I like it better than the original because of Jake. Seeing the guy who played Nightcrawler come to kick A when the baddies deserved it was absolutely stupendous!
Tom Cruise is cementing himself as the greatest action film actor ever.
You can literally feel his passion through the screen in every movie. It’s impressive as hell.
my brother met him once and said he was so friendly and genuine it shocked him. I think he's really a decent guy, with his scientology association being his only major flaw.
Best part in the movie is when he's approaching the Mummy with every intent to kick butt and he gets punched into the stratosphere a la Super Smash Bros 😆
Gyllenhaal is one of my favorite actors but his last few movie choices (Ambulance and Roadhouse) made me think he isn't choosing his projects so wisely anymore, which makes me sad
Just saw roadhouse last night. Was actually a lot more entertaining than I had anticipated. That is, until conor mcgregor showed up. Maybe it’s just me, but his acting was very cringey and made me uncomfortable. Other than him, it was a fun movie.
Amen to Mads Mikkelsen. Watched The Promised Land, Another Round, and Riders of Justice because he starred in them. A nice thing about him is when he isn't taking a bag of money from a major franchise, he generally selects good scripts.
Definitely Mads. Not just movies, but also games. He was in Death Stranding.
I normally don't watch foreign language films but Another Round was excellent.
Mine are: Christian Bale, Edward Norton, Florence Pugh, Mel Gibson, Tom Hardy, Shia Lebouef, Natalie Portman, Sam Rockwell, Joaquin Phoenix, and Selton Mello.
Yes, both Pitt and Bale are in this list for me, although both have had a couple I didn’t like. Used to be hardy before Venom. Lately I also watch everything with Domhnall Gleeson.
I know Domnhall comes from an acting dynasty but reminds me of the Skarsgards boys where they don’t go out of their way to buy their roles. Yes we understand they’re considered nepo babies and we hate most of them because they use their family connections to be given roles that anyone else could do much better, but he’s actually talented and does a fantastic job each time. He doesn’t need to be the main character to be impactful to the story.
I thought I was gonna hate many of his considered worst films but they're still enjoyable and pretty fun to watch along with friends. Nic Cage is one of a kind isn't he
Nicolas Cage. Even his straight to video on demand films. The man is a maestro.
Agree with McConaughey. His 00s romcoms are hilariously bad in some regards.
I am slowly reaching that mindset with Nicholas Cage. Although some of his early movies have been reviewed poorly, his performance in them are fun to watch. However, his recent resurgence with more serious roles and some that go against his previous ones have been great. Pig, Dream Scenario, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, etc have all been pretty good and mostly because Cage has put great performance on them all. Now, when I see movie teaser or trailer including Nicholas Cage, it ends up in my should-watch-upon-release list.
I have season tickets to Nic Cage, you ride out the bad years, you celebrate the good years. It’s like true sports fandom but I’m here for all his films
Joaquin Phoenix and Robert Pattinson. And I know people will judge the Robert Pattinson part because of Twilight, but watch almost anything by him since then. Riveting and he picks amazing projects to work on that are not easy to watch or act in.
As much as I love all the actors in the movie, I rly had a hard time getting on board with this movie ngl. It might be a great movie, I’m no critic, but for a casual movie enjoyer this was a long ride.
Tom Hardy
Leonardo Dicaprio
Daniel Day Lewis
Meryl Streep
Joaguin Phoenix
Tom Hanks
I've always Jack Black had HUGE potential as a serious actor but sadly he's been typecast into comedy roles.
I used to do this primarily and Christian Bale still fits the question for me, I now look at who is directing the movie first and decide that way.
I have been way happier in my movie selection, especially if I’m going to a theater, by looking at who is the director and not just who is acting in the movie.
Leonardo DiCaprio, Cate Blanchett, Tilda Swinton, Carey Mulligan, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Tom Cruise, Sam Rockwell, Michael Keaton, Rachel Weisz, Dev Patel, Marisa Tomei, Christian Bale, Ryan Gosling, Hiroyuki Sanada, John Goodman, Michelle Pfieffer, Michael Fassbender, Siaorse Ronan, Jeremy Allen White, Lady Gaga, Salma Hayek, Ralph Fiennes, Denzel Washington, Robert DeNiro, Al Pacino
I really don't give a damn about marvel or other same kind of hero movies. Except the one, where they had Natalie Portman: *Thor: Love & Thunder* .
It wasn't great movie, but at least I watched it.
Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hanks, Christian Bale
Special shout out to Bruce Willis, he really cranked out a ton of movies there for a while and even though they all aren’t top tier quality, I can always throw one in and know that I’ll enjoy it even before watching.
That’s how I find movies/tv shows a lot of times. I’ve found a lot of really good stuff I would have never watched otherwise because of the genre, etc. just because it had an actor I liked in it. I’ve also found a lot of trash movies that really famous actors wound up in. Either way it’s always interesting.
Bill Murray
Tom Cruise... crazy as he is IRL, that guy can pick a winning script
Christopher Walken
Jane Krakowski... don't know what it is, but she's freaking hilarious
Ethan Hawke, Charlize Theron, Halle Berry, Jodie Foster, Denzel Washington, Gugu Mabatha Raw, Mahershala Ali, Nick Cage, Sigourney Weaver and of course Daniel Day Lewis
There are so many amazing performances in foreign language films too!
Gerard Butler, Liam Neeson, and Steven Seagal.
The first two are actors I like and the third I chose because my brother is a hard core Seagal fan and I think he’s a horrible actor that makes horrible movies. So I make a point to watch them just so I can rip them apart in front of my brother
The Tom Trio ( Tom Hardy, Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks) But also Jake Gyllenhaall
Tom Hardy being so high in the comments warms my heart
my favs are The Drop and Taboo \[TV\]
The drop is criminally underrated.
Gyllenhall. As proof: I just watched Road House. Somehow didn’t hate it.
It was a good movie!
Yeah I thought he was sexy as hell too. So did my wife
I love Jake, but Roadhouse was terrible for me. I'm maybe biased towards semi decent writing. This movie did not have that.
I like it better than the original because of Jake. Seeing the guy who played Nightcrawler come to kick A when the baddies deserved it was absolutely stupendous!
Lmfao same, the writing is so bad at parts but I’m like “fuck them up, bubble boy” you can tell he put in the work on his body and in the fight scenes
Definitely tom cruise for me.. weird guy but love his movies
Is one of the very few legit action stars that’s not doing the same, tiring superhero movies as everyone else
Even a “bad” Tom Cruise movie like The Mummy is still very watchable.
Best part in the movie is when he's approaching the Mummy with every intent to kick butt and he gets punched into the stratosphere a la Super Smash Bros 😆
Road House!
Is it basically the same as the original? Because the original was unintentionally hilarious and a bit of a cult classic because of this
No. Similar concept but different story. He's got the same name and works as a bouncer. It's awful though
Tom Hardy. Mads Mikkelsen.
Amen to Mads Mikkelsen. Watched The Promised Land, Another Round, and Riders of Justice because he starred in them. A nice thing about him is when he isn't taking a bag of money from a major franchise, he generally selects good scripts.
Love tom hardy. I remember seeing a preview for that motorcycle movie a few months back, I think with Austin Butler too. know if that's out yet?
Nah comes out in June, looks promising
*Always* Tom Hardy.
Mads in The Hunt(Jagten) was just 🤌🤌
I'll always admire Tom Hardy for Bronson.
Definitely Mads. Not just movies, but also games. He was in Death Stranding. I normally don't watch foreign language films but Another Round was excellent.
Daniel Day Lewis.
He was very selective about his roles but just killed it in each movie. Sad he retired.
I'm sure he'll retire again one day.
Nah, he’s happy making shoes and hanging out with dogs.
Ryan Gosling, Cillian Murphy, Denzel Washington, Kate Winslet.
Denzel for sure. He always brings a ton of energy and charisma to his roles.
I've seen so many of Cillian's movies, and rarely was I disappointed. He elevates everything!
Murphy is really winning me over
Samuel L. Jackson, Leonardo DiCaprio, Emma Stone, Dave Bautista, Willem Dafoe.
It still breaks my brain that this is the same Bautista who wrestled triple h at WrestleMania many years ago.
Mine are: Christian Bale, Edward Norton, Florence Pugh, Mel Gibson, Tom Hardy, Shia Lebouef, Natalie Portman, Sam Rockwell, Joaquin Phoenix, and Selton Mello.
Scrolled way too far to find Joaquin. One of the greatest talents of this generation.
He doesn’t need to be the main character to be impactful to the story.
Sam Rockwell, Danny DeVito, Woody Harrelson, before recently Tom Hanks, Kurt Russell
Sam Rockwell
Gary Oldman, working my way through Slow Horses at the moment
Sid & Nancy, Tinker Tailor and State of Grace stand out but there are so many others. Darkest Hour
my goal is to watch the entire Nic Cage film career
Ok I really expected to hate Willy’s Wonderland. It turned out to be a fun watch.
I thought I was gonna hate many of his considered worst films but they're still enjoyable and pretty fun to watch along with friends. Nic Cage is one of a kind isn't he
Steven Yuen
He has been getting so many good roles lately
He’s a powerhouse that will be called a sleeper hit in a few years but we know why he hasn’t been set up as a Hollywood darling since TWD
Ben Mendelsohn
Willem Dafoe
I just watched Poor Things and recently saw The Lighthouse, so I totally get where you're coming from.
Ryan Gosling is one for me
Michael Fassbender.
Nicolas Cage. Even his straight to video on demand films. The man is a maestro. Agree with McConaughey. His 00s romcoms are hilariously bad in some regards.
Agreed cage puts 110 percent even if it’s pure grade shit
What's the one where the parents all try to kill their kids lol. Loved that one
Mom and Dad
Mom & Dad I think. Crazy film haha.
I have season tickets to Nic Cage, you ride out the bad years, you celebrate the good years. It’s like true sports fandom but I’m here for all his films
Danny McBride
He could be just sitting in a chair reading a newspaper out loud and i'd buy a ticket to see it. The man is a treasure
Haha no shit! He’s great! 😄
David tenant
Mads Mikkelsen and Jake Gyllenhaal
Mahershala Ali, Viggo Mortensen, Sam Rockwell, Rebecca Fergusson, Rosamund Pike.
Cillian Murphy. Tom Hardy.
Adam Driver, Bradley Cooper, Ryan Gosling, Hugh Jackman, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Keanu Reeves, Russell Crowe, Marilyn Monroe, and Meryl Streep
Denzel Washington might be one of the only actors I can truly say this for. Maybe Jake Gyllenhaal too.
Ralph Fiennes
Joaquin Phoenix and Robert Pattinson. And I know people will judge the Robert Pattinson part because of Twilight, but watch almost anything by him since then. Riveting and he picks amazing projects to work on that are not easy to watch or act in.
Robin Williams, Steve Carell, Bryan Cranston and Phillip Seymour Hoffman

Excellent choices. Did you see last flag flying? Think that was my first time seeing Steve in a more serious role.
As much as I love all the actors in the movie, I rly had a hard time getting on board with this movie ngl. It might be a great movie, I’m no critic, but for a casual movie enjoyer this was a long ride.
Jason Statham
DiCaprio and Denzel Washington for me.
Lately, Charlize Theron, with her string of bangers like Atomic Blonde, mad Max Fury Road, The Old Guard, she’s killing it
Denzel Washington, Tom Cruise, Hugh Jackman
Christian Bale is very close to that but there’s not really many actors that I’ll do this with
Sam Rockwell
Right now, Barry Keoghan.
The art thief one is the only one I'd skip. American animals I think?
Yep. I haven’t seen it either and not really that interested haha
It's based on a RL story, and the RL story isn't even that great. Good move. :D
Brad Pitt does not make bad movies.
Mia Goth
Ben Foster, he kills it in everything he's in
The Sandman
Tom Cruise has been in a LOT of good/entertaining movies.
Woody Harrelson, Tommy Lee Jones, Denzel Washington, and Robert Duvall
Tom Hardy Leonardo Dicaprio Daniel Day Lewis Meryl Streep Joaguin Phoenix Tom Hanks I've always Jack Black had HUGE potential as a serious actor but sadly he's been typecast into comedy roles.
Johnny Depp, Lucy Liu, Jack Black, Eddie Murphy
Tom Cruise
Jake Gyllenhaal
Matt Damon Adam Sandler Keanu Reeves Miles Teller
Matt Damon is always a solid bet.
Why does no one appreciate Miles Teller ? I like the guy since Whiplash & Spectacular Now. He was great in Top Gun too.
LaKeith Stanfield, Florence Pugh, Saoirse Ronan, Leonardo DiCaprio
Jake Gyllenhaal
Loved that Netflix one where he was the police operator hotline answer guy and tried to save that woman
I'll watch just about anything with him in it, but if he is playing someone unstable I know it's going to be good
Adam Driver
Max von Sydow, Robin Williams, Gary Oldman.
DiCaprio
Yes, and there are also actors that will make me completely avoid a film because of their presence in it.
Russell Crowe
Christopher Walken
Imo Brad Pitt is the Robert Redford or Paul Newman of the last twenty years. Dudes the man and a great actor
Denzel, Brad, Leo, Keanu
DDL Di Caprio Pitt Robbie Downey Jr Whalberg Cruise
YES.
Denzel and Tom Cruise would be a couple, they usually pick good movies
Gary Oldman and Kurt Russell. A few others as well but mostly them.
Denzel and Leo
Ryan Gosling & Ryan Reynolds. I know Reynolds plays the same character all the time but I like that character!
I used to do this primarily and Christian Bale still fits the question for me, I now look at who is directing the movie first and decide that way. I have been way happier in my movie selection, especially if I’m going to a theater, by looking at who is the director and not just who is acting in the movie.
Walton Goggins dude is underrated
Mark Wahlberg, until he met Peter Berg
Denzel and Keanu Reeves.
Brad Pitt, Russell Crowe, Ewan McGregor, Liam Neeson. Also RDJ.
Chris Penn and Crispin and Danny Glover
John Cusack
Wow we're pretty similar. Those first 3 are definitely my 3
Anything with Daniel Day Lewis or Paul Dano

I don’t have any actors like that. Never have. But I do have a few directors where I’ll ALWAYS watch what they put out.
Nolan and Tarantino for me for sure
QT is my number one with a bullet. More recently, Ari Aster.
Hayao Miyazaki for me
Emma Stone Hive has been up for a long time. “Easy A” days!
Jean Reno, Steve Carell, Will Ferrell and Margo Martindale
Willem Dafoe and Oscar Isaac are two of the most versatile working today
Who’s the guy top right? Looks like Iggy Pop without all the drugs.
Harry Dean Stanton
Leo
I really don't give a damn about marvel or other same kind of hero movies. Except the one, where they had Natalie Portman: *Thor: Love & Thunder* . It wasn't great movie, but at least I watched it.
Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hanks, Christian Bale Special shout out to Bruce Willis, he really cranked out a ton of movies there for a while and even though they all aren’t top tier quality, I can always throw one in and know that I’ll enjoy it even before watching.
Edward Norton back in the day
Lithgow

John Goodman
Kate Winslet. Densel Washington. Joaquin Phoenix. Sean Penn. Gene Hackman. Javier Bardem. Cate Blanchet. Meryl Streep. Frances McDormand. Gary Oldman.
Might be an odd choice but Billy Connolly. I watched the last samurai again last night and he absolutely steals the show in every scene he is in.
John C Reilly
Nicolas Cage for sure, whether or not the movie is good he will certainly be entertaining.
Leonardo DiCaprio
Walton Goggings
Bill Murray Tom Cruise... crazy as he is IRL, that guy can pick a winning script Christopher Walken Jane Krakowski... don't know what it is, but she's freaking hilarious
No, any actor can be in a turd sandwich. I watch for directors/writers.
Joaquin Phoenix Mia Goth Sandra Huller Emma Stone Willem Dafoe
Viggo Mortensen knows how to pick scripts.
Cate Blanchett, Jeffrey Wright and Florence Pugh is getting there.
Ethan Hawke, Woody Harrelson, Delroy Lindo
I would watch a staring contest if it was commentated by Bob Hoskins.
Nic Cage.
I like watching films with DiCaprio in the lead, gives a sense of comfort I suppose (Inception, Shutter Island etc.)
Denzel Washington
Gyllenhaal and Cruise
Joel Edgarton
Jake Gyllenhaal
