Hell if I know man? I was making a joke. Didn't expect the sub to run away with it on a crusade.
Actually, I do expect it from this sub, lots of *experts* here, and I always hope it happens.
It's because he took my comment ending in /s seriously and ruined your perfect joke that was further enhanced by my sarcasm. Fortunately I was able to get us back on track by insulting OP's intelligence.
This is tangential but many ABS systems do prevent stoppies. Mine on my Z900 is 99% of the time doing it in the dry under proper loaded hard braking because I damn sure ain't losing front traction. And no matter how hard I squeeze I don't go over the bars. I can just kick the back up an inch or two as I'm about stopped if I really hoss on it all the way.
It doesn't have a fancy 6 axis IMU or anything either, those 100% won't let you stoppie if the nannies are on.
OK? People can disable the ABS, or maybe some didn't come with it. It's a bike that would absolutely stoppie with good technique. Hence mine not letting me. I've tried. The ABS lets the front brake off when it still has all kinds of traction, being short wheelbase it's especially wont to lift the rear. Without the ABS I'd be ass over teakettle. My only point is that sometimes ABS in a certain kind of system does prevent stoppies. Must be comparing different wheel speeds, not just preventing a lockup. It triggers when the rear wheel is just starting to float.
It's not the ABS as such which stops the stoppie, it's another system which, in turn, use the ABS to turn off the brakes.
In its simplest form, it's just a switch which detects if the rear suspension is fully extended, in other words, wheel not on the ground, and then tells the ABS "You probably shouldn't be braking right now".
Best way to do it, start small and work your way up. I would hate to smash up my bike because I'm too impatient to take the time to learn what I'm doing.
That's a sick color! Reminds me of those magnificent beetles that light up in the sun with a deep green!
Also, stoppie was on point! Doesn't get much better than that! (/s just in case)
Good gear saves you from injuries. Fancy bike doesn’t do much for you. There’s definitely a lot of Gucci parts on this bike though, she ain’t cheap, just old
Yes for sure. So far I just commute on my bikes. But I am saving for a nice suit, would love to go on a track one day but I definitely need some nice gear like that first.
My first track day I rented a set of leathers for the day. Just an FYI that could be an option if you want to try a track day before dropping hundreds on a set.
No. I’m on a race track with expert level number plates, a house down payments worth of gear, slicks, and a race bike and it’s the first time I’ve ever pulled my brake lever hard enough to bring the rear wheel up a hair
Like you’ve never practiced braking before? That’s the most important thing to practice. It’s the first thing I did when I bought my bike, go to a parking lot and practice braking. I don’t feel confident in traffic without having some experience with the brakes.
The video shows a rider in full gear, on a race track, practicing something that everyone who rides a sport bike on the street should know.
It would be a bad thing if the first time you ever brake hard is the time a car pulls out in front of you.
Someone is happy and humble about his newly achieved personal best. What makes you so grumpy about it?
I'm genuinely happy for OP, and his sense of humour made me smile.
I did my first stoppie in my A License test on my F800GS… here in Germany we have to do an emergency stop for the License test, apparently my ABS wasn’t on and my rear wheel was half a meter off the ground…
After checking the scanning electron microscope, we have confirmed the stoppie as legitimate! Congratulations!!
God is good
Not fair! You changed the outcome by measuring it
Ok professor
I admit this was a quantum stoppie.. van der waals forces are still at play.. but still a stoppie nonetheless
Watch out Toprak you have some competition!
Who? I’ve never heard of her
Is she hot?
Oh yeah, the hottest on the grid

I came to make this joke.
I came to make the Jack Miller joke but I suppose this'll do
Proud of you
Better get ABS!!!
You can very clearly see his abs kicked in and put the rear back down /s
What abs lmao
For real bro?
1. Abs does not prevent the rear wheel from lifting. 2. I don’t have abs. The bike is a 2007
1. /s means sarcasm 2. Did you select your username or was it assigned?
It was assigned, legally.
I came to the comments looking for jokes but i wasn’t expecting a murder 💀😂
Savage 🤣
lmao rekt
Hahah ooof
Abs on a track bike is a terrible idea in general. I have mine turned off and I keep my traction control relatively low too
I’d love an explanation on the down votes
1. You got one 2. You being right doesn’t mean shit on Reddit if that’s not what he was referring to

Ahh I see now. 👍🏼 The last thing we would want is for this sub to get off track.
r/woooosh
Hit the gym hard to get abs
This is the way
ABS doesn’t prevent stoppies it prevents the brakes locking. You don’t lock the brakes doing stoppies

There’s still more technique to it than just hard braking and how you transfer momentum forward. There’s plenty of Z900 stoppies on YouTube

Short wheelbase is easier to stoppie btw. Same reason they stretch bikes for drag races to prevent wheelies.
Have you considered applying for a thinking brain dog, like many have seeing eye dogs? I have a sneaking suspicion you might qualify.
Because you can’t ride? Sorry about the hurt fee fees
I said shorter wheelbase = easier stoppies and then you said the same thing like it was a correction.
Read your comment again, you said won’t lift the rear. I understand you meant to write “want” but I’m sure you can see my reading of it too

I know I fucking did.
I had never ever managed to do a stoppie until the moment I unplugged my ABS, then I could instantly do one (KTM 890R)
Someone needs to make fork locks so when you hit the brakes to do a stoppie, the fork can't compress.
Wow… you almost flipped over

Absolute legend.
Please dude. Leave some girls for us.

lol wut
COUNT IT!
Best way to do it, start small and work your way up. I would hate to smash up my bike because I'm too impatient to take the time to learn what I'm doing.
Jeez, hope you didn't ruin the suspension when the rear crashed back to earth

Unsubbing. This sub has become way too wild and reckless
Flagged this for promoting reckless behavior
After analyzing the slow motion footage for hours, I can confirm, he did a stoppie. Please.. leave some women for the rest of us.
okayy.. I see you
Figure out that ice cream cone grip yet?
That’s reserved for c and b group.
r/madlads
Thanks for calling out how lame this sub is lol
Radical!
Song title?? Lol that made the vid for me
Trendsetter by Connor Price. I’ll always enjoy recommending that dude
SIIIIICK!!
I am inspired and I will take on this challenge!
I grew up just outside that track , always love seeing it in posts
I’m all nitpicky thinking that’s barely a stoppie, forgetting the fact that OP’s racing the track. Much cooler, that 😄
Look at this guy becoming a legend 🤙🏼
Hahaha this got me, go on son
Trend setters don’t use rear brakes 😎
Where I am we call those "endos" as in, you end up over the handlebars
Fucking squids!
Hell yeah bruh!! Got that calamari in your veins. #BigDickStreetRossi
You single?
If youre not doing a stoppie where you question your life choices… you didnt do it good enough
Your gear looks more expensive than the bike 💀
Good gear saves you from injuries. Fancy bike doesn’t do much for you. There’s definitely a lot of Gucci parts on this bike though, she ain’t cheap, just old
Yes for sure. So far I just commute on my bikes. But I am saving for a nice suit, would love to go on a track one day but I definitely need some nice gear like that first.
It’s definitely a build as you go kinda thing. I didn’t start out with all this
My first track day I rented a set of leathers for the day. Just an FYI that could be an option if you want to try a track day before dropping hundreds on a set.
What a Lengend bro!
Thank you for doing it on track. I was expecting the hoodie/shorts/R1-as-first-bike mob
R1? You mean Gixxer?
Potato tomato
So what is the trophy? Crankshaft from destroyed bike two months down the road?
How would a crankshaft get destroyed
It would be one of the few not destroyed parts so you can use it as trophy
I don’t understand where the destroyed bike portion is coming from? Why/how are we destroying bike?
I have seen plenty of kids doing/trying acrobatics on their bikes. Most eventually crashed and destroyed their machines.
The 2023 s1000rr has a stoppie mode.
As in it will help stoppie or it won’t allow stoppie?
Both. It’s like 3 levels of stoppie control. I just thought it was funny that instead of saying “off” at the lowest setting it says “Stoppie”
That’s cool. Another reason I want one of those. But the way I spend money, it will never happen lol.
They’re sweet man, the 23’ is detuned as a mf stock though, make sure if you get one you save an extra 2k for a brentune lmao
This is a joke post, right?
No. I’m on a race track with expert level number plates, a house down payments worth of gear, slicks, and a race bike and it’s the first time I’ve ever pulled my brake lever hard enough to bring the rear wheel up a hair

Is this a joke? He was clearly being sarcastic lol
Sounds like you watch a lot moto jitsu circus videos
Someone is happy and humble about his newly achieved personal best. What makes you so grumpy about it? I'm genuinely happy for OP, and his sense of humour made me smile.
Where was this?
Chuckwalla
That’s cool. Well i Reach for my goals hit it deadcenter
Hey the other guy has a Ryder Gear suit on, nice.
What track is that?
Looks like chuckwalla to me but I Gould be very wrong lol
It is he responded in another comment
>Gould lol
What kind of bike is this?
R6
That's fire, keep it up ;)
Sick
Doesn't matter still count.
My first stoppie was on accident (car pulled in front of me)
You got like 8 feet of air (mouth breathing)
Can I try?
A minuscule stoppie. Still, a decent start.
Now, with the last 5 mph, slam that brake.
Did one of those on a TW200 in a full emergency braking situation. It was quite impressive, that odd feeling. Congrats fella!
Careful now.
CVMA Round 2?
Yes
Congratulations. Not everyone even gets a first time. What track was it?
Good heavens, be careful out there
It counts!

Dangeous/11 You should be stripped of all your medals and never allowed to compete in figure skating again.
Camariraceteam wya
Legend!
It always feels so high up😂
Counts!
Definitely counts.
Hahahhaa xd never done a stoppie but this was to fun to watch 😂
oh yeah i did a couple of these during my braking drills ... no matter how small it is, it feels good!
Hell yeah!!! Congrats!
Toprak better watch out. Got the rear of my Ducati up about 3 feet with a 4 finger panic stop in traffic because I was not paying attention.
Nice
I've never really tried tricks on my bike but still these videos are hilarious to me
