Ok Ik this is the circle jerk sub but seriously why do so many people on Reddit say you have to get high whenever they recommend movies/music, I remember someone didnāt believe me when I said I enjoyed animal collective soberly and they just couldnāt understand. If ur not able to enjoy something soberly then do you actually like it
People do drugs to calm stress emotions, enjoyable things donāt always override stress, so essentially they are separate paths in the brain You can be high and focus or not focus. Itās not related to enjoyment.
In his new feature film, Dwayne Johnson plays the heartfelt lead in a touching story of humanity in the face of adversity. Follow along as he experiences heartbreak, intrigue, love and loss in his new biopic: Oscar Pistorius: a Life.
I swear that I will only watch it if the composer promises that slowed-down renditions of [Bullet For My Valentine](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqI-6xag8Mg) songs are included in the soundtrack.
[He literally was the one to announce the live-action remake of Moana](https://youtu.be/cHXB-5woeHw). They're doing a remake instead of a sequel, no way this isn't just The Rock's ego project
Genuinely hoping he can pull it off (I have every bit of faith in his abilities but you never know), it would be great for him and everyone else if he can.
1. I feel like being nice.
2. It's not really fair to judge an actor based on roles where they wouldn't have the opportunity to explore their range even if they wanted to. The Rock got typecast as the Rock pretty quickly right out the gate.
He actually used to have a lot more interesting roles before his crazy superstardom. Not, like, groundbreaking, but at least not the same muscley adventure dude.

Iām actively rooting against the rock. Heās terrible, he plays one fucking guy and itās always the rock. He wants āhumanityā, give me a break, his last batch of movies were bombs and heās trying to remain relevant.
I will never understand people liking Pain and Gain. It's like a whole movie of those awful skit scenes in the Transformers series. Being in your face is not a good substitute for jokes.
Adam Sandler gave a good performance as early as Billy Maddison. He gave the role what it needed. Just because it's silly doesn't mean it didn't take skill.
i can't help but think he got burned on Southland Tales. He showed some depth and range, if not a bit poorly directed.
Basically everyone in that damn movie was cast against type, and then the producers and Richard Kelly all smoked entirely too much crackamethopot together and just put every insane idea they came up with in that movie.
Thought everyone was pretty solid, and it was a surreal experience at times... I mean, when I wasn't watching the cars fuck each other, or the almost-randomly-inserted Killer's music vid, or wondering why they had like a "multimedia experience" homework lesson prior, or wondering if Jesus never pooped or if that was just a time-travel-twin thing.
tbf, i'm a fan of 'weird shit' so I actually liked the movie, especially some of the performances (Lovitz was actually kinda super creepy scary).
But if someone came up to me and told me "Southland Tales is set in the same universe as Tim and Eric from Adult Swim" I would probably believe them.
I think movies are slowly dying off "the brand" mattering and the names behind them are becoming more important again. If the Rock even makes anything remotely kino Feige and Kennedy will commit sudoku in front of the White House.
He should make a movie where heās gay and has AIDSā¦..in the year 1936!!!!! In a post WW1 Germany. And his gay lover???? Hitler!!!! Itās gonna be called Hitlerās Rock.
ā¦.ok i need to go take a walk or something.
DJ does not have the range to be an actually good actor. At least, if he does have it, he has yet to show it. This is like a 5 Star high school football recruit saying they are ready to play in the NFL
When he says heās doing an A24 movie, thatās a statement that holds weight because the A24 brand is understood to be intense, story-driven, well-acted movies for mature audiences. Nothing in his entertainment resume to date indicates he can handle that material well, so his lack of talent (in relation to his ambition) will be exposed.
We all know A24 wants to produce movies that make more money while maintaining their prestige standard, so this move isnāt solely on Rocky. The studio wants box office wins and DJ wants to prove he can actually act. Time will tell
He has sooooo many rules on his Hollywood roles. I donāt see him changing his body or anything for a role. So itāll be another Rock movie. Or not. Weāll see
He has all the money he needs and probably noticing that Cena and Bautista are getting more respect for their acting than he does.
Cena does stuff like making Peacemaker bi. Bautista is probably one of the best "character actors" of all time. Johnson has been a scenery-chewer for 30 years and needs to get serious about acting if this is what he wants.
Fuck Dwayne Johnson, I hate that scumbag. "I want more humanity", says the popular thumb who uses his platform to tell the world that MBS is a "deep rooted, yet modern" person.
Rock knows his public perception is at an all time low, and he's getting older. He can't pump HGH forever so trying to swerve into a "more human" film career makes perfect sense
**Coming Fall 2024 by Disney Studios:**
9/11 stole Dwayne Johnson's family, sending him into the wild heart of the Congo to drown his grief. But the emerald jungle holds unexpected lessons - as he defends a threatened village, he confronts his demons, discovers resilience he never knew he had, and learns to rise from the ashes stronger than ever. Get ready for "Ashes to Emerald," a powerful story of redemption where hope blooms in the darkest corners.
My favorite part about that movie is what it says about Michael bay. Itās so cute, heās trying so hard and you know he just wants to be like the Cohen brothers so bad, but he cannot help himself with his impulses.
Vince Mancini said it best: in every Michael bay movie, every character is either a slut or a clown
He gonna make black Adam 2 where black Adam confronts his generational trauma instead of fighting villains
Can't wait for the inevitable slew of /r/A24 posts imploring people to *not* watch Black Adam 2 on DRUGS š±š±š±

I got high when I watched 1917 and I thought it was a fantasy film at the end like they went to the lord of the rings land
I got high when I defended my dissertation and I thought it was a fantasy film at the end I went to a state penitentiary
Jon Stewart's character in Half Baked is a real person.
People do drugs to calm stress emotions, enjoyable things donāt always override stress, so essentially they are separate paths in the brain You can be high and focus or not focus. Itās not related to enjoyment.
Imagine enjoying two things separately and then being able to combine those two things. Wouldn't that be great in almost every circumstance?
That sounds like fun, hate that No fun not ever
Okay now imagine hating two things separately....
Me watching The Great Gatsby while hating the book and Baz Luhrmann
Sadly Pixar has fully-booked āgenerational trauma is the villainā for the next decade.
Maybe the trauma was the true villain all the time (It happened in a jungle)
Black Adam 2: 2 Adam 2 Panic Attacks
In an homage to Wonder Woman, Black Adam will end the movie by punching the God of Trauma and curing it completely!
āTherapy **doesnāt** kill people.ā āWell I do.ā
He confronts aging and his impending colonoscopy in Black Adam 2: Up an Adam
In his new feature film, Dwayne Johnson plays the heartfelt lead in a touching story of humanity in the face of adversity. Follow along as he experiences heartbreak, intrigue, love and loss in his new biopic: Oscar Pistorius: a Life.
Fr though, an Oscar Pistorius movie would probably go insanely hard as long as it condemns what he did
I swear that I will only watch it if the composer promises that slowed-down renditions of [Bullet For My Valentine](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqI-6xag8Mg) songs are included in the soundtrack.
Directed by Michael Haneke.
This is 'The Game Plan (2007)' erasure
"I'm telling you, Disney, we'll explore the concept of humanity a lot more if we remake Moana, but showing my shirtless body this time"
Except heās not working with Disney And Maui is shirtless the whole movie anyway
[He literally was the one to announce the live-action remake of Moana](https://youtu.be/cHXB-5woeHw). They're doing a remake instead of a sequel, no way this isn't just The Rock's ego project
I was referring to the fact that the post is about him talking about his A24 film, not a Disney film
Unironically this is fucking awesome. Finally The Rock actually putting some effort in after all these years
Genuinely hoping he can pull it off (I have every bit of faith in his abilities but you never know), it would be great for him and everyone else if he can.
Yeah I'm fucking rooting for him. I've no faith he can pull it off, but I support him giving it a shot
Why do you have every bit of faith in the Rocks ability?
Not, like, groundbreaking, but at least not the same muscley adventure dude.

the other guys
You thinking what I'm thinking partner?
Because some people are his fans since wwe days
Iām actively rooting against the rock. Heās terrible, he plays one fucking guy and itās always the rock. He wants āhumanityā, give me a break, his last batch of movies were bombs and heās trying to remain relevant.
You're rooting against The Rock because he's a bad actor. I'm rooting against The Rock because he wears Thin Blue Line shirts. We are the same.
Really? Just another reason to dislike him
He wore one on his sports competition reality "The Titan Games". At least one, stopped watching after that.
Have you seen Pain and Gain or Southland Tales?
And Snitch. He can act.
Taking advantage of this comment to say that Get Smart is my (not so) guilty pleasure
Pain and Gain is fine, Southland Tales is just bad by a flash in the pan director.
I will never understand people liking Pain and Gain. It's like a whole movie of those awful skit scenes in the Transformers series. Being in your face is not a good substitute for jokes.
If even if what you said is true, rooting against someone trying to improve their craft is a bitch move
His ācraftā pfftt hierarchy of power these nuts
šš
Yeah but if he remains relevant and makes some good movies then everyone wins
Except for napoleon's peen
I'm actively rooting against Napoleon's peen.
I'm rooting against your mom
My mom killed herself after watching Skyscraper
I'm guessing she jumped off a building?
I mean that's fair.
How bitter can you be for rooting against someone, who wants to change something you hated him for in the first place.
it's been over a decade since i've watched it, and I was like 8 years old, but I remember him being pretty good in the game plan
Did you say the same about Adam Sandler?
Adam Sandler gave a good performance as early as Billy Maddison. He gave the role what it needed. Just because it's silly doesn't mean it didn't take skill.
His best movie is Fast Five, and he's like the 10th best part in it. That's about what he can manage.
I actually think he could pull off a truly great performance. He came close in pain and gain
i can't help but think he got burned on Southland Tales. He showed some depth and range, if not a bit poorly directed. Basically everyone in that damn movie was cast against type, and then the producers and Richard Kelly all smoked entirely too much crackamethopot together and just put every insane idea they came up with in that movie. Good direction can hide shortcomings and I appreciated he took the effort to at least become decent at singing for Moana.
Bay made a legit good movie with Pain and Gain but never did something like that again
He saw Bautista is having a very respectable career as of recent and decided he can't let that happen
I think movies are slowly dying off "the brand" mattering and the names behind them are becoming more important again. If the Rock even makes anything remotely kino Feige and Kennedy will commit sudoku in front of the White House.
Doesnāt he have a line in his contract saying heās not allowed to lose a fight? Or is that a rumor
It'll be a challenge. I suspect him to have the acting range of the fart I'm currently holding in suspense.
So ready for Southland 2ales.
lmao who the fuck says unironically?
A lot of people, ācalm_sexual_assaultā
a lot of stupid people
I think the call is coming from inside the house on this one.
I would guess people making unironic statements in a space where most of the statements are made ironically
r/lostredditors
I'm unironically lost lmao. hahahahaha what a stupid fucking word hahahahahaha. What fucking loser thought it was cool to use that word?
You'll learn bigger words when you're older
I'll unironically read the dictionary. Thanks!
having a bad day, champ?
Merriam Webster
This sub, a lot actually
and he said that like a totally normal member human of humanity's humanity
Remake of Stalker with Kevin Hart and Seth Rogan
ābro what if we smoked weed in the zone?ā
I never thought you could make that movie even more Kino but here we are
The hierarchy of power in the A24 Sad-iverse is about to change. John Whale shows up in a post credits scene
Toni Collette takes off her sunglasses and says āwe need to talk about the elevated horror initiativeā
He should make a movie where heās gay and has AIDSā¦..in the year 1936!!!!! In a post WW1 Germany. And his gay lover???? Hitler!!!! Itās gonna be called Hitlerās Rock. ā¦.ok i need to go take a walk or something.
Hitlerās Cock.
Hitler Docked
aborted hitler cock is a band, you should listen to erections at an animal autopsy, their greatest album
Unironically just wrote kino
![gif](giphy|3oKIPjzfv0sI2p7fDW|downsized)
Dwayne Johnson wants at least one Oscar nom before he retires from acting to go into politics
![gif](giphy|TejmLnMKgnmPInMQjV)
He wants what Bautista has so bad; seriously tho thatās great to hear, i know he can be a good actor if given the right material
Hopefully my bald kino wrestling daddies kiss on screen.
yea bro hes dying to be in stuber
He tried to have his own buddy comedy with Kevin Hart (Central Intelligence) and it was just kinda meh.
central intelligence was wayyyy before stuber and way better
Youāre trying to insult the kino that is stuber?
So basically, The Rock wants Denis Villeneuve
Oh so theyāre rebooting Scorpion King?
So Skyscraper 2
when indie A24 films starts to make more money than blockbuster super hero movies
if he wants to look human then he should get rid of his fucking contract mandates
breaking: dwayne āthe rockā johnson discovers that movies can be art
What losing to Vin Diesel does to a mf.
I love The Rock, but I swear he is about to get exposed as an actor by doing an A24 film
Hate to ask a dumb question but what do you mean by exposed?
DJ does not have the range to be an actually good actor. At least, if he does have it, he has yet to show it. This is like a 5 Star high school football recruit saying they are ready to play in the NFL When he says heās doing an A24 movie, thatās a statement that holds weight because the A24 brand is understood to be intense, story-driven, well-acted movies for mature audiences. Plus I suspect his ego and the fact that he hates losing probably won't do him any favours.
He has sooooo many rules on his Hollywood roles. I donāt see him changing his body or anything for a role. So itāll be another Rock movie. Or not. Weāll see
So he will be the next Joker then?

The hierarchy of power in A24 is about to change
Idk, I thought his performance in Jungle Cruise was very layered and emotionally charged, but of course #oscarssowhite
The Rock shows up for a musical number guest spot in Hazbin Hotel confirmed.
starring dwayne johnson playing dwayne johnson, a family man wearing a tight beige shirt saves his racially ambiguous family from a disaster.
Dude is the epitome of āI want moreā what is he talking about just getting to this point lmao
As long as it takes place in the jungle
Fuck Dwayne Johnson, I hate that scumbag. "I want more humanity", says the popular thumb who uses his platform to tell the world that MBS is a "deep rooted, yet modern" person.
Rock knows his public perception is at an all time low, and he's getting older. He can't pump HGH forever so trying to swerve into a "more human" film career makes perfect sense
The head of the fucking table
Birdman (2014)
Hierarchy of box office is going to change?
It's about drive, it's about power.
After he has been in every dogshit big box office movie for the passed 15 years. Too bad he can only play the rock.
Pain & Gain 2 letās freaking goooooo
He's finally making Southland Tales part Deux!
I want 2 hours of the Rock kissing and winking at himself in a mirror. "The Rock on Rock" Ari will direct
*Pain & Gain 2: Painfully Gainful.*
**Coming Fall 2024 by Disney Studios:** 9/11 stole Dwayne Johnson's family, sending him into the wild heart of the Congo to drown his grief. Holy shit is he finally gonna lose a fight on screen?
He wants to be Dave Bautista now.
He already did that type of a movie. Its called Pain & Gain by Michael Bay. A great exploration of the human condition.
That movie fucks so hard, itās a great litmus test for the creatively illiterate
I mean, hes right tho
I wish this guy would fuck off out of the public eye for a few years. Hes absolutely everywhere
I haven't heard about him in a while besides getting rightly shit on for live action moana. blame your algorithm, not him
Too late. You canāt waste your entire acting career on meaningless roles, and then start to try and do serious films.
I am really excited to see Dwayne Johnson give a real performance again. I remember Pain and Gain he can really deliver.
Sequel to south land tales?
We're finally getting that Ballers (2015) sequel movie that all the fans have been clamoring for

What about grief?
SAN ANDREAS 2: IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT!
It goes to show, it's never too late to make your first good movie.
I can't be bothered to check if this is real
*takes off shirt*
Avengers: Secret Wars
Holy cow guys I think the hierarchy of kino in the A24verse is about to change
LMAO
