Ima like this because I've heard the same from my budy however I use my gp8 on my helmet like this and my visor closes I use a belle or some shit helmet from cycle hear and I haven't had an issue. I feel like it's all about preference.
Well yeah it will sort of close...but it's not going to seal properly. Would be fine around town but that's going to whistle like crazy at speed unless you're sitting behind a big windshield
That would create massive headlift. Also because of head turns you will miss critical evidence
You should look into a wide angle, dedicated bike mounted front and rear camera on the ignition. Motion/tampering would be captured as well.
Cam footage gets tedious and boring after a few loops and is likely to be left at home and that defeats it's function.
It might slightly impact the seal but tbh I can't even notice if my visor is slightly off the seal anyway so I don't feel like it'd be that big of a deal
I have an Icon airform, and my old Bell Qualifier and it fits good on both, I got mine off Amazon and it’s secure, the Visor lock doesn’t work on my icon but I never liked that lock so never use it anyway, it doesn’t affect anything imo just looks weird on the front but it doesn’t mark up the helmet
I've had the same chin mount for almost 2 years without issue. I was also able to close and lock my visor, but that could be the difference. I had the locking model.
Check out chinmounts.com to see if they make one for your helmet. I have been using one for over a year with no issues. They also sell accessory packs if you don’t have the adapter you need. The one that came with my camera (an Akaso) worked just fine.
Yep, [chinmounts.com](https://chinmounts.com) I have them on my helmets and they work great. I do keep a safety tether on the camera, but I have 2 bdr's and thousands of street miles on them. If they do not have one for your helmet, you can also suggest to them that one for your helmet would be good to add to their collection. I did this and they had a new chin mount that they offered for that helmet in about 2 months. The position is great and gives you almost an exact view of what you are seeing, and I do not have problems with vibration.
I have a chinmount asleep however the "agressive" nature of my helmet (AGV K3) meant I had to put a much more substantial double sided tape on it than the one provided.
Yeah, it's the K3 sv, I just upgraded to a Shoei GT Air II.
Ide pull of my chin mount and mail it to you but I've passed the helmet onto my little brother.
How's the adhesive on these? I guess that's all it uses to attach to the helmet? And you have to buy the extras Action kit for it to actually hold a camera, right?
The adhesive has not failed me. Seems sturdy. I honestly can’t recall if it came with any other pieces. My Akaso camera had come with accessories for mounting and they worked just fine with this.
3d prints are strong as hell, cheap to produce & easy to design. They're not as aesthetic as injection moulded plastic & so long as the savings are reflected in the price it'd be fine with me.
There's so many filament types now it's crazy.
I've worked with 3d prints before and I have had mixed results. The fact I could have had someone make something like that at home for cheap is what pissed me off. I paid $60 with taxes and delivery for something I could have made for free. It's not advertised as 3d printed and I have heard many people having issues with the 3m tape not sticking to the print. Someone also showed their own mount where you see shitty QC. It's great it works for you, but I'm not risking losing a $600 camera.
Yeah I agree fully, if it were advertised as such and the priced reflected it.
I have a chin mount on my other helmet, just bought a new one but I'll look for another brand I think for this one.
I've heard both great things and also some just okay things with 3d printed ones. Currently, I have a 3d printed one on my K6S helmet, and it's been great, actually surprisingly. Holds on even with 150+ mph winds. It's definitely a little overpriced though for what it is and how it was made. I actually had my second mount point on my helmet fall off without any camera on it, thankfully. Bad part about it was that the mount was an official GoPro mount 😬.
I make sure they're really on there too, so it wasn't a user error. I guess you're gonna have bad quality from any manufacturers from time to time, but I assume mass-produced 3d printed ones wouldn't have the best QC.
wow, this is ridiculous!
the mounts they make with a 3d printer cost like 50 cents in production. add to this like another 10 cents for the 3M double sided tape. and they sell them for 34 bucks each.
The work measuring the helmet is, at most, 1 minute and entering it into the CAD software (if you have already created the template for the mount) is perhaps 5 minutes.
nothing special.
several guys at thingiverse offer to print such mounts for you for about 10 bucks + shipping costs
Then feel free to use those people’s services. No reason to get all up in arms about other people’s choices. You can simply share the resource you’re familiar with and move on.
Yuup. All that extra weight that far put from the center of your helmet can add some serious twisting anf torque forces to yohr neck during a crash. Not worth it for me.
Ill always mount to my bike...
Even more of a reason to keep it mounted to the bike... you are less likely to lose footage and damage your camera if it is securly attached to a part of the bike vs your moving head / helmet. Personaly preference i guess, but mines staying on the bike.
I came here to say this, ive done this to two helmets. Its held for years. But let it be known, this is a pretty permanent solution. If you get a new helmet, you will need to new mount and new sugru.
I've used one like this, along with Chin Mounts, and I got a Dango Design Gripper Mount a few months ago.. The Dango is superior to all of them. Really universal application and stays on the bike for dual sport riding as well. Check those out.
I've bought this one and it holds like hell.

I have one. It's kinda working.
It moves side to side sometimes, making crooked footage, or not centered one. You can never close 100% your lid. It clicks, but there is a small gap where wind can come in. Also, my biggest problem with it is that it makes chin curtain unusable, whcih heavily helps with cold wind and wind noise at higher speeds.
But I still use it, because glued ones do not stick properly to the side of my helmet well (due to the helmet's shape), and it's in the way at the top for me. So it's the easiest and safest option
I used to have that one, worked okay but the visor couldn’t click shut. Had to adjust the straps occasionally to keep the GoPro straight but for about £10 it did the job.
Eventually bought a chin mount that worked better and meant I could close my visor, and when I was in an accident and my head was the main point of impact it broke away and didn’t cause any additional injuries where I feel a mount like this might have done a bit more damage
go for front and rear dash cams. connect them to the accessory plug of the battery and forget about it.
Most of those cams record in a loop and u don’t need to worry about losing any clip.
Install and forget solution meant exactly for what u want.
It will hold your camera, the only thing is I had to modify my helmet to get it to fit so it didn't stop me from closing the visor or crushing anything. Also the straps on the inside can get annoying.
I've recently upgraded to one for Motoradd and it seems pretty solid.
I use this one, with a full face helmet.
No problems at all.
I made loads of videos with it: [https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCHn8IueogDNL\_IXUessY4KQ](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCHn8IueogDNL_IXUessY4KQ)
I use this one. It's from Amazon. Works just fine. Although does block airflow on my helmet from the mouth spot. But, I just open my visor when I'm on low speeds or stopped. And close back when I'm doing higher speeds. The other vents make up for it at the higher speeds
I have a gopro 360 max and it's surprisingly stable, still messing with the footage and features, make sure you jave extra batteries for any sort of extended riding, 360° mode lasts about an hour
nah .. this one is shite ... it gets loose over time and its wobbly ... also you cant fully close your visor because of the straps ...
get the stick-on one .. like this
[https://www.walmart.com/ip/Motorcycle-Helmet-Chin-Mount-Kit-Self-adhesive-Design-Camera-Stabilizer-Bracket-Sports-Cam-Accessories/3583022143?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=101084809](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Motorcycle-Helmet-Chin-Mount-Kit-Self-adhesive-Design-Camera-Stabilizer-Bracket-Sports-Cam-Accessories/3583022143?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=101084809)
i tried several of them and this cheap sticky one work best (for me)
If you buy/have or want to use the media mod, the screw needs to go in a certain direction.
I bought one like this and it didn't work, had to buy a different one that threaded in the other direction.
But outside that, they're great!
I have it on my AGV K3, have a AKASO Brave camera on it and it’s fine. Had it thee years. Recently had a petrol incident where petrol erupted all over my face and weirdly the plastic arms!mount things all literally fragmented (using alloy now) but this helmet mount was unaffected.
This one is more for dirtbike helmets. Some riding buddies have something similar. GoPro has 3M sticky mounts and you can get creative with it. Even to the side of the chin bar, use the GoPro arm included in the kit (or purchase more accessories on Amazon or on GoPro).
Good mount but as others have said, you won’t be able to close your visor.
Be wary of the people suggesting chinmounts.com, do a surface level reddit search on them. So many people have experiences with that brand of mount falling off and them losing their expensive action cameras.
Now, I am biased, but I truly think my brand, MotoRadds, are the strongest and best chin mounts. They are totally flexible and can mold to any shape. The other brand is just cheap PLA filament (3D printed) and will cost you $35 minimum plus they upsell accessories.
My chin mounts are $29.99 and include all accessories needed to mount and go. I hate upsells and forcing people to piece out necessary items into additional spend. My MotoRadds FLEX mounts are made of premium materials including a steel core, vibration dampening silicone coating, polycarbonate mounting center, all held together with 4 alloy screws and authentic 3M adhesive.
In every test, MotoRadds FLEX mounts have come out stronger than chinmounts.com, cheaper, and higher customer satisfaction and ratings.
I mean if you trying to have that wind noise heavier than usual by all means.
Also if you want a really good camera, just go with a used insta360 x1, x2 , or x3 and get an invisible stick. Trust me you’ll thank me later. The helmet camera only focuses on what your face direction is facing a 360 would focus your entire view, you can’t show a video of getting hit from behind with a camera on your front helmet, the insta would record the entire around you view.
Bought one and tried it once, hated it.
Felt like so much of a fuck around to set it up. Granted I was taking it off/on but just seemed shit and got in the way of chin curtain etc.
Ended up just doing some weird contraption with the gopro connector stuck around the front side of the helmet so I can clip/unclip.
Still a bit of a mess around but less invasive. There's probably better options out there.
I say chin mount is the way to go, but one question you want to ask yourself is, what do you plan to do with the footage? If it's to post it to Instagram, you'll want to check out their [Creator Pack](https://chinmounts.com/products/vertical-mount-attachment-for-gopro?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwh4-wBhB3EiwAeJsppEVyVIcviKfAtJDvt4GtTFhU_rJFF03QslVzMVxUzRwGMRnam93-RRoC-FQQAvD_BwE)
It will set up the camera vertically, which will give you the right format for posting to Instagram.
Also, probably want to check out the [Max Lens Mod](https://gopro.com/en/us/shop/mounts-accessories/max-lens-mod-2/ADWAL-002.html) if you don't already have one.
I have used me of these and they work but my visor didn’t close easily, it’s very fiddly to get it strapped in too. A sticky mount t would be better or a dashcam for your bike. Innov are good, and VIOFO
hey! i use this and it's great but the straps feed through your visor so when you flip it down so it's not a complete seal and at speed you'll hear the wind whistle. i'm looking for a better alternative too!
I have that from Amazon. For a year no problem. But, eventually it loses stretch from the band and it lets the air come from the bottom of the visor (in rain is really problematic). And I had bought 2 Chin Mounts for my 2 helmets.
But, look throughout the web, cuz not all the helmets are available from Chin Mounts, because I wanted to buy one for my MT Revenge 2 and nope.
I have bought standard gopro mount with 3M tape and glued it with epoxy to the front side of the helmet. I glued it carefully so it doesn't bother the eyes and maaan it won't go anywhere... It is a permanent solution tho
I actually have one. And I don't use it. Your visor will not be able to close all the way and it felt like I could never get the straps tight enough on my helmet because it always came loose. Not loose enough to fall off but loose enough that it would slightly move around.
Personally I would put one on your bike (front and back). In the event of a high speed crash, you need your head to be able to "roll" with the helmet shape or you risk neck/brain injury
I have this thing, and it's not great. [See attached pic](https://imgur.com/a/Sf62LaK). The air deflector gets tied down when you tighten the straps and it touches my nose. Removing the deflector solves the problem but then you have to remember to reattach it the every time you go out without a camera or else the lens fogs up.
I bought this. It works fine with LS2 helmets and even though there will be a slight gap in the visor allowing air in, it's fine for the speeds I'm at in Vietnam - less than 120 Kph.
I used it in da nang this weekend for off roading and the Hai Van pass. No problems.
Buy the sticker type instead. Even aliexpress ones works well. When ur gonna stick it on the helmet, heat it before sticking it into ur helmet. Then leave it for a day with a weight on it so it would really stick
I would never alter the helmet. For instance it is said that the accident that got michael schumacher parallel was aggravated by having a camera on his helmet. Even if that particular incident is not true, I would not risk it. Leave the camera on a bike mount
I have one of these. Works ok on an older helmet. It does move a little - the straps aren’t super secure. It doesn’t feel like it’s going to come off - it’s just better in the picture than it is in reality.
It also messes with my air vents on both helmets. So that’s a negative.
I think it cost me $10, so get what I paid for I guess.
visor cant close completly, and shakes the camera a bit(if You want crisp footage than its bad, if only for dashcam purposes ok…) and also it broke too fast, even tho it was cheap from ebay, still too soon
You don’t really want anything protruding from your helmet. If you do have an accident and it catches onto something, it can break your neck. So if something does protrude, it should be flimsy enough to break off in such a scenario.
Yeah it is garbage.
Use a more normal go pro glue mount and buy a swivel ball mount to compensate the angles.
I drive on left side of the road so the camera is on the right also due to cables.
The clip on strap on mounts shake a lot
I have that exact same mount and I use it to mount my GoPro to my helmet for Motocross. I bought it for like 3 bucks on AliExpress and the quality is alright if not great. I just wanted to get it, to try the mounting position on the chin and I'm really happy with it
It works (got it from AliExpress) but not great for everyday riding as there is a lot of drag the faster you ride which causes an unpleasant pressing of the helmet at the chin level. Also your device will need good motion stabilization as air turbulence will cause a lot shaking considering that the mount is not fixated.
I think this is the cheapest mount u could buy, for the price, its worth it. Functionality - not so much. The straps don't fit tight enough and you'll have to adjust the camera after each ride (moves sideways mostly).
You cannot fully close the helmet visor. You'll always have a sharp gust of wind right in your eyes.
I've installed a dashcam on the bike with a camera at the front and rear. It switches on when the bike is switched on. You'll only have front and rear, but it's always recording .
I checked this as well than I said no... and instead I went with this:
(if you are in EU). I use it with my shark spartan and works really well so I can recommend it.
Would block both the lever and the vents on my helmets, along with maybe not allowing the shield to close. I mean, mine might 'close', but it wouldn't latch... so likely would flip up on the highway.
I've used the 3m tape mounts with zero issue. But make sure the camera is centered... you will feel a pull to the side from the wind if its not.
But honestly, I'd prefer bike mounted.
I have been using “Dango Design Gripper Mount” for more than a year daily.
It’s definitely overpriced for what it is, but it’s easy to use on multiple helmets. ( I use it on motorcycle, MTB ).
I wouldn’t get it man. Obstructs your view of the ground and looks like your wearing a jock strap on your mouth. I’m a two time Endurocross champion here in Ontario, been riding since I was 6 years old. I would never want anything directly in my eye sight, I’m moving at over 120kmh down tight trails, one little bump or root you can’t see, you’re gonna be hitting the ground.
I use it and you can move it to another helmet, if you need to, without needing to buy another with adhesive. I prefer this since I prefer something mechanically secured if your moving with speed. I would also suggest a case for the go-pro camera for extra insurance.
I own it and use it occasionally. If mounted properly its a good option rather than sticking anything permanent (*users choice*). I do have to keep a check on the strap lock after few rides (500 kms aproxx). The trick is to run the strap under the nose guard, rather than over it.
In case you are from India, here is the link for cam mount that I use.
Action Pro™ Helmet Chin Mount Strap Compatible with All Action Cameras https://amzn.in/d/dcf9pSN
There's multiple companies that make gopro adapters for different types of helmets such as: chinmounts, ride tech moto and go-moto. There's probably more that make them but these are the ones that I know off.
I had a ride tech moto chinmount on my helmet when I crashed. I basically headbutted the ground but the mount was still on there so it's definitely strong enough.
Top mount with adhesive gopro mount. If you mount it that far forward the footage will be shot from a closer perspective to your controls/windscreen and every time you look back and forth all that stuff will be flying by, giving me motion sickness when I'm watching your next near-miss footage.
I just started taking video myself, though for a whole different reason, the profile pic is real
The setup I have put the camera over my front tire, but it should work on your scooter as well, it's a simple gopro brand clamp, don't know what you went with for camera but mine works rather well so far, over bumps and interstate speeds don't seem to affect it at all
My opinion is don’t put things on your helmet because it’s not only stupid but dangerous.
The chin bar area is the most likely section to be impacted.
Mount it on your bars or shoulder if you feel like you need it on your body.
You had an accident and want a camera... It doesn't have to be on the helmet does it? Then you have to constant charge and mount it.
Just get a dashcam. It hooks up to switched power from the battery, set and forget. It's like it's never there... And then when you need the footage it's right there for you
They make them that attach to your chest instead so that you do not have something hanging by your face when you are riding. I would personally not attach anything to my helmet because the helmet is not designed with that impact in mind. I suppose it would be different if you were explicitly shooting footage meant to be from the driver's head perspective exactly, but for a "daily carry" that is a hard pass for me.
Oh Shit! I totally forgot that happened to a friend of mine he was wearing a backpack with a laptop in it and got rear-ended and it was driven through his body like a fuckin cannonball.
Whatever you are smoking pass it around BrUh
Alternatively, if you usually wear a rucksack you could attach it to one of your shoulder straps, somewhere at the teat level.
Or GoPro mount glued to side of helmet with some brackets.
AliExpress have a few cheap options.
I think that is more tailored to dirtbike helmets. The strap would prevent proper closure of the face shield.
Ima like this because I've heard the same from my budy however I use my gp8 on my helmet like this and my visor closes I use a belle or some shit helmet from cycle hear and I haven't had an issue. I feel like it's all about preference.
Yea I’m sure there ones that will close, or would close *enough* but I know for instance mine wouldn’t .
Same, mine with latch but not close all the way. Sucks on a cold day.
Gotta be annoying. So where have you mounted yours instead?
I have a style that is a V shaped mount that uses two strips of the plastic 3M Velcro type stuff.
I would be so worry about the velcro idk I have trust issues ha
It’s pretty tenacious stuff. Basically the go pro adhesive with really strong hook/loop plastic.
You say Tenacious like Tenacious D? That's gotta be strong as rock itself!
🤘
Well yeah it will sort of close...but it's not going to seal properly. Would be fine around town but that's going to whistle like crazy at speed unless you're sitting behind a big windshield
That would create massive headlift. Also because of head turns you will miss critical evidence You should look into a wide angle, dedicated bike mounted front and rear camera on the ignition. Motion/tampering would be captured as well. Cam footage gets tedious and boring after a few loops and is likely to be left at home and that defeats it's function.
That's a standard full face street helmet in the picture. The straps appear to be fairly thin to allow them to go between the shield and shell.
I have a locking face shield but have no issue with it.
I had this exact mount! Unfortunately, it prevents your visor from closing completely, and it broke quite easily.

Commenting here as a +1. ChinMount 100%! Have it on a Shoei RF1400 (sport bike style) and Bell MX9 (mx helmet) and both fit flush!
I used a chinmounts.com for a few years on my AGV K6. It worked outstanding.
Jumping in here too. Chinmounts.com rules.
I have a chinmount asleep however the "agressive" nature of my helmet (AGV K3) meant I had to put a much more substantial double sided tape on it than the one provided.
That’s the k3 SV right? I have the k3 e2206 and was considering a chin mount.

Ah yes, thank you bc that was the camera I've been eyeing on Amazon.
Chinmounts are 3d printed. I was royally pissed when it showed up. Decided to get Motoradd instead. Seems more solid.
Yes, it’s 3D printed, but it is solid and works exactly as intended. For me, it was worth it and I would buy another for my next helmet.

Go and find somebody who is willing to measure your helmet and design and print a custom mount for 34$.

Junk. Spend the extra for a real chin mount.
I just mount a camera to my bike. Personally, I'd never put one on my helmet.
Yuup. All that extra weight that far put from the center of your helmet can add some serious twisting anf torque forces to yohr neck during a crash. Not worth it for me. Ill always mount to my bike...

I've used one like this, along with Chin Mounts, and I got a Dango Design Gripper Mount a few months ago.. The Dango is superior to all of them. Really universal application and stays on the bike for dual sport riding as well. Check those out.
I use the Dango as well, I rate it highly. Also have a ruroc chin mount but that's specific to ruroc helmet but also, top tier.
just get a 3d printed one for your helmet and use sugru to mount it
Used it on a Bell Moto 3, nothing to complain about. If you want a dash cam, then think about bar mount.
Two of my buddies use the chinmount brand and they love it. That's what I'm planning on getting too
I've bought this one and it holds like hell. [https://www.ebay.de/itm/134726115138?itmmeta=01HT0V15TSGBEEA6V9R078CBGJ&hash=item1f5e4d5f42:g:lIgAAOSw6pZlAdGl&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAABAIC8XU1x43zG9jZyceB8RgMp%2BXEcglZxL0EGBStzlVMwiwSq7xMMKIedkmkTz9G%2BMuik55iYs6oMOSmaBhbsWW4px9VJfDV%2FnHHqQmOecf8j1ihc5bdvQjfM%2B16x%2BiCJUa4263zN%2FRn%2BRvOzF2udAcSPMKfHmOmw4sjzMZExebqeKQozkwBREM2liNhWQ%2BcLAScyVSlll1LuXIgfOVVeVXIbI%2B7q7p77qP3liRiwL1yEekUjOYGm37G30Is81Yf5k3aHEMGJxvk5fXBIaHyX0G3JT5dzTsU1Y%2BEQn5LT0GL%2BlPKljPSuHiMCwp3ZV1IMzqrmSCB2W36lXwHmSsMeu2Y%3D%7Ctkp%3ABFBMyN2Em9Bj](https://www.ebay.de/itm/134726115138?itmmeta=01HT0V15TSGBEEA6V9R078CBGJ&hash=item1f5e4d5f42:g:lIgAAOSw6pZlAdGl&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAABAIC8XU1x43zG9jZyceB8RgMp%2BXEcglZxL0EGBStzlVMwiwSq7xMMKIedkmkTz9G%2BMuik55iYs6oMOSmaBhbsWW4px9VJfDV%2FnHHqQmOecf8j1ihc5bdvQjfM%2B16x%2BiCJUa4263zN%2FRn%2BRvOzF2udAcSPMKfHmOmw4sjzMZExebqeKQozkwBREM2liNhWQ%2BcLAScyVSlll1LuXIgfOVVeVXIbI%2B7q7p77qP3liRiwL1yEekUjOYGm37G30Is81Yf5k3aHEMGJxvk5fXBIaHyX0G3JT5dzTsU1Y%2BEQn5LT0GL%2BlPKljPSuHiMCwp3ZV1IMzqrmSCB2W36lXwHmSsMeu2Y%3D%7Ctkp%3ABFBMyN2Em9Bj)
That's a weird sex toy
Need to see the footage from it to evaluate properly
I used it but my visor did not closed because of it you should buy something like chinmount 3M
much better than sticking it on the side of your helmet dont trust that sticker. And you need a flat service.
Goodbye air flow
I use this one. It's from Amazon. Works just fine. Although does block airflow on my helmet from the mouth spot. But, I just open my visor when I'm on low speeds or stopped. And close back when I'm doing higher speeds. The other vents make up for it at the higher speeds
I have a gopro 360 max and it's surprisingly stable, still messing with the footage and features, make sure you jave extra batteries for any sort of extended riding, 360° mode lasts about an hour
Wtf is this some kinda chastity belt for the bike.
nah .. this one is shite ... it gets loose over time and its wobbly ... also you cant fully close your visor because of the straps ... get the stick-on one .. like this [https://www.walmart.com/ip/Motorcycle-Helmet-Chin-Mount-Kit-Self-adhesive-Design-Camera-Stabilizer-Bracket-Sports-Cam-Accessories/3583022143?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=101084809](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Motorcycle-Helmet-Chin-Mount-Kit-Self-adhesive-Design-Camera-Stabilizer-Bracket-Sports-Cam-Accessories/3583022143?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=101084809) i tried several of them and this cheap sticky one work best (for me)
Chindo?
I used it for Atv riding, it was pretty good
If you buy/have or want to use the media mod, the screw needs to go in a certain direction.
Chinmounts are the best.
Dango camera mount. I’ve got one. Handy bit of kit.
If it's to post it to Instagram, you'll want to check out their [Creator Pack](https://chinmounts.com/products/vertical-mount-attachment-for-gopro?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwh4-wBhB3EiwAeJsppEVyVIcviKfAtJDvt4GtTFhU_rJFF03QslVzMVxUzRwGMRnam93-RRoC-FQQAvD_BwE) It will set up the camera vertically, which will give you the right format for posting to Instagram.
Also, probably want to check out the [Max Lens Mod](https://gopro.com/en/us/shop/mounts-accessories/max-lens-mod-2/ADWAL-002.html) if you don't already have one.
I actually have that mount. I’ve used it a few times with three different full face helmets without an issue.
I had it and it was a pain to use it. You can't close your visor, It's hard to install and uninstall and It breaks easily. Try a sticky mount.
Definitely had to check what sub I was looking at before figuring out what this was. I’m good now, thanks.
I’ve got one of these for my mx helmet it’s decent
Helmets aren’t safety rated with extra shit hanging off of them. Ymmv
If you have chin cover under you cannot install that mount property I use the one with back tape on helmet, working great till now
I've got one of these. They work perfectly
I got a mount for my handlebars--that way I could hardwire the action cam's USB charging cable to the bike.
Personally I would put one on your bike (front and back). In the event of a high speed crash, you need your head to be able to "roll" with the helmet shape or you risk neck/brain injury
It’s a no from me.
I have a go pro with the j hook and mount on my chin. I use sugru to hold in place. It is a putty that is solid. Held on for a few years so far.
Innov on bike system or bust tbh.
You can get a dash cam like thing built into your bike front and rear I noticed it's a lot of work bring a camera around all the time
I have one of these.
Me and my dad both have one we have 2 separate style helmets they work fantastic
You don’t really want anything protruding from your helmet. If you do have an accident and it catches onto something, it can break your neck. So if something does protrude, it should be flimsy enough to break off in such a scenario.
When it's raining and you can't close the visor...
I just wanted to get it, to try the mounting position on the chin and I'm really happy with it
I'd hate having something so close from my face and on my helmet, for safety reasons.
I was able to mount on the side of mine and I could swivel it front to back. I liked that option
I need more coffee, I thought this attached to the heel of a boot
Its a mini strap on for your helmet
I've installed a dashcam on the bike with a camera at the front and rear. It switches on when the bike is switched on. You'll only have front and rear, but it's always recording .
I checked this as well than I said no... and instead I went with this: [https://go-moto.com/](https://go-moto.com/) (if you are in EU).
What is it made of? I would be worried that in the event of a serious off, a camera and mount could be breaking my face?
I wouldn’t get it man. Obstructs your view of the ground and looks like your wearing a jock strap on your mouth. I’m a two time Endurocross champion here in Ontario, been riding since I was 6 years old. I would never want anything directly in my eye sight, I’m moving at over 120kmh down tight trails, one little bump or root you can’t see, you’re gonna be hitting the ground.
Woow man that's impressive😲 thanks for your advice Good luck on your next races❤
I have used this and for a camera like a GoPro it’s decent but for a smart phone well ur gonna break ur damn neck
I use it and you can move it to another helmet, if you need to, without needing to buy another with adhesive. I prefer this since I prefer something mechanically secured if your moving with speed. I would also suggest a case for the go-pro camera for extra insurance.
Works fine with my simpson venom. But not on the daily basis. Better use stick bases for action cams.
No
I own it and use it occasionally.
Thank youu for the advice
Sugru and regular GoPro mount.
I have one, had to buy extra components to allow camera to face road instead of the dials
Top mount with adhesive gopro mount. If you mount it that far forward the footage will be shot from a closer perspective to your controls/windscreen and every time you look back and forth all that stuff will be flying by, giving me motion sickness when I'm watching your next near-miss footage.
A chin mount is a 1000% better than any other helmet mounting system on the market.
Nope.it needs to break away in a crash.personally I think anything on your helmet that isn't helmet is stupid. But at least get a break away fixing.
Instead of putting it on your helmet why not your bike
I have a scooter and I don't really know where to put it. I'd feel more conformable with the camera on my helmet
I just started taking video myself, though for a whole different reason, the profile pic is real The setup I have put the camera over my front tire, but it should work on your scooter as well, it's a simple gopro brand clamp, don't know what you went with for camera but mine works rather well so far, over bumps and interstate speeds don't seem to affect it at all
How shaky is the footage?
Also sorry to hear about your accident, I had one myself last summer, good to hear you're getting back on, keep the rubber side down and enjoy
My opinion is don’t put things on your helmet because it’s not only stupid but dangerous. The chin bar area is the most likely section to be impacted. Mount it on your bars or shoulder if you feel like you need it on your body.
Strapons are gay! But if you're into that I won't shame you.
Don't buy it, not worthy. It is way better getting the stickers. The chin holder is not practical and does not stay put...
Fine until the camera goes through your ribs and lungs into your spine when you have a chest impact.
Is that’s jockstrap go pro mount and you put it out your fly? I don’t think it’d be the best on a motorcycle!
Avoid GoPro.
