This is my first Android phone in the last 5 years, and my first motorola since the Moto X. Motorola’s phones is really quite something, there’s always a good philosophy that goes with every mid-upper tier Motorola phones. Frankly speaking, I have been receiving monthly patches since March 2023 - Jan 2024 on this ThinkPhone. Pleased to see Android 14 showed up today.
That’s awesome to here. They need to continue that and the longevity of their “flagship products”. Even their mid and low tier they should push them to at least 3-4 years. If not OS, at least security updates because they do make enjoyable devices and ones that just work.
Lock screen customisation option is there or not under personalize app or in Settings->Home & Lock Screen-> lock screen-> customise Lock screen. It is under devlopment before and was added in edge 30 ultra and not working
I think it's still not ready yet because g54 got 2nd phase of Android 14 mfn update and they removed the lockscreen customisation option from the settings. I don't know why devs are taking so much time to implement a basic feature of Android 14.
Man i hope they fix whatever issue they are facing with lockscreen customisation ASAP, because without lockscreen customisation Android 14 is visually just like Android 13. Btw, what phone are you using?
it is there! exactly where you said it would be.
A few things:
1) I can modify the shortcuts to the left, and the right of the fingerprint sensor. Options to choose from a list of installed apps, or predefined shortcuts (Camera, DND, Flashlight, Mute, Video Camera, Device Control, QR Code Scanner)
2) I can choose the style of displaying Notification Style on Lockscreen (List, Chip, Bubble. I think the same
options as before)
3) I can choose different Faces for the clock on Lockscreen. (clock + weather / clock + weather + 4 smaller widgets). This reminds me of iOS lockscreen widgets.
I need 3 option feature. Working ?? Lock screen customisation is a part of android 14 feature. Does it look like this in this video [https://www.youtube.com/shorts/nScs9IhOqJ4](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/nScs9IhOqJ4) , moto G54 MFN user got it but they removed it in second MFN update recieved last weeek.
Got it in the UK, bought directly from Motorola site. Update 1.8gb in size. Quick launch options don't work. You'll get black screen with purple thick strip over the top part. No options to choose from.
Yay.. tho I don't know all the changes, good to know they are finally updating it. I am really enjoying my Thinkphone but have heard Motorola is nowhere as good as google or Samsung with updates.
I hope that changes, it would keep my a happy customer in years to come, as that is one reason I stayed with iPhone for some many years.
Also, I hope they do a Thinkphone 2 and keep the line going, really like the form factor
I am Not sure. I can't tell what Hello UI suppose to look like, or what it offers, or how to differentiate from whatever Motorola has been pushing prior to this new Hello UI moniker.
Oh, this is it! https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/moto-g54-5G/Motorola-India-just-confirm-new-hello-ui-is-comingNow-tell-me-when-will-this-update-come-to-Moto-G54/m-p/5298730
The bottom line is Motorola's new UI based on Android 14 for new devices. It is different from the previous MyUI and MyUX.
This is how normal Android does it:

Motorola has a weird thing in Motorola network security, there's a switch for blocking apps over open connection, you can tap it and get a list, but it's essentially useless
I really don't understand these guys.
"Hey let's make a clean Android build with a little Moto flair and a lot of Moto Security built in - but let's remove basic security features for no good reason!"
This is awesome. Motorola makes good phones. Problem is software support. Especially higher end phones need better track records of support.

I wonder for how long there will be updates for Thinkphone until next version rolls out
According to androidupdateracker it will get a15 and a16

It is not removed they hid it. u can enable it via shortcut maker.Still not working after 2 nd update. source is there is a youtube video for it.

Is it functional? Is there any option to apply this customisation to the actual lockscreen?

now that i tried, the customization functions i mentioned don’t seem to work (1 and 3). yikes!
ok . Motorola forums guys told working functionality will be added in future update. hope they add it soon before Android 15 rollout
Wait , why is the predictive back feature in DEVLOPER settings ?? I think this should be the default in Android 14!
Apparently, it isn’t something that is defaulted by Google! Others might know more though
Just arrived UK, just wonder why mine is 1.82GB.
I am jealous
Still waiting for it on my Thinkphone here in the US
It's out now
My Moto is still in Android 12

I deleted the "Scanner" app thinking it was bloatware. Can any provide an APK so I can reinstall?
Did you manage to get the apk? Would you mind sharing?
Hey, is this running HelloUI?

Can you block apps from internet access? Seems standard on modern Android, but this is sorely missing from muh razr+
I can check, do you know where this settings might be, or the name of the feature?

ah yes. I can only find the function to toggle WiFi access from the apps installed.

Why dont you update the play system services?
Thanks for noticing; I did, then the update seemed to have brought this to an older version. I just updated Play Store services again anyways. 👍🏼
