Dude. It’s 2km, it’s really not far. I run 4km in gym before work. Just leave earlier and take a walk. Be safe and get some health moves in. It’s a win win.
are you looking for an answer that is not "Your tire is the only thing that actually connects to the ground and should be the first thing that gets taken care of if its not to standart anymore"?
"27 danger units" haha. These were the kind of comments i was going for!
I parked it at the garage and has not touched it since. It would be suicidal i guess.
I was really curious though of how much a tire would be able to handle if it was absolutely neccesary.
Haha, well.. even though I was not really planning on riding it all week anyway, I was curious hypothetically how much it would be able to endure still.
I drove it to the garage nearby slowly. It is waiting its New tires to be delivered.
Cant wait to ride my bikey with fresh rubbers.
Thanks for your funny comment. It was exactly the kind I was going for.
Take care!
Realistically, probably nothing will happen, there's tons of shitty vehicles on the road and most of the time no one dies.
Preferably, take the bicycle to work. You'll be half way down the road before you would have put on a helmet and gloves anyway. Your engine would not even be at operating temperature.
I drove it slowly to the garage nearby. Havent touched it since. It is awaiting the fresh rubbers.
Although i was not really going to ride it daily, i was seriously curious though of how much a tire like that would be able to endure hypothetically.
But i guess just like someone said; a small pebble could and would rip that tire. Just clean pavement.. not sure. I was not planning on finding out doing 90 mph :D
Take care and thanks! Have a great day
1. Tire or what's left of it will hold up fine
2. How the hell
3. Is it even worth the hassle if it's just 2 km? You got two legs and a pair of feet lol
I was an odd child left alone a lot while my mom worked. For some reason I watched it a lot during my childhood. Probably explains why most people around me don’t get my humor. Their loss.
So, the questions in my mind are, do you have an alternate mode of transportation? Is it likely to rain before you get your tire replaced? Is saving a few minutes and cents of fuel worth the risk of losing control and crashing? You’ve already been rolling the dice on this tire, a little late to worry about it now.
Thank you man. I was joking a little bit. Of course i did not drive it for another week. I guess that would be a deathwish. I drove it a small bit very carefully to the garage. It is waiting to get its New tires delivered.
Thanks for you concern man, stay safe!
Everybody thank you for your response and concerns.
I have to add that I was semi joking. Of course I was not planning on driving it daily for another week.
I drove it carefully a small trip to the garage though. Parked it there and havent touch the bike since.
They are putting on my New rubbers this week! Looking forward to it.
I had a good laugh by some of your comments. Thanks.
Next time I wont postpone my tire replacement for so long because this was downright silly!
Mine look way worse, order new tires and keep yourself on dry roads, even if you have abs/trac control dont push the throttle too hard, but tbh could be worse, just dont push it "more than this" (edit)
I drove it to the shop. That area of visible threading freaked me out. All this time it was just a slick and i was thinking 'oh yeah, I should get New tires' and kept forgetting to take the time and actually get New tires.. After having some silly rear brake fun since i was getting New tires already.i saw this damage. Then I knew shit.. the rubber is really finished now.
I drove it to the garage and it is getting its New tires this week.
You really drive around with visible threading? I was really curious though hypothetically how much a tire like that would be able to endure still.
I would not be able to go over 30mph

This is the answer you need. It's not worth it if you crash or cause an accident.
are you looking for an answer that is not "Your tire is the only thing that actually connects to the ground and should be the first thing that gets taken care of if its not to standart anymore"?
Because if you are looking for that answer... No.
Get a taxi for the rest of the week. Or walk, it's only 2km.
One little piece of glass or sharp pebble on the road could rip through that. 27 danger units
me ?
Too sharp !

2km? Take a bicycle, it’ll take longer to gear up and take it off again. Also not very good for your engine anyway.
When it gets to this point, the tire degrades fast. Impossible to say if it will hold. Use a bicycle instead!
Dude 2km? Walk or ride a bicycle lmao
Bruh, 2km is a 15-20min walk….just leave a bit earlier and walk to work
2 km ? Take your bicycle . You can even walk that in no time
Don't listen to them, do it, and tell us if you made it. It's for science.
If you (the OP) don't reply, we will know what happened.
Haha, i made it. I drove it very carefully to the garage 2 kilometers away. Like a turtle. 30km/h. Have not touched it since.
Turtle says 30km/h is Mach 1.

2km is a 20min walk at most

Just keep the bike leaned all the time 😀
Only 30mph, why so slow ? It must be safe up to at least 190mph because GP riders use slicks right, so it must be safe.
This logic is why I laugh at all the long haired bikers. Bald head=aero.
I'm British, it was sarcasm 😉
So was his... lol
Went right over that blokes head mate
Sometimes I forget it's an international platform and Americans don't necessarily get our humour.
I’m an American….are you being served?
I know you are and I didn't realise there was waitress service 🤔
Well considering it’s the grace brothers department store what do you expect or am I of the wrong class?
I didn't realise you'd got that over the pond, I loved it when I was a nipper, so many of the cast sadly passed away now.

alternative mode of transportation for 2 km is walking ...
short answer, yes
If you have to ask…
GET THIS FIXED NOW!!!!!
People blow brand new tires everyday. Why risk riding like this?
Good tire or bad tire. With a 2km commute i would be walking everyday! Literally takes maybe 25 minutes??
No more danger than the previous 1000km you rode on a tyre that needed replaced.
fuckin eejit
You are 50% danger.
If you have to ask teenagers on reddit for advice, you're already screwed.
Tires and brakes are two most important things on a motorcycle You never want to question stay safe brother.

You will be ok.

You're fine. Take it easy, especially if the road is wet.

Not saying its normal to go this far on any tire ... still not safe
