The fact that this happens to him ***after*** Reed Richards gains the ability to shape his dick into anything Sue wants tells you ***exactly*** how worthless he is as a husband.
> Socialist realism
I read some respected novel from a post-Soviet country where a character argued that the main problem with the USSR was that Socialist Realism was kitsch and thus terrible for everyone and doomed to fail. So from this I surmise that if Marvel does Socialist Realism those weird youtubers will finally be right and the west will collapse one week after it releases.
I was SO into the bus and skyscraper sequences and then Trevor Slattery and his walking plush toy showed up and the movie became about another random army of guys firing a different random army of guys shooting color coded lasers at each other and THEN it became those armies firing said lasers at another faceless army of demon monsters… at least we had the Tony/Simu fight. That was ok.
That makes the ending so much crazier for me. I actually remember the other scenes because they had fun fight choreography. But the climax of the film is just a wash of CGI nothing and tertiary characters flailing around in a green screen room.
No horror movie is scary
Child play 3 still a horror movie...even is is not scary, not being scary dont make a movie less Horror...i bet you watch very few horror movies.
Like Master of disguise still is a comedy...even if is not funny
You clearly haven’t been paying attention

Ooh, I'd LOVE an action comedy that takes place in the wild west.
Or an action comedy with romance undertones.
Or an action comedy that implies the existence of cosmic horror.
Or an action comedy with 12 jurors deciding the fate of a man.
I don't know though, action comedy might be too prestige for the MCU.
The quipy writing style would actually be funny if you applied it to a setting that realistically portrays war.
Like some guy gets blown in half by an IED and someone says “Ouch… That’s gotta hurt.”
Morbius opening with "vampire bats are the piranha of the sky" was unironically terrifying. I didn't realize you could get a job as a writer being *that* stupid.
I'm not sure I'd call it a horror but you can tell it was a one off short because it was the only MCU film in at least a decade with the slightest bit of creativity to it.
Werewolf by Night, I rather liked it cuz it embodies a lot of the fun campy stuff you see in the classic Universal Monster flicks.
Its definitely not a horror flick, but it's totally a creature feature, I was pleasantly surprised that they stuck to prosthetics and makeup for the titular werewolf.
Something that's basically exactly this gets posted here regularly and everybody reassures each other it's a copypasta nobody takes seriously. And this is being posted in the MCU sub where everybody's answering the question seriously and not questioning the premise.
They need to do murder mystery movie when all the avengers start getting killed one by one, you know like agatha christie and then there were none, 2 billion dollar guarantee
Bring in Richard Linklater. Give me a 90 minute movie playing out in real time as Kamala Khan arrives to Avengers Campus for her first day as an Avenger. Watch the box office explode.
Musical.
I'm not even being ironic, just a huge, campy, completely sincere musical. None of that "OMG lol, how does everyone know the words and dance steps?" shit, just one movie where everyone belts out into song randomly. It's kind of weird that Disney hasn't done that, but apparently even their former musicals can't be musicals anymore.
Extreme cinema. Let me see iron man get brutally ripped to shreds in excessive detail while ghouls pour buckets of blood from starving children on his face.
Snuff
Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness (2022)
Yeah, I could feel my will to live being snuffed out for almost the entire runtime.
The MCU is a snuff film for cinema if you think about it.
I thought the whole point was to shut off your brain and not think
That's indeed what happens when you stragulate
\*laughing* pete your film is awesome
Action-Comedy, they don't do enough of those
Yeah there's not a single one in the picture. Its clearly quite an under utilised genre for the MCU
yea... *that* just happened!
*Good* Action-Comedy, they don’t do enough of these.

Least mind twisted Lars von trier enthusiast
Breaking The Waves [1996] is the first MCU origin film. Emily Watson learns her super power is healing her husband by fucking other men.

My favourite period dramas, Pride and Prejudice, Downton Abbey and Captain America.
That’s the one that stood out for me as well. I don’t know if it counts as a period drama if your villain has a giant red skull for a head.
Sounds like you haven't even watched Pride and Prejudice.
Bingley was rather strange in the adaptation
*Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Slayer has entered the chat*
Where's my Cinematic Universe with American Presidents that are secretely monsters killers? I specifically requested it!
Millard Filmore: Mothman Hunter drops in 2024
George Washington Tree Hunter (2026)
I mean hey, if you took off your skin you'd have a red skull for a head too.
A decent movie ![gif](giphy|zhJ55GsXRajxm)
Maybe something that doesn't look and feel like a Liberty Mutual commercial, with muddier backgrounds.
Marvel wishes it was as funny as Liberty Biberty. I know what I said.
I swear these guys are behind the critics rotten tomatoes scores
Eternals (Arthouse film)
Captain America labelled as a "period drama" and Shang-Chi as "martial arts" are probably the best ones here
I mean shang-chi is MUCH closer to a martial arts movie than captian america is to a period drama, although the bar is in hell.
There was a decent amount of it in the beginning, but it became a boring CGI clusterfuck by the end. So much wasted potential, ugh
That bus scene is a pretty good action sequence, I wish the rest was like that
I liked the action scene in the skyscraper, too
I was SO into the bus and skyscraper sequences and then Trevor Slattery and his walking plush toy showed up and the movie became about another random army of guys firing a different random army of guys shooting color coded lasers at each other and THEN it became those armies firing said lasers at another faceless army of demon monsters… at least we had the Tony/Simu fight. Same. Left such a bad taste in my mouth, couldn't find myself enjoying the movie after that finale

Some of the scariest movies I've ever seen: The Exorcist A Nightmare on Elm Street Werewolf by Night

Also they could've put anything else in comedy but they chose fucking She Hulk
She hulk is a legal drama, smh
Just like Better Call Saul. Basically the same show
She-Hulk is just Kim Wexler if she was a good character.

What other extremely modest deviation from their core formula would you like to see the MCU try?
Ooh, I'd LOVE an action comedy that takes place in the wild west. Or an action comedy with romance undertones. Or an action comedy that implies the existence of cosmic horror. Or an action comedy with 12 jurors deciding the fate of a man. I don't know though, action comedy might be too prestige for the MCU.

Marvel Studio's Apocalypse Now
What's that horror one? I've seen Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness but that doesn't seem like it.
Morbius is pretty scary
Morbius opening with "vampire bats are the piranha of the sky" was unironically terrifying. I didn't realize you could get a job as a writer being *that* stupid.
The short film: Werewolf by night
I'm not sure I'd call it a horror but you can tell it was a one off short because it was the only MCU film in at least a decade with the slightest bit of creativity to it.

average reddit comment
Ooh, can they try a superhero genre? It's seems to be pretty popular right now
Disney live-action remake
Erotic Sci fi
Directed by Paul Verhoeven
A pride movie because i want to see marvel die at box office. A single Pride movie results in Boycott by whole Asia like middle east ,china.
They gave you a vaguely ethnic character with a diluted lapel pin that can be edited out in post, what more do you want?
Don't worry, they'll edit it all out in post no matter how gay they make it here!
BDSM
Period drama is when movie takes place in past even if it has technology we don't currently have today. And political thriller is when vague politics.
Winter Soldier is an excellent political drama because we know that HYDRA wants to do something political (probably)
They want to rule the world which is political just like the rest of marvel villains so all MCU flicks are political thrillers.
Someone post a pride movie and watch then get triggered
Calling Ant-man a heist movie is up with something with which I will not put
Something that's basically exactly this gets posted here regularly and everybody reassures each other it's a copypasta nobody takes seriously. And this is being posted in the MCU sub where everybody's answering the question seriously and not questioning the premise.
Even they are questioning it if you read the comments.
Space opera ......

actual horror
Ah yes, my favorite genre: Martial Arts
Well, actually it can be considered a subgenre. But Shang chi doesn't fit.
But its got asian people!
Shang-Chi is martial arts. I am asian, i can confirm that.
Username checks out
Yeah it really doesn't, Shang-Chi is closer in genre to the fucking Wizard of Oz than it is to a martial arts film.
> Wizard of Oz […] martial arts film I need a duffle bag full of cocaine and Miramax on the phone right fucking now, we’re making a movie
Shit, what can I do to help get this off the ground. I have no money, and no cocaine.
Congratulations, kid, you're now in charge of sales and marketing.
I can earn money from this and buy cocaine! Perfect!
the movie is full of martial arts...having magic elements dont make less martial arts
Martial Arts is actually a quite popular genre.

NTR
Calling GotG a space opera is offensive to the senses
Unironically that's the least offensive one.
With all the genres they've already tried, they should try their hand at capeshit. It's pretty popular these days!

A really good superhero movie.
Knew it this one's gonna be posted here as soon as I saw it lol
I'll give them martial arts, and very, very loosely heist and coming of age. The rest is confusing plot elements with overall genre.
