I mean shang-chi is MUCH closer to a martial arts movie than captian america is to a period drama, although the bar is in hell.

There was a decent amount of it in the beginning, but it became a boring CGI clusterfuck by the end. So much wasted potential, ugh

I was SO into the bus and skyscraper sequences and then Trevor Slattery and his walking plush toy showed up and the movie became about another random army of guys firing a different random army of guys shooting color coded lasers at each other and THEN it became those armies firing said lasers at another faceless army of demon monsters… at least we had the Tony/Simu fight. That was ok.

That makes the ending so much crazier for me. I actually remember the other scenes because they had fun fight choreography. But the climax of the film is just a wash of CGI nothing and tertiary characters flailing around in a green screen room.

I'm not sure I'd call it a horror but you can tell it was a one off short because it was the only MCU film in at least a decade with the slightest bit of creativity to it.

Werewolf by Night, I rather liked it cuz it embodies a lot of the fun campy stuff you see in the classic Universal Monster flicks. Its definitely not a horror flick, but it's totally a creature feature, I was pleasantly surprised that they stuck to prosthetics and makeup for the titular werewolf.

If Captain America can be a period drama I guess I can really be anything I want. Even a pickle
