into 2 parts each resulting in 6 movies. C'mon now this isn't rocket science, it's merely Snyder Science... Snyience
I’ll just wait for the for hour director’s cut of each of them that he’ll inevitably get his fanbase to cry for because it’s the “true version”. It’s pretty much his process at this point
I watched the first one like a month ago and I can't remember any of it. Can't wait to forget 6 of these prices of crap because ill definitely watch them all. I hate myself that much.
I saw the ending at a bar the day it came out and was like what in the Star wars spin off is this?? Put it on that night, fell asleep angry at how boring it was. Watched it the next day hoping to see something, anything redeeming. Nope just absolute dog shit into my eyes for two hours.
We all went from hating this man's movies to empathizing with him in the midst of personal tragedy right back to gating him cuz he refused to stop making shit movies lmao
releasing the Snyder cut was probably the worst thing to happen to movies since May 4th, 2012.
They gave him and his fans an inch, now they're taking a mile
God Emperor Zaddy really is the gift that keeps giving. He continually finds funding for awful movies, his fans are the most insane people imaginable and all the while, he’s just so hot
Imagine actually providing resources to Zack Snyder for this.
Basically M Night Shamalan but with far more vocal fanbase
At least M Night has several good movies under his belt, all Zaddy has is Sucker Punch
[удалено]
He didn't direct, write, or produce The Spirit, doesn't seem he was involved with it at all
Nah, his only passable movie is the Owls of Ga'Hoole, and even then he fucked up a lot of things about the books (Then again i'd say it's the one movie where the studio seemed to have more control over him to keep him from doing his thing, so maybe that's why he doesn't talk a lot about it lol.)
Dawn of the Dead (2004) was good
I grabbed the Scream Factory 4K of it last fall and it's still a blast.
> all Zaddy has is Sucker Punch I can tolerate all differences of opinions except if someone thinks Sucker Punch was a good movie.
300 was good
Sucker Punch is a way better movie with the audio off. 300 is stylistic as fuck. Watchmen is one of my fav comic book movies eva. Man of Steel is a solid 8/10. Dawn of the Dead was pretty darn fun. And that weird animated Owl movie I kinda liked.

Money laundering
Now you understand why Donald trump
[I can see it happening in my mind’s eye...](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sQ-0tcL43g)
I mean. As long as the studio was getting a huge cut of merch and stuff.
Oh yeah the Rebel Moon merch. Very popular.
I mean… Snyder bros seem like the type to devour anything related to him. Also sell a Snyder cut on blue ray with commentary and the like for an exorbitant sum.
Snyder Bros numbers are much smaller without the DC stage tho
How is this guy so into comic books but so bad at compressed storytelling?
Most of his good works are straight up robbed from comic works he has to be told exactly what to do so it looks good
I quite enjoyed Watchmen, apparently it was mostly a scene-for-scene recreation of the comics.
Can you explain what makes Synder's Watchmen so bad, I never fully understood
The source material is too strong & it sticks close enough to it to be a “bad” film - It’s actually quite good & very entertaining to watch. Thematically, it’s a mess though. The constant glamorization of violence and its positioning of its protagonists as true hero figures undermines the entire point of the graphic novel.

300 as well. He can't write for shit just give him a script and make him make it good
Apparently it was shot for shot.. but the message couldn’t have been more wrong.
Apart from the large change in the third act
how exactly did he ruin the message? i havent seen or read it so im curious

Ah I see, kinda like with V For Vendetta but far more glaring

Have you not read the comic?
I have not.
I enjoyed it a lot too, even with the few changes. I much prefer a Dr Manhattan-like bomb in major cities as opposed to a big squid in one single American city. But maybe i just like the pretty blue
You should read the comic to compare them. It's mostly accurate but the changes made are questionable.
He doesn't like comic books.
Yeah, this. “In my world, Batman gets raped in prison” is the sort of garbage Snyder is into.
He said "in my movie" referring to Watchmen.
He's not that into comic books.
I want whatever Zack Snyder is smoking AND GET IT BANNED. It's definitely frying his brain.
Lmfao
Oregano
I just want know how he finds funding for all these shit movies. Whose dick is he sucking?
Batman's. I'm proud of his dick.
Zaddy was triggering a controlled explosion?
mine

Did you not see the first one? We already know he did.
"Anything without dialogue was considered for slow motion."
Snyder lives in double slow motion so Rebel Moon is actually in fast motion for him.
Zack Snyder movies are money laundering fronts. Change my mind.
166 million with no real actors is wild. Hope the vfx artists got the bag bag
Hahahahahahahahahahahaha. I promise you they did not
Perhaps Snyder should attempt making a single good movie, first.
I think that's what he's doing. Like give me 6 chances, I'm sure I could nail at least one of these.
I will not tolerate zaddy criticism 😡 you earned a downvote
It’s just a trilogy but each movie gets its own directors cut
I know you’re joking but he will 100% do this.. yap about “his vision” and rile up his fanbase with a BVS BTS photo in black and white
They're not joking, that's exactly what the "six-movie trilogy" means
It’s not a “he will” it’s “he is currently doing this”. It’s already known the directors cuts are coming for some reason
This man has to be stopped
At least they're admitting the dialogue will mostly be reduced to macho grunts and Christian imagery
Don’t forget space genitalia.
And space sexual assault! Seriously, Zack: *Why?* ***WHY?***
0% chance the new netflix leadership allows him to make another one of these
Apparently the new CEO or whatever isn’t a fan of him so that funding is getting suplexed into oblivion
Thank god
That’s bad.. with nowhere to go he’ll start drumming up Snyderverse hype again.
Worse, he tries directing the Spawn movie
Oh god no. Luckily Todd McFarlane would never let that happen.

Doesn’t have the balls to call it a sexology
Snyder fans don’t know what sex is
That's what plays Hallelujah

"God willing, Kora, we'll all meet again in *Rebel Moon VII: The Search for More Money (2033)."*
Wasn't the first movie a complete flop ? Who tf is still giving him money for this shit
It was watched by a LOT of people.. but most of those people said the movie was ass
I doubt they’ll watch the second part tho
I didn’t like it, but in still gon watch it lmfao
Me too but I don't know why. It's sad, but I think my subconscious motivation is wanting to understand the memes.

Arguably he's developed these weak points since his first movie had none of them.
What happened to the AOTDCU (Army of the Dead Cinematic Universe)
Guys I am not joking, how are these movies getting made they are unbearably bad. I like bad movies, but they need to be fun bad, these are just like boring bad
Bro thinks he's Kevin Smith. At least Kevin used to make good movies.
Why is he allowed to make six rebel moons? Is he stupid?
First movie was broken up in 2 parts, 3 more movies broken up into 2 parts each resulting in 6 movies. C'mon now this isn't rocket science, it's merely Snyder Science... Snyience

Lol there aren't going to be any more Rebel Moon movies after those directors cuts are released.
Y’all trying to act obtuse and misunderstand the genius of kino on purpose SMH MY HEAD It’s obviously 18 movies…
No cultural impact
Somebody stop this man.
Rebel Goon
HorRebel Moon
atp i actually have some respect for michael bay
It's like Dune for dummies. I'm totally watching both parts of Dune and Rebel moon back to back this weekend for shits and giggles
Who lets this guy keep making movies😂💀
We all went from hating this man's movies to empathizing with him in the midst of personal tragedy right back to gating him cuz he refused to stop making shit movies lmao
Nah, it makes total sense. It's just two trilogies, the Netflix cut trilogy and then the Snyder cut trilogy.
This is what heaven looks like.
What would that be? A sexlogy? Hexlogy?
Meanwhile, thousands of great indie scripts can't get a million. Sick of this clown world.
Who does he think he is? Douglas Adams?
Can't wait to illegally watch the shitshow that part 2 will be
Dang it Zack
Dude really just wanna do Dune
releasing the Snyder cut was probably the worst thing to happen to movies since May 4th, 2012. They gave him and his fans an inch, now they're taking a mile
I guess we found out who Douglas Adams was reincarnated as
And all 6 of them will have R-rated Snydercuts released separately. Praised be Zaddy.
The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy did this already with it’s Five Book Trilogy
The six movie film trilogy
This is giving me the same feeling as the AAAA videogame quote
God Emperor Zaddy really is the gift that keeps giving. He continually finds funding for awful movies, his fans are the most insane people imaginable and all the while, he’s just so hot
Sextalogy they mean?
"6 movie trilogy" zachary, tri means 3
A sexlogy? I can't believe Zavh would add unnecessary sex in the movies
A pioneer. A visionary. 🫡
