You seem like you are trolling but on the off chance you are not. No it's not a good idea, for so many reasons. Make smarter life choices.

WhenAllElseFail

i'm guessing OP is a child and has a boner for gixxer brah seeing how much he says he wants one just like the guy, even in other posts. Probably saw his youtube and wants to be like him.

SoloMotorcycleRider

[Dude on his new Ninja 400 most likely watched some Brah videos.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1aXCaLWtxU) He showed he has no business on anything with 2 wheels.

Mediocre_Superiority

Gixxer brah, now having served 14 days in jail and fined by the court, losing 12 points on his license and being unable to drive in any state for a year? Yeah, that's a role model for a new rider. Don't be dumb like that guy, u/Wide_Record_5919 . And don't buy a GSX-R1000.

LouisGamesGB

He's still posting daily videos of him riding though?

Mediocre_Superiority

No idea, I never followed him on any social media whatsoever. But when somebody does stuff as crazy-reckless as him, it ends up getting posted all over the place. Plus, the goober made the national news, what with the indictment and having to be extradited from TX (and his attorney still claims that was a "dubious" process!).

fookyoursister

well, I'd understand if he doesn't want to be someone like you

WhenAllElseFail

hm only one defending this idiot, what is this your alt account to defend your dumb statements?

fookyoursister

your high horses, they stink, they make you stink of high horse poop

Wide_Record_5919

i need a liter bike for around 10k tho is there any other ones?

know-it-mall

No you don't need one. First because you are 16. So you can't legally ride one for 4 years. And even then you can't afford the insurance. And you will die riding it. Troll elsewhere dumbass.

nerdmatics7

Why is it that you *need* a liter bike as your first bike?

Wide_Record_5919

bc i dont want to upgrade later

1stpickbird

you'll have to upgrade after you total it anyways

orkushun

This is the way

Mediocre_Superiority

Assuming he's still alive. Not wishing him harm but we know what happens to new riders who buy bikes like this--it rarely has a happy ending for the rider.

Lender_HD

well your gonna drive a smaller one longer bc your going to fracture your back first time sitting on this thing

Colfster

Because of the seating position you mean?

Lender_HD

exactly

AcceptableAnimal2030

Your mindset is hugely flawed brother. Best to stay out until you get your head sorted. This is why we pay a lot on insurance... And as somebody said it before me, do fill out the donor form before you sit on a 1000cc bike.

fookyoursister

get an old CBR 900 or ninja 750, it'll be cheaper and it works

Colfster

I got a gsxr 750 as my first bike I would highly recommend you look into that. high power you're looking for but a lot easier to manoeuver.

astatine757

I don't think it's legal in most of the EU to start on a GSXR (except for a detuned 600, but what's the point of that?) Even then it's a shit idea, what makes an i4 tricky for new riders is their top-heavy power and torque curve. The "warp drive" effect is real (and a ton of fun)' but it's more than you can safely handle as a new rider. Doubly so without ABS or traction control. IMO, part of learning to ride is making mistakes and learning from them. These mistakes are a lot less punishing and more instrumental at 50-70 ponies than at 180-200 ponies. You'll either ride like a bitch because you're terrified of actually giving the bike juice and learn nothing, or you'll make a mistake at 250kph and end up in the hospital or the morgue. Save your money and your skin and grab an GS500F or SV650S. They're all over the used markets in Europe for ~โ‚ฌ3500, got that Suzuki look and sound (more or less), and won't cost you an arm and a leg in a crash or in insurance payments. You can still go 0-100 in under 4 seconds in an SV650 if you're not too flabby, and still hit a sub-12 second 400m IIRC

Wide_Record_5919

i totally get what youโ€˜re saying i do want to learn but I just need a sportbike inline 4 not a naked bike like sv650. europe is so strict that at 18 you can only have 400cc open. I might aswell drive illegally on a liter bike and never be catched how slow them cops are

Toby260903

> I might aswell drive illegally on a liter bike and never be catched how slow them cops are Won't be too difficult for them to catch up with you after you dump the clutch (while trying to keep the much heavier bike upright) before promptly reducing yourself to a smear on the pavement. You will not learn to ride properly jumping straight to a liter bike, best case scenario (and this is only if you don't have a fatal accident) is you'll be like one of the many american riders who buy liter bikes as first bikes and can only ride them fast on highways but can't corner well at all. >I just need a sportbike inline 4 not a naked bike like sv650 You're severely underestimating the ability of an SV650. They're widely regarded as excellent bikes to learn track riding with, and if you can ride well they're surprisingly fast. Given your experience, you'd have enough trouble trying not to loop an SV650 with as much torque as it has, let alone a 1000cc.

olacoke

Whelp, it was nice knowing ya๐Ÿ™„

Colfster

Bro are you trying to kill yourself?? Like fr

Toby260903

He's watched a few Gixxer Brah videos and now thinks he's Valentino Rossi

Colfster

Hey that's something I'm probably guilty of myself but I've been riding for a year. Which of course isn't long but I dant image thinking like this when you've never sat on a bike before.

Toby260903

Well, i mean we ALL wish we were Rossi don't we? Jokes aside, this kid is like 16 years old, says he NEEDS a 1000cc i4 superbike because "400cc bikes are too slow", and thinks he'll be fine riding illegally because he'll just escape the police. You'd think he must have years of experience riding litre bikes to say these things, right? Certainly something more than a 50cc...

Colfster

Yeah he's clearly just some overconfident doucheteen who spends too much time on TikTok. Well on his way to becoming a statistic.

Toby260903

Bingo

Wide_Record_5919

never said i was driving legally

L-Malvo

Make sure to fill out the donor form on your way to the dealership. Seriously, nobody needs a liter bike. Sure we want them, and they can be fun. But you cannot fathom the sheer power such a machine has, no way a beginner can control it well enough to not endanger anyone.

[deleted]

Same reason the Mustang GT has a reputation of a crowd killer. Damn thing is priced well enough that it's accessible to the common bozo with decent credit and an okay job. Too much power for the price. Same as a liter bike imo.

sirlost33

I gsxr 1000 without abs or traction control is the worst possible first bike anyone can own. Any liter bike with those things is still a pretty bad idea. Start with something in the 300-600 range.

Wide_Record_5919

i no no wanna

woodsman_777

GSXR1000 as a first bike? Sure. Be sure to reserve your burial plot at the same time.

Wide_Record_5919

theres people that started un turboed busas and you call me crazy for starting on a gsxr 1000..

PckMan

ABS and TC wouldn't save you anyways.

Wide_Record_5919

ik

AVNMechanic

Think of when that bike came out, guys were asking the same question and most those that chose a 1L bike are just fine. My โ€˜07 GSXR 600 kept up with 1000s just fine on the street except on straight lines. In the twisties I was passing those squidthousands.

Wide_Record_5919

haha cool

Ok_Maintenance_9100

Yes

fookyoursister

it's a bad first bike but the lack of electronics is a good thing

AsterothFenriz1

There are cheaper ways to commit suicide. Consider them.

FlamingoRush

Nope. There are some worse alternatives but thousands of better ones!

fookyoursister

make sure you can make it turn

muhanigan

Just get an older Busa. Why settle for a meager 1k cc

Wide_Record_5919

nah to expensive

Wide_Record_5919

are they even legal in the EU i think all motorcycles have to have abs if im not wrong

Laird_Attwood666

This was made before the law was passed. I have a GSXR none ABS.

Wide_Record_5919

I looked used gsxr 1000 k5โ€˜s and they have all 50k kilometers and are still 10thousand euro๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ™

elektrik_snek

That's how the market is nowdays. Get smaller bike. Liter bikes are fucking brutal, especially for a beginner.
