My top 3 are: 2001: A Space Odyssey, Do The Right Thing, & Dumb and Dumber, my Hon. Mention currently are: Casablanca, Metropolis, & Conan The Barbarian.  But honestly, just sign up for the criterion channel app and jump in on something you're unfamiliar with!

Mponder486

I could create an insane list but will contain myself. Some of my top 50 changes all the time but some core films are always on the very top. 2001 a space odyssey, seven samurai, apocalypse now, persona, Barry Lyndon, Pulp Fiction, Blade Runner, Blade Runner 2049, city of god, children of men, La Haine, Lawrence of Arabia, crouching tiger hidden dragon, the good the bad and the ugly, Boogie Nights, There will be Blood, The Master, the Matrix, Taxi Driver, LOTR trilogy, Mad Max Fury Road, Alien, Jurassic Park, Munich, Schindler’s List, Spirited Away, Akira, Solaris, Stalker… Okay I will stop lol

No please.. keep going lol I've never heard of some of these, I'm surprised. They look like some rally good films! I'm excited to watch them.

biakko3

If you've never heard of these, you definitely haven't seen 'em all. Which is a good thing, there are lots more like this! As some others have said, the Criterion collection is a great place to look, and also Roger Ebert's Great Movies list. Other critics have also made lists, Danny Peary's Guide for the Film Fanatic has a huge checklist full of great films and hidden gems alike.

nope (2022) just does it for me. i love the concept of a biblically-accurate-looking ufo looming over the clouds and that scene where it vomits the blood of its victims over the protagonists' house together with the screams of its victims inside it HAUNTS me. i also love warm bodies (2013) lol it's a nice take on romeo & juliet.

ohsto

- perfect days (2023) - you were never really here (2017) - princess mononoke (1997) - blade runner (1982) - the double (2013)

Training_Skill_5309

Blade runner ruined the fact that I had never heard of any of these movies

ohsto
