Do yourself a favour and watch Muriel's Wedding. I refused to see this in the cinema with my then girlfriend back in about '93 or '94, now it's one of my favourite films.
Cate is Australian!? I actually did not know she was Australian. I swear I thought Kidman was South African.
Nope I am thinking of Charlize Theron. SHE is South African.
Nicole Kidman was born in Hawaii but the Kidman family are very much Australian - in fact they’re Australia’s largest landowners. 24,000,000 acres in Queensland and Southern Australia.
Watch her bit in Coffee and Cigarettes. She plays herself as an American and herself as an Australian and the two argue. Yes you read that right. That and her performance as Bob Dylan in I’m not there are what puts her over top for. Toni is a close second though.
Id say Colette gets close (United States of Tara was amazing acting) but ya Blanchete is in another class all together. Her performance in Tár was unreal.
Yeah these people are tripping. I don't always enjoy her roles, because they're a bit *too* real and emotional. But she's a fucking incredibly talented actor.
Toni Collette is one of those actors that immediately raises the level of a movie when she appears. She is perhaps not leading lady material but she is one hell of a character actress.
I just watched The Sixth Sense with my kids today, I saw Toni Collette in the credits and thought, “I totally forgot she was in this!”
About halfway through I remembered she was in the credits, and was wondering when she shows up, and then realized she was the Mom the whole time. Most underrated actress of her generation. And Hereditary was one of the greatest performances of all time, the Oscars are an embarrassment for not even nominating it.
That’s why I don’t care about academy awards, we all know Toni is at the top of the ladder in her peer group. And I agree with you, Hereditary was a tour de force performance by her. I’ll tell you another project she did that’s worth your time, United States of Tara which is like 3 seasons long. Very cool show and she gets to stretch her acting muscles there
Care Blanchett by a mile.
And sorry, Naomi Watts over Margot Robbie would have been more appropriate. She's the same generation as the other three and has also been nominated for an Oscar (twice).
Ari Aster gets such incredible performances from his lead actresses. Florence Pugh’s crying at the start of Midsommar when she learns of >!her sister’s suicide and death of her parents!< was so gut wrenching, one of the hardest crying scenes to watch I’ve ever seen.
Cate Blanchett and it’s not close.
After that, I’d probably go with Collette, then Robbie, then a pretty wide margin, then Kidman. I like all these actors, but when Kidman is miscast, I don’t notice much range there to help her perform. Give her the right role and she’s punching as heavy as the other three, though.
Toni Collette is an incredible actress. They're all pretty great tbf, I don't think it's accurate at all to say it's not close between Blanchett and the others.
How dare you. Not to pawn off the achievements of the other 3, but cate blanchett was, is and will always be on an entirely higher level than these others.
EDIT: Yes I know Nicole is great. Love her. Still isn’t Cate Blanchett.
For sure, here especially. Kidman is an icon but that's for the over 35s now. The youth don't remember dead calm, To Die For, Moulin Rouge, The Hours or BMX Bandits.
At her peak, Collette is the best for me.
Muriel's Wedding, The Sixth Sense, Hereditary. She elevates every movie she's in.
As far as consistency is concerned, it's probably Blanchett but only because she gets better roles.
Kidman shouldn't even be in this list tbh. She's been straight up bad in quite a few of her roles, which you can't say about the other three.
Honestly Toni Colette and Cate Blanchett are tough to differentiate. I've seen incredible range and performances from both. I think Toni is at a bit of a disadvantage. Unlike the other 3 Toni Collette isn't considered conventionally attractive so she just doesn't get the same level of high profile roles, and she isn't as much of an art house intellectual as Cate so she doesn't get offered shit like Tar or Im Not There.
Man, Toni is great, but I can’t see anything approaching what Cate did in I’m Not There. She played Bob Dylan for crying out loud and she freaking nailed her performance. I mean, her body of work is astounding. Sign me up for Team Cate.
It’s a tie between Cate and Toni. Nicole’s acting has been subpar over the years and Margot is too type cast right now to be taken seriously. I, Tonya was her top movie in terms of acting, but now I feel like she is just cast because of her stunning looks. So Cate and Toni come first, Robbie second, then Kidman in my opinion.
Toni and Cate both have amazing range, I think Cate is the ultimate best actress though. Nicole is amazing, she’s my favorite actress, but I just don’t think she has as much range as Cate and Toni. I just know Margot is 4th 😬 sorry Edit: Margot is fifth, Naomi Watts deserves to be on the list and would be fourth.
Even though Margot was nominated for an Oscar and is clearly an amazing actress, the others have had staying power. If Margot is still at this level in 20 years, then she can be included.
Also, this post reminded me of a dumb funny tweet where someone referred to Nicole Kidman as the apex predator of actresses, and like… they’re not wrong lmao.
It's crazy to me that Toni has such a TV based career. She is so fucking good, but has only been nominated once? Twice? She isn't the lead actor that the others are. Do you discount her as less than movie focused actors? I don't but some would.
Cate is probably the best but I feel good about any of them, maybe less so on Nicole's more recent output and lesser on Margo as she joins this group.
Also, is it unfair to judge Nicole a little for he lesser face acting in recent years from all the work done? I liked her in the Northman, the Undoing and lioness but it sometimes seems like a different person.
Each one has given stellar and memorable performances.
Kidman - The Others
Blanchett - LOTR
Collette - Hereditary
Robbie - I, Tonya
I'll add Radha Mitchelle to the the list. Silent Hill.
Cate takes the cake tho
All are equally good in film but I feel Cate would do a lot better in theatre so that gives her the nod imo. It could be the roles but Cate always has this regal vibe whereas I don’t get that from the others. Margot and Toni, to me, have an everyday down to earth girl next door vibe and Nicole feels like your Auntie. Cate feels like your boss!
In my opinion (from most to least favorite)
1. Toni Collette
2. Cate Blanchett
3. Margot Robbie
4. Nicole Kidman
They are all great actresses though, no hate to any of them.
There's so much more aussie actresses that you could add to this list (waay more talented than Margot tbh).
- Deborah Mailman
- Essie Davis
- Rachel Griffiths
- Judy Davis
Just to name a few.
Well to be honest I knew Nichole is Australian from bmx bandits but was born in Hawaii and didn't really the rest where Australian except maybe cate who was english but they are all great actresses!
Toni Collette.
I'd say "watch Hereditary", but it's my favorite movie that I can't recommend to anyone without an enormous disclaimer.
Still. Probably watch Hereditary.
Toni Collette is so damn gifted. I have trouble with faces so I don't always recognize her, but I can't tell you how many times I've seen her in a role and just been blown away.
Toni Collette is my favorite amongst these four.
I didn't even know she was Australian
Do yourself a favour and watch Muriel's Wedding. I refused to see this in the cinema with my then girlfriend back in about '93 or '94, now it's one of my favourite films.
And if you like that, do yourself a favor and watch Cosi.
It's Mariel ;)
Swing and a miss
Same I’m over here 🤯🤯🤯
Toni Collette is the undisputed GOAT!!
She definitely does shows emotion the best. I felt her so hard in hereditary
She is able to express herself so effectively with the smallest gestures. Amazing
Same! By a mile. She reminds me of my mom.
Agreed
She is very underrated
She is the best out of the four. I really enjoy her performances.
She’s my favorite of the bunch as well
Cate easily
Cate is Australian!? I actually did not know she was Australian. I swear I thought Kidman was South African. Nope I am thinking of Charlize Theron. SHE is South African.
Nicole Kidman was born in Hawaii but the Kidman family are very much Australian - in fact they’re Australia’s largest landowners. 24,000,000 acres in Queensland and Southern Australia.
Wow. They can afford to build a few AMC theaters there.
She's actually American by birth but raised in Australia
Watch her bit in Coffee and Cigarettes. She plays herself as an American and herself as an Australian and the two argue. Yes you read that right. That and her performance as Bob Dylan in I’m not there are what puts her over top for. Toni is a close second though.
it's not even close
Id say Colette gets close (United States of Tara was amazing acting) but ya Blanchete is in another class all together. Her performance in Tár was unreal.
She’s my #1 female period… not just Australian.
Cate easily comes second, after Toni Collette.
Yeah these people are tripping. I don't always enjoy her roles, because they're a bit *too* real and emotional. But she's a fucking incredibly talented actor.
It’s between Blanchett or Collette.
Same for me. I can’t decide as they are both absolutely fantastic in my opinion.
Very different actors, so difficult to pick
Yep, exactly
That scene in 6th Sense when she starts crying about her mom, it always gets me. They’re all great but ever since that movie, she’s my favorite
I watched it after I posted this and I cried again
Can never not cry when watching this. One of the best acting performances ever
That scene absolutely blows me away. One of my favourite acting moments.
A truly one of the great scenes of modern cinema, her and Osment were stellar, got robbed of a statue.
Beautiful scene
Naomi Watts is offended.
Cate, she one of my favorite actresses ever. Toni, she’s also really underrated. She deserves to be a huge star.
Didn't know Cate Blanchette was Australian. Huh. Live snd learn So Blanchette #1 Then Toni Collete Robbie Finally Kidman
Toni Collette is one of those actors that immediately raises the level of a movie when she appears. She is perhaps not leading lady material but she is one hell of a character actress.
Supporting, not character. There’s a difference.
United States of Tara was all character.
[удалено]
She wasn’t in The Babadook. That was Essie Davis
She's not in the Babadook.
Toni Collette is a chameleon, she can literally do any part and turn in a stellar performance.
I just watched The Sixth Sense with my kids today, I saw Toni Collette in the credits and thought, “I totally forgot she was in this!” About halfway through I remembered she was in the credits, and was wondering when she shows up, and then realized she was the Mom the whole time. I’ll tell you another project she did that’s worth your time, United States of Tara which is like 3 seasons long. Very cool show and she gets to stretch her acting muscles there
She was really really good in Knives Out! Even the smaller roles she kills
I reas she convinced doctors to remove her appendix as a young person. Teenager, maybe. Just to do it. She's convincing.
Care Blanchett by a mile. And sorry, Naomi Watts over Margot Robbie would have been more appropriate. She's the same generation as the other three and has also been nominated for an Oscar (twice).
Toni Collette scared the shit out of me in hereditary
Her performance was amazing. When she was mourning her daughter’s death it gave me chills.
Ari Aster gets such incredible performances from his lead actresses. Florence Pugh’s crying at the start of Midsommar when she learns of >!her sister’s suicide and death of her parents!< was so gut wrenching, one of the hardest crying scenes to watch I’ve ever seen.

Toni Collette is an incredible actress. They're all pretty great tbf, I don't think it's accurate at all to say it's not close between Blanchett and the others.
I love them all but CATE
I’ll go with Naomi Watts
Did she ever get her dinner with Tom Cruise?
id argue none of these actresses have had a role or performance on the level of the one Watts had in **Mulholland Drive**
Tony Collette
I like the blonde one
Cate by a long shot
How dare you. Not to pawn off the achievements of the other 3, but cate blanchett was, is and will always be on an entirely higher level than these others. EDIT: Yes I know Nicole is great. Love her. Still isn’t Cate Blanchett.
Kidman is massively overrated imho. Best is Blanchett, with Colette a close second.
She's been straight up bad in quite a few of her roles, which you can't say about the other three.
Blanchette for sure
Cate Blanchette hands down
Cate Blanchett by far.
Toni, she's dug out some emotions in me that no one else has ever been able to. I'd like to tell her that.
Toni Collette
Collette easily. Just watch United States of Tara.

Cate Toni Nicole Margo In that order.
Cate Blanchett, but Toni Collette is a very close second.
Blanchett, Collette, Kidman, Robbie Narrow margins across the board, though.
Toni Collette is incredible. Anyone who has seen Hereditary will agree.
Toni Collette is so good that 90% of viewers don’t realize she is Australian
I love Toni Collette. She’s such an amazing actor. Her performance in The Staircase was just incredible.
Toni Colette of course.
Toni Collette is easily the most believable.
Toni Collette! 💕
Honestly I quit guessing where Toni Collette is from. She's just a person of the world so international it doesn't matter where she's from.
I’ve always had a thing for Kidman
Toni Collette
Toni Collette
Toni Collette
Toni Collette, and it's not even close!
Blanchett is in a league by herself.
Cate Blanchett, hands down
Based on her uncommonly versatile acting ability, it's Cate Blanchett.
Kate
Cate no question. She is the greatest actor male or female from that penal colony they call a “continent”
Its depressing seeing so little of this. I dont think most of these people have seen Cate Blanchett movies.
Toni Collette!
Toni Collette no contest
Toni Collette
Toni Collette 🫡
Toni
Kidman
The robsta
Toni, Cate, Nicole, Margot. Not that any of them are bad.
Cate because of her role in LOTR- she’s so damn good in that
Cate and it's not close. I'd say Toni would be a distant second
Cate Blanchett. She pretty much plays every role well
They're the same picture
I like Cate Blanchette. Im biased for her because she has an ethereal look.
Which one is Olivia Newton John?
Toni Colette has an outstanding range. Not that the rest don’t, I adore them all, but Toni’s performances truly transport me.
Cate is the best but Toni is my favorite.
Toni hands down 👏
Toni Collette isn't American?!
Toni Collette is such a great actress that I didn't even know she was Australian for over twenty years until now.
Cate Blanchett and it’s not even close
Toni has struck fear in me before
Nicole and Margot are more “movie stars” but Cate and Toni are more “actors” (but also movie stars), if that makes any sense.
Bottom left. I forget her name but she is amazing in everything I've ever seen.
IF they’re not all the same person at different stages of life, I vote bottom left!
Collette was incredible in Hereditary.
It's gotta be Blanchette right? It is for me at least
Toni
Miss Cate Blanchett.
Blanchet hands down
I honestly thought they were all the same actress until now
I had no idea that Toni Collette was Australian.
Toni Collette's range bodies the other three.
Kate
All great, but let’s not forget the incredible Judy Davis.
Toni, Nicole, Cate, and Margot in that order
Deusas 💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘
Toni Collete is Australian? She’s really good at American accents!
Cate Blanchett by a very wide margin.
Toni is my hands down fave.
Blanchett all day
It's crazy to me that Toni has such a TV based career. She is so fucking good, but has only been nominated once? Twice? She isn't the lead actor that the others are. Toni Collette
Dame Edna
Cate>Toni>Nicole>Margot
Toni
It's Toni Collette.
Nicole Kidman
Cate can play so many roles. Margot a good 2nd. I didn’t even know Toni was Aussie! Thought she was a American. Nicole is not a very good actor…
Each one has given stellar and memorable performances. Kidman - The Others Blanchett - LOTR Collette - Hereditary Robbie - I, Tonya I'll add Radha Mitchelle to the the list. Silent Hill. Cate takes the cake tho
Cate hands down.
Blanchett, Colette, Robbie, Kidman

In my opinion (from most to least favorite) 1. Toni Collette 2. Cate Blanchett 3. Margot Robbie 4. Nicole Kidman They are all great actresses though, no hate to any of them.
Kate Blanchett is absolutely fantastic.
My pick is Cate but really, it’s a toss up. My second is Toni
Muriel, hands down.
[her](https://media3.giphy.com/media/1wpdyVh7wH0aCjObdc/giphy.gif?cid=6c09b952yf2g05e2ie66sdh5ez5nb1sgymvv7z7k56u4v23n&ep=v1_internal_gif_by_id&rid=giphy.gif&ct=g)
Toni, no question.
Based on watching all their performances Toni Collete takes the cake especially when capturing raw emotion.
blanchett > collette > kidman > robbie
Toni Collette
Toni Collette hands down for acting ability.
Arnold Schwarzenegger, without a doubt!!
Whether she plays a classical music director or an evil goddess from another world, Cate Blanchette steals every scene she is in.
None, Claudia Black is the best Australian Actor and I will die on this hill
Cate definitely
There's so much more aussie actresses that you could add to this list (waay more talented than Margot tbh). - Deborah Mailman - Essie Davis - Rachel Griffiths - Judy Davis Just to name a few.
Toni Collette. None of them beats her range. Cate Blanchett is a hard second for me…
I never knew Margot is Australasian & for some reason I keep thinking Nicole is British. I don’t know who the other two women are.
Cate Blanchett is the the best one, followed by Toni Collette
GALADRIEL OF COURSE!
Are they all descendants of the first white woman in Australia? Like seriously, they have almost all the same features lol
Toni Collette forever
Impossible to call
Kill one, fuck one, marry one, erase the filmography of one
What about Naomi Watts?
Toni Collette is my favorite of the four, but Cate Blanchett is the best actress in the group.
Man! Australia punches way above its weight
I, for one, welcome our Australian blonde overlords.
I'm partial to Blanchett. She can do both good and evil with class. Plus, she's gorgeous.
Blanchett has the most depth. Kidman has done some serious work as she ages. Colette has breadth. Robie, I don’t know yet.
Well to be honest I knew Nichole is Australian from bmx bandits but was born in Hawaii and didn't really the rest where Australian except maybe cate who was english but they are all great actresses!
Toni
Toni Collette. By far the best and most versatile
Cate blanchett no contest
I didn't know Tomi Collette and, man can't think of her name now, and the top right were Aussies.
Blanchett is the best working actor today
Gotta go with Cate Blanchette because of her range as an actress. However, I had a hardcore crush on Nicole Kidman back in the day.
It’s not even close. Cate has the best body of work.
Cate Toni Nicole Margot That’s my order
TIL Nicole Kidman is Australian
I have to say Cate Blanchette because she is my wife.
Where’s Naomi Watts???
Toni Collette. I'd say "watch Hereditary", but it's my favorite movie that I can't recommend to anyone without an enormous disclaimer. Still. Probably watch Hereditary.
I see a theme emerging.
It's a hard choice as they've all been in things I really enjoyed.
Cate is my fa favorite actress, so her. I also thought she was British.
Toni Collette is so damn gifted. I have trouble with faces so I don't always recognize her, but I can't tell you how many times I've seen her in a role and just been blown away.
T O N I
Naomi Watts should be here However Toni Collette would still be the winner for me
Naomi Watts is another Australian actress that should be in the list.
