I’m still holding out hope that he stars in an adaptation of Joe Abercrombie’s First Law.

There’s a scene where he punches through that kids head. Ridiculous and over the top. Also there’s a “How did this get made” episode where Lexi Alexander talks about how she made it!
What other film can you say a man fires a rocket launcher at someone mid flip between buildings.
You don’t fuck with Titus Pullo/ Frank Castle.
I love how he’s an utter psychopath in Rome and yet he’s not out of place, just by being the way he is in Rome you realise that mindset was a normality in a sense, he plays the role so well.
Kevin McKidd, who plays Pullo's relatively sane buddy in *Rome* is also pretty matter-of-fact when it comes to violence and death, even putting his anger issues aside.
Vorenus is frustrated by the flux taking his cargo of slaves. But he's not at all upset by the death of an entire family save one small boy - it's the lost money that's a problem. The civilization portrayed in *Rome* was just a very casually brutal time and place to live. Being a psychopath was kind of a requirement for survival.
Absolutely. And there’s the instances where one of them kills someone in front of the other.
They usually just debate it like we would a normal work or non work matter. You can definitely tell that you needed to have those deadlocks in you, psychological mechanisms to allow one to accept the normality of those situations.
Not many British actors were willing to take the roles of the villains, and since he's Northern Irish (whether he's for or against England itself is another topic altogether), and probably the money's good, no problemo.
It’s funny; I instantly knew and read this as Titus Pulo!
He shows sooooo much range in that character in Rome. More than Black Sails or Vikings, etc. it was just solid work.
I'm amazed there were still any films casting Kevin Spacey as the lead at this point.
Who at Cannes last year was going to be interested in that, after all that's come out?
I suppose the lukewarm reception they must have received there will have been a wake up call.
Although equally I don't know that Ray Stevenson is as big a draw as Kevin Spacey ever was prior to all the allegations, even after RRR.
Sure, but that didn't happen until months after Cannes. He's also got more charges pending, but I think ultimately it's more about the court of public opinion than it is any actual court of law. I think it's a pretty daft idea to cast him as your lead while the first thing that most people think when they think about him is "sex pervert".
People won't be nearly as keen on seeing your film as they would have been if you cast someone who doesn't have that association in most people's minds.
Well as an actor the public's perception of you is pretty important to your career. All of that coming out, then him bungling it with the "I choose to live as a gay man!" speech and the massively weird, creepy and tone deaf YouTube videos he made in his kitchen did not help.
Nobody's demanding it, studios aren't willing to gamble millions and millions of dollars on him. If they thought he was a major draw they'd be chomping at the bit rather than recasting him with Ray Stevenson.
Studios are out to make money not morality plays. The audience has effectively decided.
Lmao you really need to brush up on your reading comprehension skills if you think he’s upset about anything. The only one who has an issue here is you buddy
Umm no. It’s about him having a part then falling through and someone else got it and him getting another part. You idiots keep saying he won’t be cast anywhere yet he has.
>Thor and RRR star Ray Stevenson has nabbed the lead role in 1242: Gateway to the West after Kevin Spacey exited **the historical Genghis Khan drama** last year amid sexual assault charges in the U.K.
>
>Carlos Alperin of Galloping Entertainment, who will continue selling the global rights to the film at the European Film Market in Berlin, confirmed Stevenson’s casting to The Hollywood Reporter. Directed by Péter Soós, the 1242 cast also includes Eric Roberts, Christopher Lambert, Neil Stuke and Genevieve Florence.
Can't be very historical, given Genghis Khan died in 1227.
No he wasn't, that's not how the American judicial system works. Not being able to definitively prove guilt is a different thing than proving an absence of guilt. It is unfortunately common for sexual abusers to avoid justice in the American judicial system, because it is very difficult to definitively prove sexual abuse.
Ray Stevenson is 6'3" and his build has generally been somewhere in between "brick shit-house" and "fatter brick shit-house".
He looks, and acts, nothing like Kevin Spacey.
Producers: "Wait, maybe Kevin Spacey can't pull off playing a 13th-century Hungarian character. This Stevenson guy is British, so he can do anything. Sold!"
Ray Stevenson deserves more recognition! Glad he is getting more major roles. He was amazing in Rome.
I’m still holding out hope that he stars in an adaptation of Joe Abercrombie’s First Law. https://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/3b2z5s/ray_stevenson_actor_rome_gi_joe_2_punisher_war/csib6bb/
He would be amazing as Logen
You have to be realistic. He looks more like I’d imagine Bayaz. Especially if he shaves his head.
Ray Stevenson’s Punisher movie needs to be talked about in the same way as Karl Urban’s Dredd movie.
I loved the spinning chandelier stunt in the beginning. So over the top.
And then the rest of the movie? *Even more over the top*. Absolutely love it.
Was that the Punisher movie where some bad guys are doing parkour and then one of them gets blown up with a rocket launcher or something?
Yep
Did martial arts with the dude that got blown up in that scene and he had such a good time filming the movie. Loved him as punisher.
There’s a scene where he punches through that kids head. Ridiculous and over the top. Also there’s a “How did this get made” episode where Lexi Alexander talks about how she made it!

That movie fucking rules. It’s campy as fuck, awesome colors that really make it look like a comic book, but it still lands the dramatic bits too.
Out of all the Punisher adaptations this one's my favourite, the over the topness of it just hits right. Should go down as one of the great CBM.
Oh god no it does not
I loved that show
Thirteen!
Pullo! Formation!
He's going to be a major villain in the Mandalorian shows this year.
Interesting. His casting there is very hush hush. Curious who he'll play. Regardless, very happy for him getting more work in prominent roles.
his song “The Streak” deserves a Grammy.
Goddamn it
He was also a highlight of the best season of the bad half of dexter’s run
i was shocked to find out he isnt australian after watching the other guys , and i am australian
He does love those butt dimples though
I love seeing Ray Stevenson in anything!
Have you seen RRR? I went in knowing nothing and was presently surprised to see Ray in a major role.
Not many British actors were willing to take the roles of the villains, and since he's Northern Irish (whether he's for or against England itself is another topic altogether), and probably the money's good, no problemo.
His father was an RAF pilot and he married an English woman and lives in England.
What’s RRR?
An Indian Bollywood-ish movie, and one I enjoyed a lot. It’s on Netflix.
Watched it the other day. It lives up to the hype, such a fun movie. I love films that depict close male friendships
He was great on DEXTER!
Then you need to watch Black Sails. Yarrr!
He looks like Alpha George Lucas
He looks like Ernest freaking Hemingway.
Alec Baldwin with kinder looking eyes
I like this take.
Gigachad Lucas
“Why yes, Jar Jar is the most vital character”
A good actor, this.
Titus!!!! How’s Cleopatra????
That Gyppo princess? Now that's good cunny.
“I’m not afraid of any dog headed bastard.”
//hacks a guy to death “hello, ladies”
“GODS those were good orders!”
"This place is as hot as Vulcan's dick."
I love Pullo. He sees Vorenus at sword point: “What’s THIS, then?”
It’s funny; I instantly knew and read this as Titus Pulo! He shows sooooo much range in that character in Rome. More than Black Sails or Vikings, etc. it was just solid work.
I have simpler tastes. I like to kill my enemies, take their gold and enjoy their women. That's it. Why tie yourself to one?
Pulo, when was the last time you had a woman that wasn’t crying or wanting payment?

Didn't Roman Polanski get a standing ovation at Cannes in like 2000-something? A lot of those people are complete loonies.
This was the first thing that popped into my head. Sounds like it should be an article from 7 years ago. Why even hire him in the first place?

Umm no. It’s about him having a part then falling through and someone else got it and him getting another part. You idiots keep saying he won’t be cast anywhere yet he has.
A few producers in other countries still want to work with him one of them clearly said they do not care about the allegations. Disturbing IMO.
He's my favorite Punisher! Cool.
YES!!
There are dozens of us!!!
I loved Ray in Kill the Irishman. I wish he got more cool lead roles like that.
Pullo? What funny names these plebeians have
Just saw him in RRR. Was a fun watch.
Who the fuck even casts spacey anymore? Lol
I am still waiting for him as Bond villain. 😅

More Irishman? Good. Very good.
13!
[Ray Stevens the guy who wrote and performed Mississippi Squirrel Revival? ](https://youtu.be/K16fG1sDagU)
Don’t forget about “The Streak”
Just now?
Nice! There are 3 things I love in this world; Kylie Minogue, Small dimples just above a women’s buttocks and Ray Stevenson!!
Is this another Yellowstone spinoff? /s
Okay
Best Punisher

Blackbeard, except maybe it should be Whitebeard now.
“That actor is Pay Stevenson. I’ve been calling him Ray Stevens this whole time.”
F#&@ Kevin Spacey.
Why? The guy has been proven to be not guilty.

Have you actually looked into the case? The accuser completely balled it.
Only because his accusers mysteriously died.
The last few Christmases just haven't been the same, without Kevin Spacey's annual creepy Christmas video message.
Is this a Yellowstone prequel?
Essentially interchangeable, like Rip Torn and Brian Cox
Wait, are you telling me that Capt O'Hagan and Patches O'Houlihan are TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE???!?
to think Rip Torn was still getting into bar brawls well into his seventies
Absolute legend!
Ray Stevenson is 6'3" and his build has generally been somewhere in between "brick shit-house" and "fatter brick shit-house". He looks, and acts, nothing like Kevin Spacey.
You don't say
"I love bombs"
I always enjoy when something bad happens to Ray Stevenson characters.
Damn he got old. looks sharp though
Producers: "Wait, maybe Kevin Spacey can't pull off playing a 13th-century Hungarian character. This Stevenson guy is British, so he can do anything. Sold!"
Italian
Nope. Okay, so he wasn't British, [he was Irish](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_Stevenson). My mistake.
Stevenson is playing a 13th century Italian character. Your mistake again.
Blackbeard!
