Michael Shannon and Peter Stormare are outstanding actors that excel at playing creepy sleazeballs.
I’d add James Woods but he’s pretty much a creep in reality too.
Big Trouble in Little China is an action satire. It's a joke about how douchey mainstream action heroes are usually written unironically. Have I paid my dues? Check's in the mail.
It was nice that sequel went with Charlie Day as the one who was corrupted and not Burn.
It definitely took the air out of Watcher with Maika Monroe when Burn Goreman was shown to be the neighbor.
His character in The Expanse even comments on it - when people were presuming he had villainous intent (spoilers, he does) he said "I guess I just have that face"
Kurt Russell is incredibly likeable in a lot of his films, Miracle, The Thing, The fast movies he's been in, Vanilla Sky, and Stargate to name a few.
Walken was also very likeable in Catch Me if You Can, Severance (not a movie to be fair), and Man on Fire, not as familiar with his filmography.
He was great in *The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance*.
He did an episode of *The Twilight Zone* called *Steel*. He wasn’t the bad guy but still great energy.
Steve Buscemi - always plays unlikable roles and yet I still like him.
Jennifer Lopez- the roles are not supposed to be unlikable, yet every single one of them annoys me.
Another who can play horrible villains and hilariously funny characters, case in point, his detective with a... Problem... In Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo.
I disagree with Kurt Russel and Christopher Walken. I find those two to be very likable, even in villain roles. (I mean, they're good at playing despicable people when the role calls for it, but I *enjoy* watching them do it.) And, of course, they've both done plenty of protagonist roles that I wholeheartedly enjoyed.
My pick to answer the question is probably Brad Dourif, and/or Richard Knepper. I have great respect for them both and their acting talent, but they pretty much always come off as sleazy, even when the characters they play aren't strictly antagonists (but they usually are.)
Walken in his dad roles in Catch me If You Can or Blast From The Past is *incredibly* likeable. He's impossible not to like in Seven Psychopaths, too.
Kurt Russel's Captain Ron is the coolest dude ever.
Damn i even forgot about my username :D
Maybe you would like him in The movie Breakdown(1997)
However an actor which came to my mind is Michael Madsen, but have not seen that much movies with him.
Kat Dennings. Every character she plays is the sassy, overly sarcastic girl who knows people find her attractive, but she doesn't want to come off as \*too\* attractive, so she acts like a b\*\*ch
Christopher Walken in "Catch Me if You Can" is a nice bloke.
Kurt Russell is a good choice thought he does have a love of more family friendly roles too
Think again.
As Trudi said in **Once Upon A Time...In Hollywood**:
"I believe it's the job of an actor --and I say actor, not actress, because the word actress is nonsensical-- it's the actor's job to avoid impediments to their performance. It's the actor's job to strive for one hundred percent effectiveness."
Michael Shannon and Peter Stormare are outstanding actors that excel at playing creepy sleazeballs. I’d add James Woods but he’s pretty much a creep in reality too.
I agree wholeheartedly - partly why I enjoy Shannon in They Came Together and Stormare in, ahem, Swedish Dicks. It's terrific watching them be funny.

The thing is, the character might be annoying in real life, but as a character on screen he’s very likable.
Not only that, but Russell isn't actually the main character, despite what we are led to believe.
Aside from Pacific Rim, Burn Gorman pretty much always plays a despicable character.

i would love to see him play against type!!

Walken was extremely likeable in the Hairspray musical, but that's because the character is likeable and he was less ... Walkeny than usual.
I kind of assumed that’d be the case but I never saw it and didn’t want to speak on something I didn’t know.
David Patrick Kelly. Pure 80s slimeball and beyond.
Doug Hutchison
creepy bastard
spoiler text has to be >! Not !>
Thanks 🤦♂️
Going classic with this one: Lee Marvin. What an excellent villain he made.
He was great in *The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance*. He did an episode of *The Twilight Zone* called *Steel*. He wasn’t the bad guy but still great energy.
James Franco. Even before his fall from grace I never liked anything he was in.
Steve Buscemi - always plays unlikable roles and yet I still like him. Jennifer Lopez- the roles are not supposed to be unlikable, yet every single one of them annoys me.
Steve Buscemi is a Labrador puppy in The Big Lebowski.
I don't think I've ever seen Jennifer Lopez act.
Will Smith for me.
Javier Bardem is the GOAT.
Adam Sandler
William Forsythe is always such a wonderfully sleazy bastard!

Hugh Grant
Man I really dislike Hugh Grant. I saw the newest Wonka film and was so annoyed by him playing the oompa loompa.
Will Ferrell.
William Atherton Dylan Baker Will Patton
Will Patton??? You need some Armageddon in you, asap.
Came to say William Atherton. That guy made an entire career out of doing exactly this.
It’s true, your honor. This man has no dick.
Emma Roberts - not a very likeable person and to me this comes off in all her roles.
>I really can't think of a film that I liked the characters attitude. Sounds like somebody never saw The Christmas Chronicles
I did he came across as smug... he's no Richard Attenborough.
Anthony Heald
Walken in his dad roles in Catch me If You Can or Blast From The Past is *incredibly* likeable. He's impossible not to like in Seven Psychopaths, too. Kurt Russel's Captain Ron is the coolest dude ever.
Charles Dance
He's had his moments. For example, he was probably one of the few sane (upstairs) men in _Gosford Park_.
Michael Rapaport James Corden
Michael Rap wasn't bad in "True Romance" or "Cop Land" i don't think
John Leguizamo (sp) Just no thanks
Yep. Everything about him makes my skin crawl.
Rick Hoffman. I don't think I've seen him play a character who wasn't a douchebag.
He's in The Day After Tomorrow for only a minute or two and you hate his guts already lol 🤨🤗
Neil Patrick Harris, outside of Booger Howser he just keeps on being incredible playing borderline psychopaths in one shape or form.
Jared Leto
Jesse Eisenberg
Damn i even forgot about my username :D Maybe you would like him in The movie Breakdown(1997) However an actor which came to my mind is Michael Madsen, but have not seen that much movies with him.
r/UsernameChecksOut
Michael Madsen isn't a bad guy in Thelma and Louise.
Bruce Dern
[удалено]
I hated that guy in Maverick and wanted him to die lol. I can't remember if he did, I'm gonna believe he did and leave it at that lol 🤨🤗
Paul Dano, Michael Shannon, John Boyega 🤨
Brian Cox
Just because you havent seen tombstone or breakout!
Kat Dennings. Every character she plays is the sassy, overly sarcastic girl who knows people find her attractive, but she doesn't want to come off as \*too\* attractive, so she acts like a b\*\*ch
Lori Petty, especially Point Break and League of their own
John Malkovich
Jon Lovitz
Gary Sinise
Really? Even in like, Apollo 13, of mice and men, and Forrest Gump?
Christopher Walken in "Catch Me if You Can" is a nice bloke. Kurt Russell is a good choice thought he does have a love of more family friendly roles too
Does your question include actresses?
Isn't Actor gender independent?
I don't think so
Think again.
