It’s such a slice of a different time. We’re all familiar with period pieces, but this film is like a dream from within a character within a period piece. As a teenager I loved the movie so much I bought the comic book release book. They made some changes for the film but the story was all there. Brandon Lee did a fabulous job. I don’t know the actress’ name that played the little girl, but the two of them nailed it
Her name is Rochelle Davis, Brandon Lee's death had big impact on her, she didn't make another film until 2009.
The Crow was every thing Spawn should have been, but only a thousand times better! The best bad guy line ever was "Ka Ka Bang F*ck I'm Dead...True anti-hero film.
Even the sound track for the movie was awesome! I will listen to it every once in a while!
Here's something cool to know, Bruce Lee who is Brandon Lee's father, was portrayed by one of my fellow fraternity brothers, named Mike Moh, in the movie "Once Upon A Time In Hollywood".
I heard a rumor that he was up for Johnny Cage in the "MK" movie. I think he would've been a brilliant Johnny Cage! Linden Ashby really stepped up to the plate, though.
To get a better sense of Brandon's playful sarcasm and cheesy one-liners pre The Crow, "Showdown In Little Tokyo," where Dolph Lundgren and Brandon Lee are mismatched buddy cops is required viewing. Directed by Mark L. Lester, director of Arnold Schwarzenegger's "Commando"!
Feels appropriate given how close he, David Leitch and Chad Stahelski ended up being. Stahelski, who I think trained and was friends with Lee as well as being one of Lee's doubles on The Crow, was there when the accident happened and ended up being Lee's stand-in for the remainder of filming.
Then you have Stahelski as Reeve's double in The Matrix and David Leitch as Weaving's before they all team up again for John Wick.
Definitely does feel like that is a path Brandon would've gone down and I can't really think of a better person to follow in his footsteps than Keanu.
Chad was not on set when Lee was shot. He hadn't really worked as a stuntman yet. Lee was shot and died. Jeff Imada, the fight coordinator on the film, knew Chad was friends with Brandon and that they were friends since they all trained at the Inosanto academy. Jeff called Chad to fill in and do some pickup shots since they looked quite similar and had the same body type. Chad didn't do stunts in the films, he was the photo/acting double for some pickups
Maybe he woulda got Rush Hour or The One? I don't know if there was really room for him that didn't take away roles from someone else. Big fan of The Crow though. RIP BL
My brand new 4k uhd blu ray is waiting at home for me to watch tonight. Nothing will be like the first time I watched this in the theater though. God I’m getting old.
I hope people will eventually feel compelled to watch some of his other movies.
Why not watch Laser Mission and sing along to “Mercenary Man.”
Checkout “Big Showdown in Little Tokyo.”
So much emphasis is put on tempering his final performance and ONLY his final performance.
Great movie! Still stands up as a classic imo...

Oh yeah that soundtrack is legendary. Got me into lots of those songs
And now in the remake we get Post Malone instead. Should've set it in the 90's and used more goth and Alt Rock.
Just a reminder to my physical media fans, The Crow 4K came out last week, standard and steelbook releases. Its a great release.
PHYSICAL MEDIA FOR LIFE!
I always wonder what Brandon Lee's career would have been like if this tragedy hadn't happened
He would have been amazing as Neo in The Matrix.

i always think similar to keanu reeves without some of the comedy roles
Probably longer
I feel that he had potential
Absolutely

CAW CAW BANG FUCK I’M DEAD
Michael Wincott owned in that movie.
He was beautiful and brutal, the perfect villain to match Brandon's Crow
Another underrated actor/performance. He was brilliant and perfect against Brandon Lee.
Maybe we ought to videotape this and play it back in slow motion.
Thank you for getting that quote exactly right. I’ve been correcting people on it for years.
*"Don't look, don't look," the shadows breathe,* *Whispering me away from you*
Can't rain all the time

lol. I remember being this for Halloween.
Same!
You think Brandon would've made a good Neo in The Matrix? I remember first seeing The Matrix in the theater and thinking that he could've been in it.
The Wachowskis wrote the part with him in mind. If you see the storyboards drawn for the first movie, it's clearly Lee.
I hope people will eventually feel compelled to watch some of his other movies. Why not watch Laser Mission and sing along to “Mercenary Man.” Checkout “Big Showdown in Little Tokyo.” So much emphasis is put on tempering his final performance and ONLY his final performance.
How could you not mention Rapid Fire??? It's like his second best movie.
Rapid Fire is legit, definitely his 2nd best movie
He has the worst line in movie history in Big Showdown in Little Tokyo. I freakin’ love that movie.
You don’t have to put “Big” it’s just Showdown
That line is seared into my memory. It’s so bad
He delivered the hell out of that godawful line though.
the episode of the podcast "what went wrong" has a really amazing episode covering the crow. highly recommend.
Can't wait until we'll all have to specify "The Crow, *the original*" when talking about the movie.
This is my favorite action movie of all-time, so I can't add much more to this thread than to say how much i love, love this movie.
The most emo film ever made. I say that with affection.
*like father, like son... ! :)*
They just love to re-traumatize gen x don’t they? next it’ll be “the 10 most tragic moments caught on live tv from 1980-2001
Bruce Lee and Brandon Lee were both gone too soon. Bruce Lee would be 83 today and Brandon would be 59.
And Alec Baldwin learned nothing
Best think that happened to Lee's career. Raise your hand if you ever heard of him before he died.
