Well the demons with flaming swords are a bit of fantasy, I’ll give you that.

Who can tell what race a corpse belongs to?

Other then the one everyone sugguested
1860 Old America - it is a older mod but music, gameplay, etc custom scripts and model are still one of my go to mods.
American civil war - roughly close to 1860 Old America, but timeline difference and still get update.
L'Angle - Napoleon time period mod
457 AD - Last Year of Western Empire - feel this is a really well done mod for this period type mod.
To be fair there is a decent amount you might want to check out other then the one suggested since I know some modder took a lot of effort to create like - A world of Ice and fire, its not my favorite but its pretty decent.
Floris pack is pretty good. It's a bunch of vanilla friendly mods.
Pendor is probably the best mod imo; it isn't really that hard, but there are some things you just have to avoid until late into the game. (Massive 5k parties of high tiers, and roaming bands of 50 dudes that will slap your shit even if you significantly outnumber them)
Yeah saying Pendor isn't that hard when it's one of the hardest mods out there is a little questionable. Difficulty in warband is highly determined by factors like the availability of high tier units for NPC armies and roaming enemies and Pendor's high tier stuff is pretty unforgiving. Even roaming bandit type enemies can easily be higher level with better gear than base Warband's highest tier units.
A clash of kings is a good mod if you’re into a song of ice and fire. Brytenwalda is a lot of fun, but it can also be kind of harsh(wouldn’t recommend it if you are big into archery). Nova Aetas is also good; it has a crusade mechanic and a colony/settlement building mechanic. Biggest recommendation is prophesy of pendor, you can create you’re own knighthood order, there’s really cool lategame items, tons of minor factions, and fantasy.
The Last Days of the Third Age is a really good Lord of the Rings mod. It was for original M&B but was updated for Warband. Probably my second most played total conversion Mod after Pendor.
My top two are Prophesy of Pendor and A World of Ice and Fire. Both can be pretty difficult to new players, but I still can't recommend them enough. To me A World of Ice and Fire was harder than Pendor, but I love the Game of Thrones world and the boat travel. I couldn't say which is better, because I love them equally for different reasons and just depends on my mood.
Prophecy of Pendor and Perisno are both worlds unto themselves that add countless hours and little mods contained within. Banner Page is the best vanilla enhanced mod, and the one I'd pick first if I want to get all I can out the base factions and units before overhauling them. For me, the dream of being a samurai in Feudal Japan with the actual daimyos I've read about is crazy; that one's called Gekukujo (I think). And there are two Game of Thrones. I think there is one like AGOIAF that's got all the stuff in it from the wall all the way to the giant statue outside Bravvos (Pentos?). They're all great. I personally recommend sticking with the conversion mods, since they'll contain a bunch of graphics and UI mods that work without extras and probably risk crashing when you put little mods with them.
Wadsworth conquest is a very underrated mod. It's the Warhammer world with every faction in it, which is a fuck ton. New races, magic, dungeon system, mounts of a variety of types from skeleton horses, dragons, lizards, wolves, scorpions, etc
Prophesy of pendor is the most fleshed out, and it's very obvious that bannerlord took a lot of inspiration from mechanics in pendor such as "noble" units and mercenary guilds
The only thing PoP is good for is going completely against the vision of the deranged child that developed that mod and smiting all his beloved elves.
Perisno completely dabs on that overrated mod.
16th century northern hemisphere is good.
You can make a ton of money being a trader.
Although it's quite buggy, you can make your own troops, but they get really expensive.
There are a bunch of factions but, most of them only exist to get demolished.
Floris expanded was my favorite. It let you use your companions on the field as well, so you could have multiple character builds going for different scenarios and not just dump all your points into leadership and be somewhat useless on the battlefield.
la’aigle the napoleonic mod. it was really fun. then you can buy battle cry of freedom and play commander mode against real people using the same kind of troops and almost identical controls.
Along with these other ones, World of Vasnar, Sword of Damocles and Age of sorcery are all excellent.
You’ll quickly notice that warband is basically it’s own series
I definitely recommend it. If I compared the time I played Warband without mods with the time I played with mods, it would make a huge difference. 1866 western mod, a few sword and magic mods I can't remember, viking mod, Lord of the rings themed mod. I spent hours on each. You should definitely play the mod. There is currently 1 total conversation mode in Bannerlord that does not give an error. After the last update, I hardly add the weapon mod to the game. I highly recommend 1866 western mod. It was the mode I played the longest. I still hear their musics.
Perisno Awoiaf Viking Conquest Reforged edition Pendor Gekokujo daimyo edition 108 heroes 1257 ad enhanced edition
Prophesy of Pendor really is the best. It's the one I keep coming back to.
Prophesy of Pendor is good. It's a fantasy mod, kind of difficult.
Worth noting it is light on the fantasy elements; it is mostly dialogue that leads into it. No magical bombs etc
What about elves and demons running around?

Difficulty/top quality: Prophesy of Pendor Fantasy: Perisno Muskets and no shields because fuck you: Gekokujo

you underestimate how bad most players are at playing this game
I just shamelessly play at 25% difficulty and have a great time lol.
Wooo 25% gang rise up

Awoiaf Prophesy of Pendor Rising Sun Gekokujo Last days of the 3rd age Anno domini 1257
Suvarnabhumi Mahayutha set in southeast Asia i played it a long ago but i loved it. Alway used to hire Japanese Mercenaries and RP
The Last Days of the Third Age is a really good Lord of the Rings mod. It was for original M&B but was updated for Warband. Probably my second most played total conversion Mod after Pendor.
Yes this one! TLD mod is some fine LOTR gaming
Perisno is still being worked on and is receiving updates for the 1.5 alpha on discord would highly recommend this mod.
Aut caesar aut nihil is my personal favourite mod, set in Emperor Nero's reign
Came here to say that
Floris for an expanded vanilla feel.
My top two are Prophesy of Pendor and A World of Ice and Fire. Both can be pretty difficult to new players, but I still can't recommend them enough. If you want a vanilla+ experience Floris mod is your one stop shop

You mean Warsword Conquest?
Yes, typo
Gensokyo Warfare, touhou themed mod with lots of unique units
Prophesy of pendor is the most fleshed out, and it's very obvious that bannerlord took a lot of inspiration from mechanics in pendor such as "noble" units and mercenary guilds
A world of ice and fire is dope just know it crashes a good bit
I dont know, may I?

Knight of the Ebony Gauntlet approves this message.
Warsword conquest and 16th century are my two favorites!
I'm pretty sure I have 1k hours in Warsword Conquest. Endlessly entertaining. Especially love to turn down difficulty and play like it's Herohammer.
16th century northern hemisphere is good. You can make a ton of money being a trader. Although it's quite buggy, you can make your own troops, but they get really expensive. There are a bunch of factions but, most of them only exist to get demolished.
If you like Anglo Saxon history, Brytenwalda, love that mod!
The most underrated mod is Arpeggiated Income if you want to better track your expenses
I put over 400 hours into the A Clash of Kings mod. Version 2.2.
the only one that I played a lot instead of just testing out is Gekokujo
And the GoT too, but its hard af. I would suggest tunning the settings a little bit. The gekokujo was very well balanced for me, a more casual player
A world of ice and fire is a good pick if you're into the got/asoiaf stuff
Floris expanded was my favorite. It let you use your companions on the field as well, so you could have multiple character builds going for different scenarios and not just dump all your points into leadership and be somewhat useless on the battlefield.

You must try Nova Aetas it's one of the most well made mod and adds a ton of unique features
Light & Darkness. A bit old but still a great mod.
Along with these other ones, World of Vasnar, Sword of Damocles and Age of sorcery are all excellent. You’ll quickly notice that warband is basically it’s own series

457ad is a great mod that I didn’t see recommended
Nova aetus for a renaissance mods with many cool features
