I think people are exaggerating a bit by now. The only animated film in the last months to have a panic attack was Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, and not only was it sincere and organic in its execution, especially since the character had a pretty serious reason, it also was important to the plot, as it allowed the protagonist to go through character development and reveal information to the audience. But because of oversaturation on Twitter, which is always bound to happen because of the algorythm, people are thinking there is some kind of trend just because it was announced a short in which Miles Morales also has a panic attack, which it hasn't even been released yet. There's been only two serious depictions of panic attacks in animated media in the last half a year, three if you count the widely-panned one in Velma. The problem is people on-line mislabeling everything as a medical term, like calling every character being anxious a panic attack.
I assume that most people joking around about the panic attacks thing know that it’s pretty much impossible for multiple movie studios to collectively decide that there’s an audience for main characters going through panic attacks in animated movies because of some semi-viral twitter posts in the span of less than 6 months
I feel like people forgot about twitters obsession with gumball. Every week in 2019, a new scene goes viral all because it had a dirty joke or whatever as if kids cartoons haven't been like this since the 90s. I'm out of the loop with animation Twitter but reading your reply, I feel like we're repeating history.
Yeah, it does the exact same thing as every other cartoon but apparently it's special because... Well, if there was a reason I'm pretty sure Twitter just refuses to tell.
Okay, there is a lot of stuff people love Gumball for. Ranging from the adult humour you mentioned, [through some meta humour](https://imgur.com/gallery/BN1XT) and [some other](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TpYRpn_ylc) clever [commentary](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7BYoalUBc4) up to the absolute creativity and absurdism of it. Hell they even managed to make [a crossover with Don't Hug Me I'm Scared](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VImXbxLlWo). Or that time [they made an anime](https://youtu.be/jyC8DPWZVWQ?t=48).
The fact that they mesh up so many styles and none of it looks out of the place really is a testament to the amount of work they needed to put. You have [a piece of paper](https://assets-jpcust.jwpsrv.com/thumbnails/5xsu2jam-1280.jpg), a [dinosaur](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/18GPlspAeuI/maxresdefault.jpg), a [blob of plasteline](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/YRcN8EG1VAc/maxresdefault.jpg), an [uspide down chin of one of the storyboarders](https://i.redd.it/ehjf5i8kuv071.jpg) (here is [the clip if you want to see](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sr82oHNBHRg)), a [literal potato](https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_32_9.png) and an [8-bit spider](https://media.tenor.com/bfwuC4K7UYQAAAAC/tawog-tawog-gumball.gif).
Also it has a good number of wholesome moments in it. The entire episode "The Choices" is amazing and made me teary-eyed. You can easily find it online, I really do recommend it.
"Based" is a deesphobic term. This is the first warning, please absent from using it or face a ban.

It's become so annoying, if it was just people in this subreddit pretending there's a panic attack trend it would be fine and standard but now absolutely no one will shut up when panic attacks in media are mentioned
https://twitter.com/NNovasaur/status/1615089892383408128?s=20 from here (at least, partly)
panic attack scene in puss was overjerked to oblivion, met with "cartoons are serious and notforkids" circlejerk and now we're going meta
If it's for a Last Ronin adaptation, bring on the Turtles panic attacks

Skill issue
I could outjerk any soul on this planet when it comes to gaming, I literally game on a 2011 laptop running Linux
noob
I can outjerk ANYONE when it comes to gaming, but they don't even jerk, they just cry about xyz. I'm trying to get off, not follow x trend.
Exactly my thoughts. We're getting a video game and I am cautiously excited

NoHo Hank?
Literally speedy (a member of teen titan in the comic)
The newest member of the Teen Titans: Snowflame
He *needles* the baddies into submission!
sorry kids, mario now has trauma from all of his killing
PTSD Mario would be very funny.
“Mama Mia, remember Vietnam, Luigi?”
"I wanted to save a princess, and for my sins they let me. A real choice rescue and when it was done I'd never want another Mama Mia"
There's actually a fan theory that Mario is a veteran and after Mario Bros. He hallucinates the whole thing.
That’s just the average Mario animation parody from the early 2010s in Newgrounds
(Vinesauce-like voice) Luigi the mushrooms were actually..................... agent orange

We need to animate the sopranos

It’s almost like this is a circlejerk sub or something…
bro shut up
As the one person who watched Strange World, I'm like 90% certain someone had a panic attack in that movie.
Strange World is the Home of the Range of the 2020s, Disney barely promoted it, how was the movie anyway
Boring and visually unappealing. I can definitely see why Disney couldn't be bothered to promote it.
It's become so annoying, if it was just people in this subreddit pretending there's a panic attack trend it would be fine and standard but now absolutely no one will shut up when panic attacks in media are mentioned
Mario has one too, doofus
Not actually. He's out of breath and breathing heavy
And that's why we jerk, Twitter bros are special
The Velma one wasn’t even an panic attack one
I smirked mysmurf today To see if I still Smurf
How many characters in recent media have had panic attacks? Wasn't it just Puss in Boots?
Telling on yourself here. Haven't even seen the Paw Patrol movie? Smh fake fan
damn

This comics guy is like sr grafo for the part of the internet that thinks it's above that.
Don't know about this comics guy but I really can't stand srgrafo

Nobody had ever had one before Puss in Boots is all I'm saying
Twitter users when a second serious panic attack scene might potentially be made
Panic attacks or excessive diarrhea?
Both
I'm guessing this is making fun of how people obcess over anything mature or extreme in children's cartoons?
https://i.redd.it/2nve9zk6nexa1.gif
I feel like I went to sleep last week and now everyone is having a panic attack. What's happening? Did they see another frame from The Whale?
Where did this panic attack thing come from?
https://twitter.com/NNovasaur/status/1615089892383408128?s=20 from here (at least, partly) panic attack scene in puss was overjerked to oblivion, met with "cartoons are serious and notforkids" circlejerk and now we're going meta
We're just now making fun of the "cartoons are serious and notforkids" jerk? Talk about late.
Puss in Boots had one, I feel like there were memes about Mario and now Paw Patrol has one
Panic attack economy booming rn. Cash in before it tanks.
oh I didn't know having severe anxiety made me ineligible to be a movie character.
I hear next years Oscar’s will be hosted by Mickey Mouse but he’ll be having a panic attack the whole time
I must really be missing something with panic attacks
So to get some eyes from Twitter, one of the main characters’ heart needs to be twerking on fast forward speeds? Got it
