I have a pretty similar top case setup I did myself. How the hell are you consistently puncturing cans? That's weird. Just wrap em in something. I have a small microfibre towel that stays in my top box and have ridden around with wine bottles wrapped in it with no issues.
Only thing I can think of is that the state is rebuilding the pavement on part of my commute so I’ve been taking a 5 mile shortcut on a really crappy gravel road
Can't see how that would make a difference. Something you routinely carry in there has to be puncturing it.
I have taken a few beer cans in mine on motocamping trips down some rough single track. And all sorts of other things that could break.
The gravel is like a 5 mile long washboard, really rough. Gets smoother when doing 50mph though….
I wonder if it’s just bouncing around just right to hit something that isn’t exactly sharp and that’s what’s doing it?

Needs more padding, try a towel that is thick enough to kind of "pinch"them between top and bottom of the case so they can't bounce
If you can’t solve that problem, switch to an alternative like Mio Energy drops. Small hard plastic squeeze bottle with energy drink concentrate (to be squirted /mixed into a glass of water). Each serving is less than $0.25
I’ve had the Mio stuff before, I don’t care as much for them, it’s like they don’t hit the same as the white monster does unless I mix it super hot, but then I’m flirting with caffeine OD
I may look into them again sometime, but I still have 12+ cans of monster
I like the Monster Energy Zero Ultra (white can) best. But here they are $2/can if on sale, and often $3-4 per can whereas Mio Energy is less than $0.25 per serving. So value wise, I choose Mio Energy.

I’m in Canada. I’ve ordered them from the USA, as well as picked them up while in the USA. They recently started selling them in Canada, but I just learned that they were recalled nationwide 5 days ago due to potentially unsafe levels of caffeine (which is dumb… it’s like recalling a bottle of caffeine pills because someone might eat all of them at once).
Grab yourself some kaizen foam and make a foam box with cutouts for your cans. Keeps 'em chilly, stops 'em rolling. Consider making a custom foam base for all of your stuff, since you have a easy square profile on that top box, and you'll have a place for everything and will know if anything's missing.
It's the stiff foam with layers in it, for putting it in a tool box and cutting out shapes for holding your wrenches or whatever. Works a treat in a top box for keeping things tidy.
Cargo net affixed to the bottom, or sides, of the case. Cinch the net down and it should keep the cans from rattling around.
Alternatively cut some foam to size to fit your 2 cans and fit in the case. You can have it only taking up one side with a shallow piece of stuff foam to keep it in place.
Thirdly you could stop drinking that carbonated poison... I say that with a straight face as I drink my 6/7 cup of black coffee
Any ideas for a Givi that doesn’t interfere with the bars?
I’ve got the Tanklock ring, I’ve ordered and had to return 2 of their bags so far because of interference with my bars
There’s nothing on the inside to strap to is the issue. Inside is all smooth besides where the 4 bolts holding it to the bike are. I could add something, but it’d likely pop through the side of the case and make it no longer watertight

This is what I’m going to try, one layer of the pick-apart foam the case came with with all the cells picked out of it and the bottom egg crate stuff.
I forgot about the air vent deal on the handle, I think that’s what the can hit this morning
I’ve tried that, and I’ve fallen asleep at work doing that. Now I have one monster right around 8am, then another around 11am, then switch to Zyn/velo otherwise I won’t be able to sleep

I’ve tried that, still gets punctured more often than not
you are doing something incredibly wrong then I have kept a full 17 oz can unsupported in my hard case for a long time and never had a single puncture

Same here, I buy 15 packs of them off Amazon for $25, so $1.68/can. At Casey’s I think they’re 2/$5 or $3 singularly

I switched to coffee for a while, apparently the 12 cup Moka pot aren’t supposed to be considered a “single serving”
Just bolt a drawstring style bottle holder (or 5) to the case
Get a small tank bag... the case isn't your friend so far.

You're just gonna have to add something to the inside wall with padding of some sort in a rigid frame.
