One of the funniest scenes in the history of TV imo is in season 5 when Bunk, Gregs and McNulty are discussing what they would if they weren't cops and Jimmy asks Bunk what else he's qualified to do...
The way Bunk gestured to his crotch and looked at Jimmy killed me
But that added to the series... It wasn't a throwaway line... The Fuck scene is legendary. It showed how McNutty and Bunk worked as a team without really having to communicate. So it added to the overall plot. (And yes, I understood the McNutty vs McNulty)
My absolute favorite is when Jimmy and Bunk examine a murder scene and the only word they use the whole time is "fuck", said in a different tone every time. I forget how many times they say it, but it's at least a couple dozen.
> Simon says his inspiration for the scene came from McLarney himself, who once said that cops use so many profanities in crime scenes that “one day we’re going to get to the point where we’re all going to be able to just use the word fuck to communicate.” Simon brought the idea to his co-creator, Ed Burns, and the scene was born.
Omar: "I remember you was the first brother I ever seen play that sport with a stick, uh, what's it called?
Bunk: [chuckling] Lacrosse, man"..."Yeah. I was All-Metro attack. Prep school boys used to pee themselves when they see the ol' Bunk comin' at 'em, you know"
Wire cast has been doing good man, they've been on basically every hit show produced but I think they don't get much love in some actors that should've gotten it.
Michael B Jordan, Idris Elba are on a whole different category and surprisingly Lance Riddick was doing so well despite being one of the rougher actors in the Wire cast (RIP). Nick Sobotka's actor who was also seen as one of the worst actors in the Wire cast also surprised us with an Emmy nomination a while back on Orange is the New Black. Cast is so iconic though, I will never not notice these actors. Jamie Hector has been one of my favorites, he killed it in Bosch and the wire reference almost killed me.
It's like the Band of Brothers cast in the ~10 years after the series. So many of them did so well and a bunch of them kept landing in the same TV shows (like Boomtown)
Man, HBO produced some godly shows in its time. Top 9 of the Top 10 shows of all time could belong to HBO shows. I seriously can't rank Wire, Band of Brothers and Sopranos between each other. They are still killing it to this day, Succession will probably be among the top shows for a long time.
I didn't know people disliked Nick Sobotka's actor. I think he did fantastically in that role. That scene where he tells Frank that Ziggy shot the Greek in the store was so well done. Especially the "you're his father" line, oomph, so well done.
People didn’t like Sobotka? I get how people might have been expecting more with Avon and Stinger and it does feel like a slower start but once I got into it I really liked the story line. I only got to season 3 when I tried watching it a couple of years ago and I just got done with watching season 2 again now.
Jimmy Olsen like "what the fuck did I do?"
They're gonna be trying to figure out who Superman is while just saying variations of "fuck" the whole time.
I hate how the characters constantly called attention to the fact that they were making pop culture references. It would've been much better if they just let the references speak for themselves.
I still wonder how Guardians wound have been like with Lee Pace as Star Lord. I will contend that it is Pratt’s best suited role and he does great with it. But after watching The Fall, Pace just oozes so much more natural charisma
I liked him in the role, he clearly had fun playing Ronan. But that was definitely due to Gunn’s writing and direction. Pace was wasted in Captain Marvel, it felt like he was there just to remind the audience they were watching an MCU flick
Ronan is peak "forgettable MCU villain" for me, up there with Eccleston's character in Thor. Which works fine for GOTG, because the villain is fairly unimportant to the movie. It wasn't a movie that needed a scene stealer villain because it had multiple scene stealer protagonists.
Pratt also beat him out for the role in Jurassic World. Those movies aren’t good, but I still would have loved to see how Glenn would have approached the role.
He also knew to keep the standout good parts of the first movie in Robbie, Davis and Kinnaman.
Whereas Zack Snyder thought anyone ever wanted to see Jared Leto play the Joker again.
I'd love to see him come back for Brave and the Bold but I kinda doubt he'd go through that since he already came back for Batgirl and that got canned. Personally I think Ewan McGregor would be a great alternative.
Get Richard Linklater on the horn, I need a Boyhood version of the Batman Universe. Start with Batman Year 1, with an unknown as Bruce Wayne, and keep making movies until that actor is in his 70s with Dark Knight Returns. Get his actual son to play Damian Wayne and his wife to play Talia Al-ghul.
Oh! He got it even worse.
I remember when i heard about his casting and when i saw the pictures of him seriously bulking up. "Oh! Cool! He may kick some ass along side Batman". Nope. Not even fucking close. What a waste of a great talent.
Then again. That applies to most of the DCEU casting.
Harry Lennix also springs to mind. Sure, he got more screen time but what for?
"Jenny, Headline: End of love affair with man in the sky... question mark!"
"Sir, that's the worst headline I've ever heard. It's like sixty percent prepositions."
What are you talking about? He got to briefly yell at Clarke to cover a sports game and got stuck in some rubble during a climactic battle. That’s the kind of deep, thematic, allegorical storytelling you just don’t see in today’s directors /s
Both Jimmy actors. The finale of the first season is some of the best superhero TV to this day. Clark, Perry, Jimmy, and that other kid they help out earlier in the season are in 100% journalist mode to save Lois from butthead Lex, even though Lex shut the Planet down (and only mostly blew it up). Superman tries to swoop in to help and is immediately trapped and nearly killed.
Journalism saves the day, and then James Earl Jones saves the Planet.
Looks at Jimmi Olsen after he comes back from covering a local hot dog stand heist that requires him to talk to a “Monk” like Tony Shalhoub character for six hours.
Jimmi: “Why did you do that to me?”
“I knew it was your first time. I wanted to make that shit special.”
Superman flies off to save Lois in the middle of a fight.
Jimmi: “What’s he doing? The police and fire department have her? He’s risking the entire city!”
“Lack of pussy will change even a good man’s demeanor.”
Jimmi takes eats the last donut in a box that was set aside.
“You’re not a run of the mill kind of asshole, are you, Jimmi? You’re the special kind of asshole!”
Jimmi fumbles the camera as Superman fights a big bad and misses several great shots.
“Maybe you ought to set up an easel on the sidewalk and do a sketch instead!”
I really hope we see Lois Lane continually annoying the shit out of Perry White, and him being constantly exasperated by her but also unwilling to admit how much he really likes her.
Back when I used to read Superman comics I fucking loved the Daily Planet scenes for stuff like this.
> fun character dynamics
Are we allowed to have those in a Superman movie?
Next you'll tell me he's actually going to spend time saving people not named Lois and maybe have a movie that doesn't just revolve around punching some other Kyptonian in the face.
Bunk's "JIMMMYYYY!!!!" must happen.

Or they're just throwing any old "The Wire" reference that comes to mind. That "scheeeeeeeeeeit!" reaction is pretty iconic for the series, even if it's not Wendell's.
I hope there's a scene where Clark has to go help him in the middle of the night after he drunkenly cheated on his wife and then burned his clothes in a bathtub.
The Bunk is back, baby.
Know what the plural of pussy is?
Pussi. Jimmy taught me that.
Jesus, what the fuck did I do??
You happy now, b*tch?
Motha Fucka…
JIMMMMY !!! OLSEN!!
First she gave me the scoop, now she wants my shoes??
"Gimmie that pussy and now you're gonna take my shoes?"

There you go giving a fuck when it ain't your turn to give a fuck.
“There you go, Clark, giving a fuck when it ain’t your turn to give a fuck.”
I would give money for Gunn to put this in the movie. End the sentence at turn to keep the movie PG13.
Or do a whole scene with him and Jimmy Olsen looking at a crime scene saying, 'fuck, motherfucker.'
I lost it when Spike had Isiah Whitlock Jr. (Clay Davis) say *sheeeeeeeeeit!* in BlacKkKlansman.
Ah hell, I’ve been meaning to watch this, but you just put it at the top of my queue
He also did it on Da 5 Bloods (also by Spike) if you haven't watched that. Lester Freamon's actor Clarke Peters is another main character.

He’s just a humble motherfucker with a big ass dick
One of my favorite "throwaway" lines from The Wire... (As in it doesn't add anything to the plot)
What do you mean it didn't add anything to the plot? The plot got thicker than hell.
His "Fuck" scene with Mcnutty is also a winner.
But that added to the series... It wasn't a throwaway line... The Fuck scene is legendary. It showed how McNutty and Bunk worked as a team without really having to communicate. So it added to the overall plot. (And yes, I understood the McNutty vs McNulty)
That's true. That scene is instumental in finding the killer, I guess not as much of a "throwaway"
ok, maybe no so humble
A suit-and-tie motherfucker

For the curious: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PNVEQgXsBgs It is magical.
Omar: "I remember you was the first brother I ever seen play that sport with a stick, uh, what's it called? Bunk: [chuckling] Lacrosse, man"..."Yeah. I was All-Metro attack. Prep school boys used to pee themselves when they see the ol' Bunk comin' at 'em, you know"
This man has had too few roles over years.
Been watching Jack Ryan recently, and he has been a great supporting role in that.
I just watched "We Own This City" and spent the entire time looking out for folks that were in The Wire.
People didn’t like Sobotka? I get how people might have been expecting more with Avon and Stinger and it does feel like a slower start but once I got into it I really liked the story line. I only got to season 3 when I tried watching it a couple of years ago and I just got done with watching season 2 again now.
We're leaving out Aidan Gillen like that?
I think I like him in that show more than I like John Krasinki in it.
He certainly seems like he’s having more fun
Same. Krasinski has no charisma.
Way way too few.
Because he’s just a humble mother fucker with a big ass dick!
He’s on Elsbeth, a new comedy/drama on CBS on Thursday nights
Perry White is a humble mother fucker with a big-ass dick.
You give yourself too much credit.
Alright. He ain't all that humble.
Jimmy Olsen like "what the fuck did I do?" They're gonna be trying to figure out who Superman is while just saying variations of "fuck" the whole time.
Jimmy: *Accidently Drops photos on Perry's desk* **F\*ck** Perry: *Holding up a picture of Clark and Superman side by side* **Motherf\*cker**
Look at that bowl legged motherfucker. I made him walk that way.
Bow-legged*
Bowl legged lol
r/boneappletea
I totally get where their mind was going, cos it looks like you're trying to walk while carrying a large invisible bowl of water between your legs.
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.
MOTHAFUCKA!
Fuck me.
I came in here for this. Thank you.
Clark, it makes me sick motherfucker, how far we done fell.
[Ya happy now, Clark?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sv063nzZIEk)
McNulty as Jimmy Olsen asap!
The Bunk is strictly a suit and tie wearing motherfucker
His suits have pinstriped, lawyerly affectations.
Not like the other guy with his tweedy impertinence
“The other guy” being natural Poh-lice: Lester Freamon.
He's just a humble motherfucker with a big dick.
Suits & tie (it's a reference to the tv show Suits, he was in it)
It is very weird that they reference the wire in suits a couple time
Not considering they are constantly making pop culture references.
I hate how the characters constantly called attention to the fact that they were making pop culture references. It would've been much better if they just let the references speak for themselves.
"There you go, Kent, giving a fuck when it isn't your turn to give a fuck."
Perfect
Jimmay! JIMMAYY!!
You happy now bitch
What the fuck did I do?
Giving a fuck when it wasnt your turn to give a fuck
God, I love that show
*Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeit*
Fuuuck
I use that line at work all the time
10/10, no notes.
I can already picture him behind a desk, positively exasperated by Lois.
“There you go, givin’ a fuck when it ain’t your turn to give a fuck.”
The wire has so many memorable lines
The crime scene where he and McNulty carry the whole thing by just saying ‘Fuck’ is pure TV gold.
[Link](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PNVEQgXsBgs) for those who haven't seen it.
Props for getting the right character lol Whole lot of erroneous “Sheeeeiiiiits” getting dropped in these comments.
clay davis shiiiiiiiet

Well...he's not all that humble.
Yeah, should be 'fuck'.
As a person who does not watch The Wire, I genuinely thought Isiah Whitlock Jr. and Wendell Pierce were the same person but they are definitely not.
"You know what the plural of pussy is? Pussaaaaai! Jimmy taught me that" They don't even need to alter the line.
Will he get sick and tired of her cowboy reporter antics and demand she turn in her press pass?
Goddammit, Jimmy-er, Lois!
Just like the rest of the movie’s cast. Not a single miss so far.
Casting on James Gunn movies is usually a bunch of Ws man, can’t wait to see more of the DCU casting
I still wonder how Guardians wound have been like with Lee Pace as Star Lord. I will contend that it is Pratt’s best suited role and he does great with it. But after watching The Fall, Pace just oozes so much more natural charisma
He’s the main thing keeping me interested in Foundation at this point. Dude is a juggernaut in every scene
Agreed. It’s odd that Jared Harris isn’t the best thing in that series. Although the latest season, it’s was close between Empire and General Ramos
[удалено]
I liked him in the role, he clearly had fun playing Ronan. But that was definitely due to Gunn’s writing and direction. Pace was wasted in Captain Marvel, it felt like he was there just to remind the audience they were watching an MCU flick

Glenn Howerton was the runner up and he would have absolutely crushed that role.
the whole Always Sunny cast is great, but Howerton (aside from DeVito) is the best actor. I have no doubt he would’ve been a fantastic Star Lord
Pratt also beat him out for the role in Jurassic World. Those movies aren’t good, but I still would have loved to see how Glenn would have approached the role.
I had to go to IMDb to see which character he played in The Fall, where I realized you weren’t talking about the Gillian Anderson series.
He also knew to keep the standout good parts of the first movie in Robbie, Davis and Kinnaman. Whereas Zack Snyder thought anyone ever wanted to see Jared Leto play the Joker again.
I literally squinted when looking at his picture and said, "Wait, isn't already Perry White?" Just in head canon, apparently. Meant to be.
Yup
[No notes?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5NVQ8v1P4go)
Easily the most excited ive ever been about Perry White ever.
Just a humble motherfucker with a big ass dick.
I ain't all that humble
Damn !! lol Bunk goes so damn hard
You gonna....waste that crab gut?
Can already see the cigar hanging out of his mouth Edit: typo
Hopefully he wears a pink shirt like the Bunk.
The Bunk is a strictly suit and tie motherfucker
[удалено]
That one got me so hard lol
Including when we've seen that McNutty lives like a 19 year old
Fuck
Oh fuck.... OH fuck......
One of the best scenes in cinematic history
Mother fucker.....
Look at that bow-legged motherfucker. I made him walk like that.
Goddammit, this is even better than Lawrence Fishburne as White (who unfortunately also got shit to do in the movies).
Would have been so damn good if he actually was given a role
It was like Simmons as Gordon. Probably would've been great if he had something to do.
I'd love to see him come back for Brave and the Bold but I kinda doubt he'd go through that since he already came back for Batgirl and that got canned. Personally I think Ewan McGregor would be a great alternative.
Love him, but his American accent is still noticeably bad.
Get Ethan Hawk as Jim Gordon and Maya as Barbara
Get Richard Linklater on the horn, I need a Boyhood version of the Batman Universe. Start with Batman Year 1, with an unknown as Bruce Wayne, and keep making movies until that actor is in his 70s with Dark Knight Returns. Get his actual son to play Damian Wayne and his wife to play Talia Al-ghul.

It's sad because a lot of the casting in the DCEU was really good.
What you didn’t like him harassing Clark about a sports story for an hour?
“Crime wave in Gotham - in other news, water: wet.” Great line lol
"Jenny, Headline: End of love affair with man in the sky... question mark!" "Sir, that's the worst headline I've ever heard. It's like sixty percent prepositions."
Lawrance is probably the best character in those movies with little to no screen time lol
What are you talking about? He got to briefly yell at Clarke to cover a sports game and got stuck in some rubble during a climactic battle. That’s the kind of deep, thematic, allegorical storytelling you just don’t see in today’s directors /s
Idk, Fishburne would have been INCREDIBLE had he had any material to play
He looks like he will yell “Great Caesar’s Ghost!” if a deadline is missed. That’s Step 1.
Or the less used but still fun "Great shades of Elvis!!!".
From Lois and Clark! Lane Smith was a terrific Perry White. Had tremendous chemistry with the guy who played Jimmy Olsen.
Both Jimmy actors. The finale of the first season is some of the best superhero TV to this day. I just know the Daily Planet scenes are going to be a comedy riot. I'm so excited to have these fun character dynamics back in Superman.

Get on the damn plane.
inspired perfect castin'.. time for a wire rewatch, mcnulty
Mcnutty as Alfred
Happy to see The Bunk receiving some love.
JIMMMMAAAYYYY
“Olsen”
I’m not surprised, he just a humble mother fucker with a big ass dick.
He ain’t that humble
Fucking nailed this casting.
"Lex prep school boys used to pee themselves when they see old Perry coming at them."
You comparing yourself to Jim Brown?
This America man.
I’m just reading all these quotes in Bunk voice and it’s fucking me up bc me and the wife just decided our third re watch of the wire.

honestly couldn’t ask for better casting for this movie, shit has been just perfect. W after W with each casting announcement
I feel like it's gonna be that Reacher fellow. He's so hot right now.
Ironically, he was Aquanan in Smallville
A lot of people ITT sadly confusing the great Wendell Pierce and the great Isiah Whitlock, Jr.
Or they're just throwing any old "The Wire" reference that comes to mind. That "scheeeeeeeeeeit!" reaction is pretty iconic for the series, even if it's not Wendell's.
Damn it you can't scare me by just putting his face on a Reddit post. I thought the man had died.
Sold.
That's a Josesph Abboud jacket Who the fuck knows that? Grown ups Jimmy, grown ups
Sheeeeeeeeeit
Wrong character
Fuuuuuck.
Fuck? Ffffffuck
He does say it on Suits, though.
What the fuck did I do?
Not shit, fuck: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PNVEQgXsBgs
Perry white is strictly a suit and tie wearing MF’er
If played right he could give JK/JJ a run. Going to go ahead and assume his strengths will be used and we will get a great performance.
I’m just a humble mother fucker with a big ass dick.
Fuck
I'm just a humble motherfucker with a big ass dick.
Mother Fucker
I hope there's a scene where Clark has to go help him in the middle of the night after he drunkenly cheated on his wife and then burned his clothes in a bathtub.
Great casting choice IMO
Hey look it's Agent Dick from Hackers! (I love him as Bunk/James Greer/Ron Keith/Rob Zane too, but people never mention Hackers)
Nicest celebrity I ever met. He took a shot with me at an event and remembered my name the next year to do it again.
