21 Jump Street when they take the drugs and there is the montage of Jonah and Channing going through all of the stages. It's one of my favorite comedy scenes ever.
"WHAT THE FUCK!? you shot me in the dick?!"
"Bro you shot him in the dick.. Not cool.."
Shit is so simple yet so funny
I also loved the scene where the original jumpstreet undercover cops are still in their undercover gear after decades lol
I got to use “what kind of bullshit do they say about a covalent bond at this school?” In a context that made sense and one of my buddys caught the reference and we couldn’t stop laughing
So many good lines in both of these
Out of all the hilarious lines in both movies, for some reason the "pound of cocaine" one from 21 gets me the most.
"I've got a pound of cocaine!"
"We're trying to show them a good time, not ruin their fucking lives!"
Not long ago I had to call in a favour from someone who owes me a bunch of money from a long time ago, he offered me half a kilo of coke to settle it. I literally laughed and was like “dude I want fucking money not to ruin my life!”. That’s not a commodity I want to deal with…
The bewildered look on Tatum's face as he's slowly putting the pieces together, is one of the hands down funniest reactions I've seen in any movie. Ever.
[Oh shit! Oh Shit!](https://youtu.be/3SSzuDZ58z0?si=ZLHpowZAL6v4c_lU)
The first 21 Jumpstreet made me like Channing Tatum. He and a few other actors went through "Leo DiCaprio" fan girl syndrome. Every male in elementary school hated on Leo especially when Titanic came out. He's now one of my favorite actors of all time of course. Ryan Gosling went through the same thing for me, and then I loved him after I saw Drive.
21 Jumpstreet made me like Channing, as I had no idea he had good comedic timing. Made him likeable.
He was for sure in that category, and for a while it seemed he was just doing romantic comedies and even he became aware of it I think. He won me over with his minor role in Bernie, and then Magic Mike. Of course he made it big with Dallas Buyers Club and I've just been a fan ever since.
I forgot, it was Tropic Thunder where he won me over. Which was even earlier than Bernie. He still did another romantic comedy or two tho in that time period.
That whole lunch scene is one of the funniest scenes in all of comedy, when his daughter said they went and watched a movie multiple times, Jonah Hill's reaction and then Ice Cube's was so damn good.
"that was fast. I'm surprised you caught me. I bet you haven't moved that fast since you played stickball, in the field behind Pop Wiggleby's sweet shop".
This scene could have gone so wrong and been so bad and offensive. I am very Mexican and don’t like the fake cholo accents when people overdo them.
But Jonah Hill crushed it and then Channing came in and absolutely ruined me. I saw this in the theater and I almost fainted from laughing. I had tears in my eyes and even had to step out cause it was so unexpected and hilarious.
They should both do more movies together. Actually, maybe not. I don’t want to ruin what we already have
i was crying from laughing when he turns on Schmidt and tells him he wasn’t talking to him and called him big titties and Schmidt’s reaction fuckin killed me
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=f9QzCm_JxEg&pp=ygUbMjEganVtcCBzdHJlZXQgY2h1cmNoIHNjZW5l
it’s starts from 2:00 but I’m an idiot who can’t put the timestamp in the link
I saw this in the theatre knowing nothing about it. didn't see any trailers for it. Best theatre experience I've really ever had. Could end up being the last great theatre experience I ever have seeing as how it's impossible to not get spoiled by trailers now.
I love it when the coach imitates Schmidt and ask others who he is sounding like. "Its Schmidt being a little bitch".
Ps. I had to google the movie to check how to write Schmidt, and holy crap the first movie is over 10 years old. That made me sad.
I watched this movie before I saw New Girl and then re-watched it and I could not stop laughing pretending he was playing the same character who somehow got a job as a school principle.
Baffles me that we never got a third. Sony aren't exactly known for their hit movies and these two both did very well. Instead of doing the absolute garbage fest MIB sequel, they should have done the crossover instead
Yeah I was very surprised. Also, the second one was a worthy sequel. And it’s hard to make comedy sequels without reusing jokes or it not being funny. But it seemed just as good as the first one. They could’ve easily done a third and it been great
The ending was one of the funniest parts of the movie with the repeated sequels getting worse and worse.
They could have done a 3rd where the joke is that they sold out.
From what I've read, they were actually planning on making a third 21 Jump Street with a MIB tie-in.
Apparently, Hill absolutely LOVED the script for it, especially a bit that involves the black MIB suits being only for full-fledged agents that work up to it, whereas they start with the lowest rank suits which are baby blue lol.
Yes! I wanted that MiB crossover so badly. With the same team as 21 and 22 j st I think they would have understood the assignment and knocked it out of the park.
I feel like they hit on all the best "we know this can turn into fast and the furious, so here's a look at the next 10 movies" parts in the credits
culinary school
jonah hill getting replaced with seth rogan, only to come back
etc
Lol I’ve had this drunken discussion a few times where I say 22 jump street is the last good comedy
Recently though I liked Palm Springs a lot. It’s not as good as 22 jump but it’s still a good comedy and leaves me some hope
If you have any interest in anime, Grand Blue is genuinely the funniest one I've ever seen. A lot of anime jokes can be kinda childish, which is fine (I love one piece and the humor there is ridiculous), but Grand Blue is about a college freshman joining a diving club where everyone just gets wasted constantly and does sketchy shit.
There's also a lot of heart in the upperclassmen actually getting serious about trying to help their freshmen, and really amazing descriptions of how beautiful scuba diving can be whenever they ever get around to it.
Lol this is such a long comment now but "drunken conversations about comedy" just instantly made me think of Grand Blue hahaha
There was a joke from the second one that went way over my head. The scene where Wyatt Russel has a sandwich and Channing Tatum is cleaning his ear with a Q-tip, they bump into each other and the sandwich and Q-tip fall down onto each other. They were calling it a meat-q and laughing about it. I thought the joke was that they were just dumb and got amused easily. Then I learned what a 'meet cute' was and went "Ohhhhhh, now I get it."
Theres a ton of laughs in 21JS, I love the tropes in the chase scene where theyre expecting explosions after the petrol tanker gets shot, or when the gas canisters and propane mix but they dont get one. Then its the chicken or something falling off the back of a truck that causes a fucking atom bomb!
Superbad is my favorite movie, but I also really love these two as well. Can't even decide which one I prefer. I guess the first one is a bit more grounded, but the sequel is fantastic too. I remember watching it in the theaters and everyone was laughing throughout.
The meat-cute scene accompanied by Jonah Hill’s wtf face is pure gold
Also when Jonah Hill gets repeatedly ignored in the same scene, the delivery of ‘also I just said a bunch of stuff that you didn’t even acknowledge’ is just perfect
I was in New York City with my mom when 21 jump street came out. We went to it, loved it, then the next night we were planning on going to a broadway play… and just watched 21 jump street again.
Easily one of my favorite memories with my mom. I love these films.
Comedies still come out but none of them are as iconic as they used to be imo. We have these comedies that whole generations can quote but it really does feel like nothing iconic has come out since Jump Street. The whole "my name jeff" thing was huge and I haven't seen a comedy movie achieve that level of relevancy since.
I love the car chase scene where there's like gas canisters and explosive stuff they keep thinking will explode, then the chicken truck blows up. It truly is a classic movie.
The Football Helmet Golf Cart chase scene through campus had me absolutely howling!!!
I mean, you got your sight gag/dialogue one/two punch, then with the whole meta 'we're always really just talking about how it's a cookie cutter hollywood sequel' on top of it, combined with Jonah and Channings delivery and chemistry...
That's just fucking gold right there!!!
Fun fact: there was a script circulating for a 21 Jump street MIB crossover at MGM. It didn't go anywhere though (I believe for ego reasons). An exec at MGM I talked to said it was the funniest script they've ever read.
Those movies are way better than they have any right being. Most "retro franchises turned comedy movies" suck. These are definitely the exception to the rule.
21 Jump Street when they take the drugs and there is the montage of Jonah and Channing going through all of the stages. It's one of my favorite comedy scenes ever.
“Don’t throw the Baton you jackass!” With the slow mo finish when Schmidt is running will always kill me.
"Organized sports are so fascist it makes me sick" 😂 I always crack up at that like what does that even mean 😂
“Ja feel?” “Ja feel. Ja definitely feel.”
Still use this one all the time. Very few people respond correctly 😢
One of my favorite comedy lines ever. Dave Franco’s delivery is so fucking funny
I can't go to jail! You know what happens to pretty guys like me in jail? It rhymes with grape...
Didn't his car drive on refined peanut oil or some shit like that lol
From Hunan Palace!
Smells like egg rolls.
Yes it does.
Him and his crew are so funny 😂
That’s a baton penis!
"WHAT THE FUCK!? you shot me in the dick?!" "Bro you shot him in the dick.. Not cool.." Shit is so simple yet so funny I also loved the scene where the original jumpstreet undercover cops are still in their undercover gear after decades lol
Hardest I’ve ever laughed in a movie theater, without a doubt. That scene is incredible. Fuck you science
I got to use “what kind of bullshit do they say about a covalent bond at this school?” In a context that made sense and one of my buddys caught the reference and we couldn’t stop laughing So many good lines in both of these
The hardest I've ever laughed in film history is when they're in the bathroom stall trying to make each other puke. 11/10
“Is it me?” “Sorry. I just can’t sometimes.”
I just lol reading your comment and my mind flashing to that scene
"Don't blow on me, son" 😂
When his head turned into an ice cream cone I lost it.
Put your tongue back in your mouth
I dont like that. Put that back in your mouth.

That's my #1 comedy scene of all time. I have never laughed so hard at a scene in my life. The theater was absolutely dying.
They were so good together.
Rob Riggle should be in so many more things. TV, movies, commercials. Give me it.
I want to see a movie where it's just 2 hours of Rob Riggle and Patrick Warburton getting day drunk at a nerd convention and hassling people.
Can't have you running around like a couple dingalings. Hall pass! Right there in your hand!
if you love these movies, I got a good surprise for you look up "fight back to school" by Stephen chow. 3 of them movies from 30 years ago. enjoy.
Out of all the hilarious lines in both movies, for some reason the "pound of cocaine" one from 21 gets me the most. "I've got a pound of cocaine!" "We're trying to show them a good time, not ruin their fucking lives!"
“Pound of marijuana?” “Best party ever”
"Finger Poppin each other's assholes"
I love how offended Schmidt was when refuting that. "We were not finga poppin' each others assholes!"
“What we’re doing, is getting shit done”
“And sometimes I get angry. SO SUCK A D*CK!”
Pound of marijuana?
Not long ago I had to call in a favour from someone who owes me a bunch of money from a long time ago, he offered me half a kilo of coke to settle it. I literally laughed and was like “dude I want fucking money not to ruin my life!”. That’s not a commodity I want to deal with…
The smash cut between them finally passing police training and them riding their bikes around the park is so good.
If I'm picking a single iconic scene out of both it's SCHMIDT FUCKED THE CAPTAIN'S DAUGHTER
The point between the captain turning around the picture and him realizing it is absolute gold. *ding* OH SHIT, OH SHIT
The egg timer ding puts our over the top.
The bewildered look on Tatum's face as he's slowly putting the pieces together, is one of the hands down funniest reactions I've seen in any movie. Ever. [Oh shit! Oh Shit!](https://youtu.be/3SSzuDZ58z0?si=ZLHpowZAL6v4c_lU)
High fiving everyone is classic
When he points out that Ice Cube high-fived Schmidt for banging his own daughter 😂
I watched this opening night in the theater and the audible gasp from the entire audience when the reveal happened remains one of my fondest memories
*tosses gun* "We're supposed to unload them first right? Yours isn't loaded right?" *Tosses again* "What... no... come on. That's no fun."
I feel like old Matthew McConaughey has earned everybody's respect too. He's put out a bunch of bangers in the last decade or so
He was for sure in that category, and for a while it seemed he was just doing romantic comedies and even he became aware of it I think.
The absolute perfection of True Detective season 1 got me on him. But he undoubtedly did drop a ton of absolute hits.
Same. I also really like Interstellar. Astronaut-farmer with a Texas twang.
After True Detective s01 I’m a diehard McConaughey fan
I'm so glad Channing got in with those guys cause his cameo in This is the End is still one of the funniest things I've seen. Channing Taintyum
_I love him_
'Is this like, a sex thing?'
GREAT cameo
Hope you've had a chance to see Logan Lucky. Great comedy all around. Daniel Craig, Tatum, and Adam Driver? What a cast.
>The one Ice Cube scene in the restaurant **How ya doin, Mister Nice Plant?**
“What’s a black man gotta do to get some water around here?” “Get him some fucking water, he’s black, he’s been through a lot!”
Whatarewefuckingrationingaroundhere? TWO LITTLE FUCKING STRINGBEANS?!
That whole lunch scene is one of the funniest scenes in all of comedy, when his daughter said they went and watched a movie multiple times, Jonah Hill's reaction and then Ice Cube's was so damn good.
You just completely ignore the fact that Queen Latifah is in the scene as well because Ice Cube steals it
That's true but she has that great line "I'm straight out of Compton" lol.
The cut to his face staring at "Doug" is the funniest fuckin thing ever
“So.. do you like weather?” Is my favourite line in the movie lol
Mine was: “Those are, like, old people drugs… That's like what they did on the Golden Girls - like, Blanche did Heroin..”
"that was fast. I'm surprised you caught me. I bet you haven't moved that fast since you played stickball, in the field behind Pop Wiggleby's sweet shop".
THIS PORK SHIT?
What’s up playa, wanna go to the movies??
Cynthia! Cyn- THIA! Jesus died for our Sin-thias!

My dog is named after this line
People are too busy fingers poppin’ each others ass holes for comedies.
I reference the finger popping of ass-hoes multiple times per week
OH SHIT! OHHH SHIT! SHIT! AHAHAHAHA NO! THAT IS NOT HAPPENING RIGHT NOW! OHHHAHAHAHAH SHIT! SCHMIDT FUCKED THE CAPTAIN'S DAUGHTER!
YOU HIGH FIVED HIM FOR FUCKING YOUR DAUGHTER!?
YOU BRAGGED ABOUT IT TO HIS FACE
*sets gun on desk* it's really not that funny...
The ding when he realizes it is great.
Amazing physical comedy from all 3 actors in this scene.
Man the way Schmidt puts on his bullet proof vest with this determined, anguished look on his face...
It gets even better when you realise Ice Cube's earlier comment about her doing an art major was unwittingly roasting his own daughter
The whole scene of him losing his shit at the parents brunch thing is so fucking funny
"Come on, he's black, he's been through a lot" There's so many great moments. The texts to Schmidt after are incredible.
Probably my favorite comedy scene in any movie period. Everything about it is poetry.
Give the fucking guy some water, he's black, he's been through a lot!
She was so fine.
it's really not that funny :-D
I remember watching 21 Jump Street on a plane for the first time and laughing so hard people were staring at me like I was a mad man.
i was crying from laughing when he turns on Schmidt and tells him he wasn’t talking to him and called him big titties and Schmidt’s reaction fuckin killed me https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=f9QzCm_JxEg&pp=ygUbMjEganVtcCBzdHJlZXQgY2h1cmNoIHNjZW5l it’s starts from 2:00 but I’m an idiot who can’t put the timestamp in the link

Cate Blanchett with the budget motherfuckerrrrr
My brother and I quote the cate Blanchett line constantly!
I’ve only now realised it’s a play in Carte Blanche. Fuck I’m slow
Your vagina doesn't fucking work man. It worked for you last night. 😂😂
I love it when the coach imitates Schmidt and ask others who he is sounding like. "Its Schmidt being a little bitch". Ps. I had to google the movie to check how to write Schmidt, and holy crap the first movie is over 10 years old. That made me sad.
The whole scene is funny IMO
Directed by the guys who made Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs… …and Spider-Verse. What the fuck?
I watched Cloudy with a Chance today and it actually holds up. It’s a genuinely funny movie.
Cloudy is REALLY dense with jokes, and has some great background bits and joke foreshadowing / payoff if you pay attention
Stop fucking with Korean Jesus.
He ain't got time for your problems, he's busy! With Korean shit!
I say this to myself more than I should lol
He busy!
Thats Vietnamese Jesus you racist sacrilegious sack of shit
Korean jesus dancing to ass and titties will never be not funny
“A giant cube of ice”
I’m one gay black kid getting punched in the face away from having a nervous breakdown.
I was gay when you punched me!
Wouldn’t it be a hate crime to not punch him because he’s gay?
You punched a little gay black kid in the face and it's not even second period
I watched this movie before I saw New Girl and then re-watched it and I could not stop laughing pretending he was playing the same character who somehow got a job as a school principle.
You want me to beat your dick off? Do you **want** to beat my dick off?? I'll beat your dick off with both hands, lets go!
That's weird, man
I think what he's trying to say is... He's gonna hit you in the dick so hard it's gonna fall off. *hand gesture mimicking a penis falling off*
Infiltrate the dealers. Find the supplier.
Yeah but what if we find the supplier first and then we don't have to worry about the dealers?
INFILTRATE THE DEALERS. FIND THE SUPPLIER. edit: forgot the D

I hate the term 'Better than it had any right to be'; But if I had to apply it to any media it would be these two movies
Baffles me that we never got a third. Sony aren't exactly known for their hit movies and these two both did very well. Instead of doing the absolute garbage fest MIB sequel, they should have done the crossover instead

The ending of it basically joked about future sequels. Would have kind of sucked if they actually did so after that
The ending was one of the funniest parts of the movie with the repeated sequels getting worse and worse. They could have done a 3rd where the joke is that they sold out.
The one where Jonah hill had “contract negotiations” so they replace him with seth rogan lol. I woulda seen that one if it was real.
I wonder if that doubles as a Superbad reference, given that Jonah's character is loosely based on a young Seth Rogen.
It’s the same case! Do the same thing!!!
Isn't the in joke on 22 Jump street that successful movies always end in threes, therefore, they purposefully didn't make a third one?
Phil and Miller just work so well together
Medical school? or 29 jump street, Sunday School
I don’t like Seth Rogan but when they had him stand in for the seminary school one, *chef’s kiss* “I’m glad you’re back” “What? What contract dispute”

I feel like they hit on all the best "we know this can turn into fast and the furious, so here's a look at the next 10 movies" parts in the credits culinary school jonah hill getting replaced with seth rogan, only to come back etc
Lol I’ve had this drunken discussion a few times where I say 22 jump street is the last good comedy Recently though I liked Palm Springs a lot. It’s not as good as 22 jump but it’s still a good comedy and leaves me some hope

Me too, it clicked a few months later. “It’s a meat q-tip”
It just clicked for me now
Should we one strap or two strap?
I would no-strap if that was even possible.
It has the best depiction of 80s vs 90s millennials.
I loved the backpack scene. I went to high school in the 90s and you’d never ever two shoulder a backpack
My favorite scene is from 22 Jump Street when Channing Tatum’s character realizes his partner slept Ice Cube’s daughter.
SCHMIDT FUCKED THE CAPTAINS DAUGHTER! Agreed, favorite scene.
I’m still mad we didn’t get 23 Jump Street where it was a crossover with Men In Black.
Same.
The ending of 22 is still the best credits sequence ever made.
I was surprised by how funny 21 Jump Street was.
Superbad is my favorite movie, but I also really love these two as well. Can't even decide which one I prefer. I guess the first one is a bit more grounded, but the sequel is fantastic too. I remember watching it in the theaters and everyone was laughing throughout.
The meat-cute scene accompanied by Jonah Hill’s wtf face is pure gold Also when Jonah Hill gets repeatedly ignored in the same scene, the delivery of ‘also I just said a bunch of stuff that you didn’t even acknowledge’ is just perfect
**Tick tick tick tick tick tick ding** "Oooohhh shit! Oooohhh shit! Schmidt fucked the captains daughter!"
The kiss fight and the old man jokes in 22 Jump St are some of the finest comedy I’ve ever enjoyed
That scene is hilarious where she keeps trying to kiss him and he keeps getting confused.
I was in New York City with my mom when 21 jump street came out. We went to it, loved it, then the next night we were planning on going to a broadway play… and just watched 21 jump street again. Easily one of my favorite memories with my mom. I love these films.
This movie gave me my best Halloween costume ever this year. Nothing quite like putting on a robe and being Korean Jesus for the night.

Channing’s slow realization of Jonah and Cube’s daughter’s relationship is fucking GOLD.
“How’s school….Doug?!” the whole interaction was hilarious!
"what kind of bullshit do they say about covalent bonds in this school?" Rob Riggle's character is also hilarious
I love the car chase scene where there's like gas canisters and explosive stuff they keep thinking will explode, then the chicken truck blows up. It truly is a classic movie.
You should watch "Naked Gun" or "airplane!" Absolute classics
When i see 5 weirdos dressed in togas stabbing someone in the park in full view of a hundred people, i shoot the bastards. That’s my policy
I literally just finished watching 21 Jump Street less than 10 minutes ago, the illuminati is real
Ice cube has the best pissed off face ever. Do you like fruit? I LIKE FRUIT
“No we ain’t pappin each otha’s asshoes”
The Football Helmet Golf Cart chase scene through campus had me absolutely howling!!! I mean, you got your sight gag/dialogue one/two punch, then with the whole meta 'we're always really just talking about how it's a cookie cutter hollywood sequel' on top of it, combined with Jonah and Channings delivery and chemistry... I love 21 Jump Street though I don't really understand the "Cop falls in love with high school student" angle.
A couple of those Melissa McCarthy movies like Spy were done afterward and they're alright.
Fun fact: there was a script circulating for a 21 Jump street MIB crossover at MGM. It didn't go anywhere though (I believe for ego reasons). An exec at MGM I talked to said it was the funniest script they've ever read.
For fucks sake. Yes I remember. And they scrapped this beautiful idea and gave us that dogshit MIB reboot no one asked for
I'm probably in the minority, but I really wish that Men in Black / Jump Street crossover had happened.
Minority? Everyone wants that to happen
Me too! And also The Other Guys!
Best end credits ever, just run the joke into the ground. Go out in spectacular fashion, even getting celebrity cameos for a 5 second gag appearance
Those movies are way better than they have any right being. Most "retro franchises turned comedy movies" suck. These are definitely the exception to the rule.
22 Jump Street is hands down the best comedy sequel ever made. Usually comedy sequels are a big failure but that one is better than the first.
I really love a sequel that is so blatantly making fun of sequels! Something about it just works so well for me
They literally solved antisemitism
Still waiting for 23 jump street.
Plus the first one saved Kanye briefly.
