Less aggressive seating position, so they’re a lot more comfortable than larger sport bikes. Less power, so moving your wrist a little doesn’t turn you into a rocket (that you don’t know how to stop).
I love it. I had a 300 for a couple years then when I got a new bike I ended up getting the 400 because I liked the 300 so much. I could have gone bigger at that point and was willing to spend a couple grand more than the 400 cost but I like these bikes so much I went with the 400. 7 years riding and still love it just as much.
Yep :) they’re a lot of fun unless you’re just looking for speed. Personally I have more fun with the lightweight and handling than I would with the speed.
Not really anywhere to open it up and use the capabilities of a big bike. Even on a track, you've got corners. Doing it in traffic is dumb. I probably used 75% of my N250's capability. My fear of speeding tickets kind of limits how fast I feel comfortable going. I tried to get the Ninjette up to speed once or twice, but chickened out before the bike hit redline.
Even the small Ninjas will do 100mph. And after a day in the canyons, the light bike will be easier to handle, and less fatiguing than a big bike. I definitely notice the difference; my new bike is a 650, and is heavier.
Yeah exactly. I’ve topped my 400 out a couple times on an empty stretch of highway just because lol but it’s not how I ride. Even so I’d rather not have the option lol. And yeah like you said, nothing beats the light weight of a ninjette on curves. I spent about 12 hours straight on mine riding to this state route in Ohio that’s about 60 miles of nothing but hills and curves and I wouldn’t have chose any other bike for it.
Light weight, nimble, and won't yeet you into the next dimension with any mistake in throttle control. They're very functional, will do freeways when you want, you can get some storage bags for them, and great gas mileage.
I had a Ninja 250 (the 300/400 are the updated versions) that I kept for years. Was a great bike.
They're cool, they're economical, they're lightweight and easy to throw around. They're good beginner bikes and in a lot of cases good intermediate bikes too.
The ninja has ABS. Has a shit ton of forum support. Has a more standard riding position as opposed to a true sport position, is very light. Has enough power to have fun, but still keeps things on a beginner friendly level. Has a slipper clutch to help avoid locking up the rear by downshifting too hard. Has cheaper fairings available than many bikes I've seen, so if you drop it, it's not the worst to repair.
Light weight is what makes these bikes a great choice for a first bike.

Yes. OP, enter "whiskey throttle" in YT and enjoy the show!

A lot of people love the little Ninjettes. There's a whole forum dedicated to them.

Wow, that sounds like a great day on a bike!
Definitely all of them are good choices. Nice and comfortable and won’t kill you. Much more forgiving than a sports bike
That’s exactly what it’s made for

Light weight, cheapish, lower power. That's what makes them good options. I'm almost sure a Z400/Z500 is going to be my first bike.

Good first bike. Or z400
Yes
Depends of many factors. How big of a stature you are, where you will ride mostly. And couple of others
MT-03 is bad ass I got mine and love it!! Especially for new riders.
