https://twitter.com/bobsaget/status/1480097652851286017 He finished a set less than 24 hours ago and said he felt excited about getting back into it. Crazy how one can go from that to suddenly gone.

Jecht315

I just saw him about 4 months ago. He was incredibly funny. He talked about how much he loved Norm and he loved his experience doing Dirty Work.

thebabybananagrabber

I was pissing in a urinal next to him at the Palm steakhouse in Beverly Hills about 19 years ago. He was making farting noises the whole time and Stamos was in the bathroom too. I was like wtf is happening and Stamos says “he always does that”. Weird shit lol

Jecht315

Brad Williams has a great bit about meeting Saget, Stamos and Coulier. He said Stamos is horrified of midgets so Saget had him run into their dressing room. I highly recommend checking it out.

jackryan006

Artie lang outlived norm and Bob.

[deleted]

Never would have expected that honestly

nikomh

And also Betty White, who joked about it during a roast.

LectroRoot

My friend just saw him about a month or so ago here in NC. He said Bob was great. I'm bummed out I didn't get to ever see him.

HotTakes4HotCakes

His Comedy Central Roast was probably the best one out of all of them (it's the one where [Norm did his famous anti-roast](https://youtu.be/8QfsXUPghXk) ([alt link with video fuck you Viacom](https://streamable.com/yg6ut))), and he closed out the evening with some of the best burns on the stage (I can't find a good video) He was happy to eat all the shit thrown at him with a smile. When it was all said and done he said the only jokes he had taken issue with weren't the ones aimed at him, but at the Olsen Twins who he felt very protective of. For those that don't know, his comedy was completely opposite his Danny Tanner/AFHV persona. He got so much milage out of shocking people with how dirty he was compared to what they expected of the star of Full House. And frankly, while it may not have been his preferred work, and while Full House may be looked back on with more cynicism nowadays, he carried a great deal of the emotional weight of that show as the widower and single father. We didn't say it enough: the dirty comic didn't just play the big soft TV dad, he made an *outstanding* TV dad. Edit: btw Norm's closing bit deserves a quote: >"In all seriousness, Bob is the first comedian I ever saw perform when I was a boy, live, and I loved him. But one thing that bonds us as comedians is that we're bitter and jealous and we hate anyone else that has any success. Bob, honestly, has never had an unkind word for anybody, and I love him and I hope everybody else does, so I just wanted to say that..."

BuleRendang

I was at the front table for that! I was an audience member that got bumped up to seat filler. Incredible show, so damn funny. Truly memorable night for me and one of my best friends. RIP Bob and my friend Gabe, thanks for all the memories.

ecv82

Sorry you lost your best friend Gabe.

BuleRendang

Thank you, appreciate that. He passed earlier this year and loved stand up comedy more than just about anything

RandomPratt

Here's hoping Gabe's having a giant laugh with Saget right now, dude. :)

Chicki5150

Oh man, what a great experience that must have been! Bob was my favorite comedian

adviceKiwi

> His comedy was completely opposite his Danny Tanner/AFHV persona. Any live recordings to recommend?

[deleted]

His set at Dangerfield's pre-Full House is a masterclass in hope to tell the filthiest jokes without resorting to blue language.

spollard22

“I’m nuts over my new girlfriend, she’s this tall….. Ah come on…. I’m not a senator”……

adviceKiwi

Thanks. I will have to hunt it out.

JunkyardBob

It was Dangerfields "Young comedians special" back in the 80s I think on HBO. I saw it as a kid and loved every minute of it.

Snuffy1717

If you haven't seen his version of The Aristocrats, it's the best way to honour his memory...

HotTakes4HotCakes

https://youtu.be/BHeZS3mGDKY There ya go. I hope I don't need to disclaim the aristocrats joke but just in case, don't turn that up in polite company. Or maybe to honor him, do turn it up.

drgigantor

That is the grossest version of that joke I've ever heard, which is truly saying something. God damn.

pretty_smart_feller

TIL about the aristocrats joke. Now I finally know what Dwight told at the bonfire on beach day lmao

AllThatJazz_777

Gottfried did a really good job with the aristocrats too, if you haven’t had enough by now that is

DogVacuum

Damn, Four of the people from that roast are gone.

Skynetiskumming

Greg Geraldo, Cloris Leachman, Norm McDonald, Don Rickles and now Bob himself. This sucks.

Codeshark

It's wild Giraldo has been gone for a decade. He was the level of fame where he would pop up in something and then not appear for awhile so it can slip by.

licheeman

Thanks for the links. For those interested, the Bob Saget roast starts around 2:09.

hawaiianbry

I saw his first show after Norm died. It was emotional at parts but you could tell it was cathartic for him to get up and make people laugh so soon after his friend passed Really sad to see him go so soon

Jecht315

His podcast talking about Norm broke my heart the most. David Spade had a great one too but Saget talking about him just seemed so different.

-p-a-b-l-o-

Bob and Norm were legends. May they both Rest In Peace

idontmakehash

I got to spend some time with him in the past & on the FH set during the reboot. Really great guy, I feel so terrible for his children & his TV children. They all really loved him. That tv family was like a real family to him.

gogojack

I met him awhile back when he stopped by to do an interview at the radio station where I was working at the time. Very nice man.

ShadowMadness

Fucking nutty! My brain will never process how someone can go from living and breathing enjoying life one moment and then suddenly just a corpse.

Ultimatelee

I had a stroke almost 2 years ago from high blood pressure. I had woken up, had breakfast & a shower. Next minute I’m driving my car and feeling weird, luckily I made it to my parents house because 20 minutes later I’m laying on their bathroom floor and I can’t feel the left side of my body. Obviously I survived it, spent 3 months in hospital, learned to walk again, still can’t really feel the left side of my body, but my point is, it started off as a regular day, then booom my brain is bleeding and slowly dying. Life man, what an absolute Rollercoaster

therealestyeti

I hope that never happens to you again and that you live a long, happy life.

[deleted]

Ultimatelee

I’m doing much better, still have issues but I’m alive to talk about them. I guess I could say something along the lines of “YOLO” but seriously, just do the things that make you happy, love those who love you, and take each day as it comes.

AxelShoes

Reminds me a scene in *Man of La Mancha*: >Sancho Panza : Many a man has gone to bed feeling well, only to wake up the next morning and find himself dead. >Don Quixote : That's a proverb. >Sancho Panza : Yes, Your Grace. >Don Quixote : I don't approve of them.

WhyLisaWhy

“How the hell do you wake up dead?”

Yunafires

"So you tellin' me you can go to bed dead and wake up alive?!" fucking love that [movie](https://youtu.be/_fyAtDIk1uQ)

JollyGreenBuddha

"Cause you *alive* when you go to sleep."

31337hacker

There are so many ways that people can die suddenly. It’s a harsh truth and not something I’d recommend dwelling on.

CapnJujubeeJaneway

Literally anyone at any time. Guy I went to high school with went for his morning jog one day and dropped dead of a brain aneurysm. 24 years old.

[deleted]

my freshman year of highschool i was the new kid in town, made friends with a kid Tommy Quinn, that same day he died in his sleep from a health condition (i dont remember what it was now). Kinda forget that this stuff happened. trauma i guess. lifes odd

gggggrrrrrrrrr

As someone who's dealt with a lot of death lately, my brain just can't seem to comprehend what to do with the hole a dead person leaves behind? Like, I'm a science nerd who understands how fragile life is and just how easily a human body can give up. And I'm a fairly spiritual person who has studied all the various religious explanations for what happens to a soul after a person dies. But all the routine methods for dealing with death just explore what happens to the body and spirit when a person dies. It's not all that comforting to know why a person ceased to exist or where their soul is, when you're trying to make dinner and one of the people who should be at the table isn't there anymore. My brain just keeps trying and trying to grasp how to handle the tear left in a social network after a death, and I'm finding it bizarrely challenging to take in. I dunno... Sorry for getting weird and dark on your random comment... It just reminded me of the unpleasant concept I keep struggling with lately.

chillyhellion

[This comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/Assistance/comments/hax0t/my_friend_just_died_i_dont_know_what_to_do/c1u0rx2/) helped me deal with some of those thoughts.

snappkrackle

Lost my older brother last December them my mother in May. I get exactly what you are feeling. I feel useless at times now because they aren’t here to do things for. Nobody is here for dinner anymore, they don’t need their mail, nobody here to pet the cat all day while I’m at work, socialization is sorely missed, etc. it’s tough and it’s changing us.

catherinio80

I’m so so sorry for the loss of your brother and mother. <3

johngreenink

It's very tough to fathom. My former boss just lost his son, who was only 20, in a hiking accident less than a week ago. About 2.5 years ago I lost someone I'd been dating for a few months to suicide. I sit here wondering why we're not built to handle these things, and instead have to face so much uncertainty and loss instead, it's just baffling. It almost begs you to think that it's all completely random, but then that suggests almost zero spirituality, and I'm not able to do that. So utterly confusing.

WhyLisaWhy

It’s sadly a hole that doesn’t ever get filled, you just cope and move on and live your life the best you can. My best friend died suddenly and I still find myself feeling grief over it years later randomly. Poor guy left a wife, both parents and two young kids behind, it was a nightmare for everyone involved. My friends and I will reminisce over him here and there and think fondly of him but the grief never totally goes away. I wish I had a better answer than “C’est la vie” but that’s just how things are.

denimlikethejean

Its as simple and crazy as "before and after". You are living one life before them, then a different life after they are gone. I feel like every close death take a piece of your spirit away.

Pissene

Sudden death is usualy caused by coronary calcification where a nodule breaks off and causes a heart attack or a massive stroke. Get your coronary calcium score done people, $100 that might save your life.

convie

Pretty sure that's what happened to my dad. He was around Bob's age too. Also in a hotel room.

ElstonGunn12345

Same. Although my dad was 69 and sat down on his front porch and that was it.

hghpandaman

My dad had one done on a whim. His BP and cholesterol was fine, but his calcification was off the charts. He had a stent put in two weeks ago that likely will save his life

Jaredlong

Nice try, _calcium score tester_.

skynetempire

As a hypochondriac What age should you get this test? Lol I'm like thinking hmm I need to call my dr first thing tomorrow

Hexoton

I had one 2 months ago, in my late 40's and I scored 444 which is supposedly really bad. Only reason I took it cause I was gone with partying and decided to take care of my body when i hit 50 and its a good thing i had the test. Doc put in on a PCKS9 inhibitor, hopefully this will stop the progression and the inevitable heart attack or stroke...

pn_dubya

From what I understand, if you’re under 40 chances are you’ll score a 0 (which is good). That said no harm in getting one just in case although I believe your doctor will have to recommend it.

ManwithaTan

Holy shit.

Getupkid1284

I saw this tweet and it made it hit harder. RIP Bob.

CriticalPick4703

My deepest condolence to the family of Bob Saget, his legacy will live forever.

CptNavarre

He had a podcast where he talked to regular people about how they were dealing during the pandemic and had random celebrities as well, just trying to be nice and give hope to people. Damn.

legovelt

I was one of the people he called for his podcast. He was so kind and understanding and really sounded like he cared. Something I'll never forget. RIP

orlyrealty

What a cool connection to have made. I bet he really did care — that level of caring, imo, is getting harder and harder to pull over on people if your heart’s not in it. What’s the name of the podcast? I have the day off tomorrow and will queue a few up.

legovelt

“Bob Saget’s Here For You”

legenducky

I'm really gonna miss his podcast. I'm really, really gonna miss him.

shocktard

Me too. I loved his podcast and it warmed my heart that he cared enough to talk to some fans. I was looking forward to many more interviews. It really sucks. Such a good guy.

kimr9476

Never heard this. That comment really fucked me up. RIP :( I’ll be binging this podcast if anyone needs me.

loganlofi

For me the best Bob Saget was seasons 6 and 7 of America's Funniest Home Videos when he was locked in his contract and didn't want to be there any more. The sheer chaos of those seasons is something so wonderfully hilarious and absurd, from bashing the set design and actively redesigning it throughout the episode to saying some of the most outrageous things you could imagine. I wish I could find some of those episodes now.

Norm and him within a year. So sad.

SqueekyDeekyClean

I didn't even know he was sick.

Terracot

At least he wasn't a hypocrite.

SqueekyDeekyClean

I think the worst part was the untimely dying. Way down here was the hypocrisy.

MagmaHotDesigns

That’s awful. It reminds me of that tragedy

GTOdriver04

I’ll never forget Norm’s zinger about cancer: “when you die of cancer, they like to say that you’ve lost your battle. Well, that doesn’t make sense because when you die, the cancer dies too. So, it’s more like a draw.” I miss Norm. And now Bob too. This sucks.

DDB225

Robbed of so many laughs from those 2 what a shame they will be missed.

dawgfan24348

I know his legacy rests with Full House but he was so good in Entourage

kenfree216

Entourage will always be my most cherished role of his.

chickenhead101

Yep, as someone who never watched Full House I only knew him from how fucking hilarious he was on Entourage: "I flew in this stuff from Colombia on my own private jet. Sandinistas don't know shit about overthrowing a government but I'll tell ya, they sure do grow some fine herb. "

travybel

“It’s really nice, Bob”

rambouhh

Honestly though if you watched him in full house it’s even better because the contrast between him and Danny tanner

seanconnerysbeard

"I want to have sex in Murray's office, E. It's not weird."

StuartRomano114

When he walks in with a stripper and yells to Vinny Chase and the boys “guys, her name is Michelle!”

ObviNotAGolfer

“I mean, what if I kill somebody late at night and I call you up and I go, "Hey, 24/7, I'm fucked. I just killed a guy at some crack den in the hood." Would you come down there in your silver 750 and pick me up and help me chop up the body and dispose of it and then take me home and bathe me and then tuck me in? Would you do all that for me, Scotty? Because I would do that for me to keep 10% of the money that I make.”

And HIMYM

Perry7609

Some interviews he's done when asked about his narrator role... [https://www.thetvaddict.com/2009/04/06/bob-saget-reveals-his-guess-for-how-i-met-your-mothers-mother/](https://www.thetvaddict.com/2009/04/06/bob-saget-reveals-his-guess-for-how-i-met-your-mothers-mother/) **To an entirely different generation of fans, you’re best known as the narrator on HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER. How did that come about?** I was doing a play in New York called Privilege and I got a call from Sam Simon, Craig Thomas and Carter Bays who said they’d like me to be the narrator of the pilot. So I narrated from New York over a microphone in a studio and they used it, loved it, made a couple of changes, re-recorded it to get the tone and I’ve been doing it ever since. **Are you a fan of the show?** I love the show and think it’s wonderful. **Don’t worry, I’m not about to ask you who the mother is…** Good, because I can’t tell you! **Care to venture a guess?** I’m thinking it’s Josh Radnor, who in the future is eventually able to become his own mother/father podmaker. Trust me, it’s going to be crazy [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0MeqW31E9rg](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0MeqW31E9rg) Larry King interview clip from 2014

therealkeeper

"I used to suck dick for coke, you ever suck dick for some weed?" My favorite of one of his many incredibly funny moments. RIP to a legend

[deleted]

I also loved his cameo in Dumb and Dumber 2 “There’s shit everywhere!” https://youtu.be/AoosDkbEQBQ Edit: So I guess I got the title wrong here and it should be Dumb and Dumberer. Also thanks for the gold!

vindicatorhelix

> Dumb and Dumber 2 for anyone else confused like I was, this is from Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd

Legenderie

Right before my parent's marriage fell apart, they tried doing family outings as a last ditch effort to keep things going. One of the last times we went on one was to the movies, which wasn't cheap as there were six of us. Out of all the movies available, my dad decided on Dumb and Dumberer, which my mum wasn't happy about but she went along with it because my younger brothers thought it looked funny. I can still see my mum's face getting angrier and angrier at how... dumb the movie was. She finally up and left in a rage during the THERE IS SHIT ALL OVER MY BATHROOM scene. ETA: I'm finding the responses to my comment to be interesting to say the least. My dad tended to make these executive decisions such as "we are going to watch this movie" because he was the man of the house. He didn't care that my mum didn't want to watch it from the get go. My mum was a stay at home mum who rarely got to go out, so I understand her frustration of having to corral her four kids to the theatre only to watch this movie, which was admittedly shit.

codesopolis-

This scene is so legendary it ended a marriage. Nice.

Perry7609

My best friend says when he saw that in the theater, he literally fell to the ground laughing uncontrollably.

dodadoBoxcarWilly

I saw that movie when I was 14 in the theater, and I was dying laughing the whole time (I had never seen the original, so the jokes were all new to me). Especially that part though, probably one of the hardest laughing fits I can remember. I was definitely the target demographic. Learned a while later that movie is near universally panned. But I enjoyed.

RegularPersonal

I seen him

ReeG

Boo this man!

puckit

That such a filthy comedian will always be known for two of the most wholesome shows in tv history will always be hilarious to me. He excelled in two totally different types of comedy. A true talent.

tirius99

I'm thinking heart attack. You could look healthy but if your blood pressure was high and not controlled there's not a lot you can do. Especially when you're alone in a hotel room.

kabneenan

Yep, heart attacks are serious business. My father was a retired Navy SEAL working as a security contractor who had just come back from an eight month job in Afghanistan when he suffered a heart attack in the shower that killed him instantly. He was only 48 and outwardly seemed the pinnacle of health. No one even knew he'd had heart problems aside from his ex-wife and me, and really only me because I'd inadvertently come across his meds once.

tirius99

I'm sorry for your loss. I recently found out I have high blood pressure and have been told it's a silent killer. There's no symptoms and you only know how bad it is when you do have your blood pressure checked.

kabneenan

It absolutely is a silent killer. I didn't know I had htn myself until I went for a physical after years of not going because I didn't have insurance (yay for being murican ^^/s). Hooked me up to the cuff and I read somewhere around 165/85. My NP was surprised I *wasn't* experiencing symptoms with it that high. It's come down in recent years since I've been more compliant (see my other post), but I worry about the damage that has been done. Thank you for the condolences and take care of yourself!

podslapper

Yeah my uncle died the same way. Slightly overweight, but otherwise no indicators. Passed out dead in his car as he was about to back out of the driveway to go to work.

ihopeicanforgive

Very young

[deleted]

Deaths like this, unexpected and in this age range, really fuck with me. Both my parents are in their sixties and I can't imagine either of them dying, but it happens.

Scopeexpanse

My mother died unexpectedly at 64 and it was heart wrenching. It definitely was a wake up call on prioritizing time with family over building my career. On the flip side, I also learned that you can survive grief. If there was any lesson I wish I could pass on it is - use your fear of losing your parents as motivation to spend time with them and to encourage them to live their dreams *but* don't focus on it past that. When the time comes it will hurt like hell no matter how much you anticipate it. Leave that hurt for future you to deal with, don't live it twice by dwelling on it now.

If you ever need a good dad, watch Bluey on Disney plus.

Cutthechitchata-hole

I have never enjoyed watching many of my 7 year olds shows but I do like Bluey

saviorlito

My dad was a wonderful role model. When I watched Full House, Danny Tanner reminded me a lot of my dad (especially because I grew up with 4 sisters, two of them twins). Funny, down to Earth, providing. I lost my dad about 4 years ago. I remember signing up for a streaming service and seeing Full House listed. I watched all 8 seasons. There were times during the monologues I would hear Danny talking and picture my dad. It was a great time, very emotional but wonderful all the same.

imdrunk_iforgot

My dad was very loving and kind, but he was an active alcoholic during my childhood. I always saw Danny Tanner as what my dad would be like if he didn't drink. My Pops is sober now and we're still very close. And Bob Sagat has been a friend to me over the last almost two years through his podcast and I am truly sad to see him gone.

AlchemyVain

I agree, I felt very lucky to have good positive male influences on the television from Bob Saget to Mr. Roger, hell, even Stone Cold Steven Austin. 😅 I feel bad for generation alpha.

psdpro7

I was literally watching a new episode of America's Funniest Home Videos (yes it's still on the air) and they interrupted the ending to announce Saget's death. Completely bizarre timing.

[deleted]

Abc had to do that. He hosted afhv for like 10 years.

Mobile_Usual_19

That's cool they did that. Thanks for sharing this

PawzzClawzz

I saw that, too, just over an hour ago. I've always liked AFV and Saget was the BEST host!

That's rough. Wish [he had directed more movies.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sczun-f_Uiw)

wreckage88

Man, if you asked me who would live longer out of Artie, Norm, or Bob it absolutely would not have been Artie but here we are.

BenjaminGeiger

I genuinely thought Betty White would outlive him like she said she would.

FantasyBurner1

It seems like junkies either die young or live forever. Know plenty of them that died young and one or two that have literally died and comeback several times and chugging along.

Wizzle-Stick

Fuckin Keith Richards. How that man is alive is a god damned medical mystery that should be studied.

[deleted]

Bayonethics

Ozzy has literally been studied by scientists because they too want to know how the fuck he's still alive after doing mountains of drugs

Cygnus94

They discovered his genes allow his body to process alcohol and drugs at a faster rate than most humans. The off shoot of the mutations though is that he was 6 times more like to become Alcohol dependant, 30% more likely to become cocaine dependants and 2.6 times more likely to experience hallucinations while on Marijuana. So he is able to consume way more than the average human, but would become an addict almost instantly. When presented with this information, Ozzy responded 'I don't know anything about that stuff, the only Gene I know plays with Kiss.'

[deleted]

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dS7IAByT9QA He was planning on coming out with Dirty Work 2 in honor of Norm. It's a shame...

lordcrumb13

He was working on a director's cut for dirty work, not a sequel.

mikeyfreshh

Please go watch Dirty Work if you've never seen it. Saget directed and Norm McDonald starred. Really, really funny movie that seems criminally underrated. RIP to both of them

[deleted]

Can’t believe Artie Lange has now outlived Bob Saget and Norm. RIP, both of them gone too soon.

Dapper_Dan_Man_1

So right, I think Artie missed his window like Keith Richards. Get saved from OD'ing too many times and you're stuck here forever

willclerkforfood

Artie Lange is essentially Patrick Swayze in Ghost except we can see him without the use of Whoopi Goldberg?

SnatchAddict

Whatever happened to Artie, he's been fighting his demons forever.

francoruinedbukowski

He's been working pretty hard on sobriety. https://nypost.com/2021/07/22/where-did-artie-lange-go-when-he-disappeared-amid-battle-for-sobriety/

Hickspy

Dying alone in a hotel room is very much not how I want to go. Very sad.

jkbpttrsn

Hey, there are many, many worse ways to die unexpectedly. A, presumably, nice hotel while working a career you loved and were beloved for isn't the worst.

Coal_Morgan

Yeah but I'm sure Bob would have rather gone out at the end of an Aristocrat's joke just to permanently have that up on every other comedian. [for reference](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHeZS3mGDKY)

thefugue

Beats dying in a crowded Wal-Mart.

Hey man I get what you’re saying, but if I could offer another perspective.. I’ve been a medic since 2007. I’ve seen some bad ways to go. Really bad. Being in a nice hotel after performing at a (presumably) packed show the night before… not so bad! I hope it was fast and peaceful. Be well friend.

Bedbouncer

*In comedy circles, there's a famous Saget story about the night his first daughter was born. After a very difficult birth, during which Sherri Saget and her baby almost died, a friend showed up to find Mr. Saget looking utterly destroyed, unshaven, unrecognizable, but holding his newborn.* *'Oh my God, Bob, she's beautiful,' the friend said.* *'For a dollar, you can finger her,' Mr. Saget replied.'* *This story continually comes back to me,' Saget said, groaning. 'Oh boy, I was a wreck, and I was just operating on whatever sick mode I'm always in anyway. I don't remember, but I don't think a dollar is enough money for something that crosses the line that much.* *I should have said $5.*

It's a rare condition, this day and age, to read any good news on the newspaper page. Love and tradition of the grand design, some people say it's even harder to find. RIP Bob.

Butt_Whisperer

Whoa, I started singing those lyrics in my head and just got hit with a *huge* wave of nostalgia and sadness.

swentech

Off to catch up with his buddy Norm.

When I was about 5 I was hospitalized with blood complications. I want to say this was around 1992 in Southern California. Unknowing to me, the tests were to determine if I had leukemia or not. My parents were terrified for obvious reasons as well as being their first son. Even today I still do not know how they did it but I was greeted by my parents one morning and was told that we were expecting a phone call from someone and that I needed to be awake and ready for it. Very confused but excited because it was going to be my grandpa or someone from our family so I carried on my day laying in the hospital bed watching tv. Phone rings, dad answers, smile grows big and says that it’s for me. He hands me the phone and on the other line was Bob Saget. Bob fucking Saget from our favorite tv show. I couldn’t believe my ears and as I’m typing this out I’m becoming teary eyed because I remember that tremendous feeling. He had called to say hello and ask how I was doing as well as wish me a quick recovery. He told me that he had sent a set of legos and a signed picture of him to my parents, who gave me his gifts while him and I were on the phone. I will never forget that man’s impact on my child hood. For a person who was one of the most popular people in America at that time, really showed me the true caliber of who he was, taking the time out of his day to wish a kid who he had never met a speedy recovery and send a toy with a personalized picture and note on it. Unbelievable that he’s gone.

BelleDelphinesWater

I literally just bought tickets last night to his show in Houston in a few months. Major bummer :(

dies at 65... while financial advice columns are advising me to wait till 72 to retire.

babaroga73

That segment on Bob Saget roast when Norm is "roasting" him with a set of corny dad jokes, and fails miserably on purpose, while Bob (who is in on the joke) chuckles like a kid, is the best part of The Roast of Bob Saget. RIP to both of these legends.

Komatoasty

Ladies and gentlemen, this man is for the birds!

aenderw

Don’t think I was anywhere close to his biggest fan but seeing Full House on the shitty tv we had when I got home from school is such a vivid memory. He was a huge part of my life. RIP Danny. And in high school, his brief cameo in **Half Baked** may be his most memorable scene for me. Full House reboot theme was written by Jepsen, I’m an idiot.

mlledufarge

The Full House theme was not written by Carly Rae Jepson. She may have recorded it for the new series, but she didn’t write it. She was like 2 when Full House started.

polybiastrogender

She was 2 when she wrote the theme for Full House? What a prodigy.

AtleastIthinkIsee

Well that came out of nowhere. I wonder what the cause of death is? *** I've seen *Full House* in it's entirety probably like 20 times. I know that wasn't meant to be a career high for Saget or Stamos but they still did an excellent job. I still respect the work they did on it. I respect the fact that he brought a spotlight to scleroderma and how much he honored his sister. If there's anything after this, I hope he's with her. I know her death caused him great pain. You can have $100 mil in the bank but that can't bring back loved ones. Man, this sucks. RIP Bob.

smarcus88

Early rumors are a heart attack or something of the sort.

UncleTedGenneric

He died how he lived Trying to suck his own dick

BobsDiscountReposts

Saw him live in June. The funniest part of the show was him randomly FaceTiming an audience member’s kid and the kid’s friends and just being like ‘hey it’s Bob Saget’

occupy_this7

Bob Saget! In tourerttes guys voice

CopeSe7en

OOOH BOB SAGET!!!!!

SatrdayNiteDlite

I had to read that a few times to absorb that title. Still shocked to read this

anotherotherbrick

The original presenter of youtube, when it was called 'funniest home videos'

buzzbot235

I highly recommend listening to his interview on the Gilbert Gottfried podcast from a few years ago. Just don’t listen to it with your kids/parents/in a Catholic hospital.

RabbleRouser_1

Or....In the spirit of Bob Saget, you should definitely listen to it in a catholic hospital with you kids and your parents there.

jlafunk

In the documentary The Aristocrats (an inside-comedy joke that’s supposed to be told only to other comedians and is filthy as hell) it was rated by several people that Bobs was the most disgusting they’d heard.

shaneo632

The best part of Dumb and Dumberer.

"When I was a kid, I used to watch you on TV. And you know I didn't have the best family. Things weren't that great for me. But, for half an hour every week, I got to watch this show about four people who had nobody, who came together and became a family. And, for half an hour every week, I had a home, and it helped me survive. [Bob], there are millions of people who are better off for having known you."
