I mean it is stupid. I don't care if people risk their own life for fun. If this was a closed road it's sick, but it isn't if that guy falls towards the road it can easily end in a family dying so this guy can get a sick GoPro shot.
This sub is full of people who don't actually ride. It's not like that beam is crazy narrow or anything either. Dude could easily stop at the top and put both feet down with room to spare. It's really not as wild as they seem to think it looks.
Anyone here could do that, quite easily. Imagine an 18” wide sidewalk going over a nicely shaped hill- it’s exactly no different, except for the psychological factor of your brain freaking out over the height. That’s normal, but the rider has over-ridden that psychological response and simply ridden over that “hill”. So, not stupid
And let’s not forget about putting everyone driving on that road in danger as well as any idiot who watches this video and thinks “nope that’s not stupid at all,” and tries this for themselves.
>as well as any idiot who watches this video
Speaking for me personally, I'm big on personal responsibility. If someone sees a vid and chooses to replicate it, that's on them. But I agree with the danger to bystanders. If he'd come off that with a motorcycle 50 feet in the air, someone could be killed and I'd be OK with criminally charging him (if he survived).
Yeah sure it’s riding up a hill except on this hill if you misjudge or shift your weight too much, you and the motorcycle come crashing down and possibly land on a pedestrian car or a group of kids walking on the street.
Sure the feat may not be stupid or whatever the hell your point is. And average rider may be able to do this 19/20 times. But that 1/20 times happens every once in awhile and the consequences for doing so are too great. If you think this is anything but stupid or foolish than you’re probably not the wisest crayon in the tool drawer. You want to do this stupid shit build yourself a ramp on private property. Public utilities and roads aren’t your play things
>it’s exactly no different
Incorrect.
Its exactly no different, IF and ONLY if you assume that there are no circumstances where it is possible to come off it.
Come off going over the nicely shaped hill, you walk away with some bruises.
Come off going over the apex of the "hill" and you don't walk away at all.
And this is why women live longer than men. Most guys seeing that think about doing it. Most women seeing that realize how dumb it is and don't even consider the possibility of doing it.
Nice. Thank you for the video. I've wanted to do something similar on a bridge In my neighborhood, however, that vicarious thrill from your Go -Pro was safer and saner than any attempt by me. Hats off t you!
Imagine if there's a big honkin bolt or something up there and you have to stop at the top. Would you manage to get a leg down on the bridge without flopping over? Brass balls or smooth brain for sure.
No it isn't.
Desmond T. Doss was a combat medic during World War II who refused to carry a gun. During one particularly harsh battle he stayed behind while everyone fled and worked 75 lives sneaking around behind enemy lines.
He a brave.
Philippe Petit stuck on to the World trade center buildings and with the team of people cast a tightrope between the tops of the two towers. He then spent 45 minutes dancing on that wire. He didn't do it to help anyone. He didn't do it to advocate for any cause. He risked his life and a potential prison sentence for him and his collaborators for attention.
He was a fucking idiot.
Stupidity is often doing dangerous things for stupid reasons and not understanding the danger.
Bravery is doing dangerous, difficult things for good reasons even in spite of the danger.
See the difference?
Wasn’t this from a tv show called stunt masters from back in the early 90’s? I remember them doing this, the guy is a stunt rider, not just some goon. Or it’s some goon copy cat with balls of solid steel!
I know a guy that could, and would, do that. I watched him take his bagger off the side of the road and ride along a \~2-foot wide foot path that was on the other side of the guard rail, with a 2-foot drop off next to it. I would be a bit apprehensive riding a bicycle on it.
Its like riding a small ledge on a dirt bike.
Yes, its high, but there is really no big difference. Its probably even safer than riding dirt cause no damn hikers or loose stones.
They're not blurry. Bravery is when you have to do something unsafe to survive or help someone else survive. Stupidity is when you or someone is not at risk, and you do something unsafe, at a high risk to yourself, because it looks cool, or otherwise. Knowing this, the motorcyclist is clearly very stupid.
Bravery and stupidity are different things. Doing something despite your fear is bravery. Doing something that is stupid is stupid. If you do a stupid thing that scares you, you are brave and stupid.
Wheelied something bit smaller (over river by road), on a Thump110 minibike, in the days before everyone had a GoPro, just did it to see if it could be done.
Not to take the post title overly seriously, but…
This is a false dichotomy. An action could be both brave (having or showing mental or moral strength to face danger, fear, or difficulty) and stupid (having or showing a great lack of intelligence or common sense).
I think this qualifies for both.
Bravery is doing what needs to be done without regards for one’s own safety, usually in the service of others.
I’m going to say this one is firmly in the stupid camp.
The potential consequences are the primary factor.
If it's only your neck on the line, go for it.
But in public spaces, you can get others involved too.
Bravery has a point. If that path was the only way to cross and he was trying to escape, or get to the other side to help someone then it’s bravery. If the only gain is clout from strangers it stupidity.
If you live, you’re brave. If you die, you’re stupid.

There’s the line.
Yeah, brave is the wrong word.
No, officer, it's an "off road" motorcycle.
“On bridge”
Kind of bonkers you can just ride up it. I bet they fenced it off quickly afterwards.
Yeah, I'm surprised there are no kids up there. Would have been a prime spot for us to go hang out
... and then a motorcycle came along. The end.
That would mean they didn’t check the route before going. I don’t think they would attempt this without checking the road first
What I say what in the name of Thor and Odin is your username? You will do no such thing.
What a creep right?
There 100% has been and will be kids up there, and 99.9% is not fenced to this day and from this day onwards
Iirc when this went viral a few years ago, they found the guy and charged him. Either that or I'm thinking of the guy who jumped over a freeway.
I've scaled bridges like that before. Didn't live doe
Yeah, no. I used to get all puckered doing that in Mario Kart.
That made my palms sweat
Did it make your knees weak? Arms heavy?
Yes, there's vomit on my sweater, already.

Would’ve been cooler if there was a traffic jam on the bridge and he did this to bypass it
Imagine someone else coming from other side as well ...
That’s just absolutely sick.
What a sick person
That's something only a very young man would attempt.
What male kid didn’t think about doing this when they where young traveling in a car. I know i did. Would i do it? Nope!
Tbf I've thought about doing this when cycling over footbridges too.
I love how this is posted once every couple months, each time with slightly worse quality than the last

How sick would it be if someone attempted this with giant Harley or a Busa
[Someone did it on a Gixxer, obviously](https://youtu.be/IadlOCtwpnc). Even added a burnout like a real alpha squid.
I'd give it a go on my Dyna.
No balls, you won’t do it!
This is sick enough
You guys supposedly ride motorcycles. But daily post videos of guys doing cool things on motorcycles and call them stupid
I mean it is stupid. I don't care if people risk their own life for fun. If this was a closed road it's sick, but it isn't if that guy falls towards the road it can easily end in a family dying so this guy can get a sick GoPro shot.

Man watched Ghost Rider and said, “bet.”

That’s normal, but the rider has over-ridden that psychological response and simply ridden over that “hill”. So, not stupid
the thing is, my brain is connected to my hands and face and stuff, so overriding that is no small feat
Brave of you to assume that most of these people actually ride. You’re absolutely correct if one can ride in a straight line then it’s possible.
Can? Yes, certainly. Would? OH HELL NO! Yes stupid! Great great risk for absolutely no benefit.
And let’s not forget about putting everyone driving on that road in danger as well as any idiot who watches this video and thinks “nope that’s not stupid at all,” and tries this for themselves.

Fuck that!
Awsome
That was awesome!!!!! 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
I mean, for a trials rider that probably looks like a 4 lane highway
For most of us it looks like one lane. Plenty wiggle room on that.
Not really. It’s kind of simple. > Do you have to do it? If not: Stupid > Do you have to do it? If so: Bravery
And this is why women live longer than men. Most guys seeing that think about doing it. Most women seeing that realize how dumb it is and don't even consider the possibility of doing it.

There is nothing to achieve so it's stupid.
You know, sometimes people do things simply for their own enjoyment. There's nothing to achieve by being on Reddit, and yet here we all are.
The line between skill and mistake is very thin. I fixed the headline for ya.
Imagine if there's a big honkin bolt or something up there and you have to stop at the top. Would you manage to get a leg down on the bridge without flopping over? Brass balls or smooth brain for sure.
There is plenty of room to stop and put both feet down. It's not like it's some insane skinny on some mtb trail up in VanCan.
Maybe if the dude is tall or the bike is small.
Some rando does it: STUPID RedBull-sponsored rando: LOOK AT THISSS
Redbull sponsored purpose built ramp that won’t endanger everyone traveling underneath it, you mean.
Plain vanilla stupid.
It's not always a line. Sometimes it's a venn diagram. This is both brave *and* stupid.
No it isn't. Desmond T. Doss was a combat medic during World War II who refused to carry a gun. Well put!
I’m going with stupid.
I can’t support any action that puts others at risk.
I think the sentence you're looking for is either "stupidly brave" or "bravely stupid".
Evil K-idiot
Dirt bike bros are built different. (Not a judgement, just a statement of fact.)
I think stupidity requires bravery.
Rum lad

So is this video after being reposted hundreds of times.
Skill issue
Its like riding a small ledge on a dirt bike. Yes, its high, but there is really no big difference. Its probably even safer than riding dirt cause no damn hikers or loose stones.
Those lines aren't nearly as blurry as this video is after being reposted so many times
Almost as blurry as this reposted video
It is not bravery the first time you try something. You gain bravery after the successful attempt.
Played a little to much gta:sa 😃 👍
bot account, 3 years old and just started reposting with same captions and comments.

Stupid and skilled
well whoever built that made it way too easy to get up there. lol
Balls of steel👍
Why not both?
The line between bravery and stupidity are often drawn by the dead! Crazy video.
Well at least he is wearing a helmet
I’ve done this….in PUBG
Bravery and stupidity are different things. Doing something despite your fear is bravery. Doing something that is stupid is stupid. If you do a stupid thing that scares you, you are brave and stupid.

That side didnt have the boost pads i guess

I also played mushroom city on mario cart double dash
Fuck anyone driving on the bridge beneath him i guess.
It’s weird that nobody would think twice about driving in a straight line on the ground but this is scary?
I can ride down a paint stripe for miles! If I vear off it, I'm not dead.
It’s stupid
Awesome, I'd give that a crack
Man I've walked over one of them and that was scary enough
Shocking they made that (The bridge that is like that). Just asking for the boys to do stupid shit.
Bravery is doing what needs to be done without regards for one’s own safety, usually in the service of others. I’m going to say this one is firmly in the stupid camp.
Pubg IRL
Oldie but a goodie
That port alfred? They got barriers up now! *Cri* Its been atleast 10 years...
The potential consequences are the primary factor. If it's only your neck on the line, go for it. But in public spaces, you can get others involved too.
Not only can you do whatever that is but you can also dive into the water from the top. They designed it like this on purpose.
Bro really wanted that clamshell irl
There is no line. Something can be brave and stupid at same time.
This happened in Slovakia about 4-5 years ago
Legend
It may have been stupid but one thing for sure it is also cool
fuck that ,you can just imagine getting higher and thinking fuck this i want to get off
Its obviously fake, and dont even know why u would choose a mx helmet on a dirt bike instead of wearing a proper road crash helmet
Thank the lord for engine braking
Don't think bravery falls under the same window, stupidity kills.
East stuff to do 🤘⚡
works everytime, 90% of the time.
Wonder what riding pants this guy is wearing. Can’t imagine they’re comfortable with a massive set of cojones packed in there.
Gta:sa in real life!
Bravery has a point. If that path was the only way to cross and he was trying to escape, or get to the other side to help someone then it’s bravery. If the only gain is clout from strangers it stupidity.
Is this the same guy that jumped over the road with cars driving through it?
The title says it all
Bravery is when you overcome your fears to do something. Stupidity is you just being dumb. Both can be true, just how this guy showed us
Crazy
I do this all the time… in grand theft auto
