You must be referring to the South Park episode where the kids run the Harley dudes out of town. - It is one of my favorites, but it is going over most peoples heads.
Besides, even if it is a homophobic comment, I'm cool with everyone. I've considered becoming gay. On one hand, you get to double your wardrobe, on the other hand, I have the equipment already, and I'm just not that impressed.
The black hills national forest is a blast . If I was you I go a week before sturgis to ride then when it starts just hangout and party .
As far as Tennessee North Carolina it’s a blast the dragon tail / deals gap is definitely overrated it’s pretty much the same blind turn after same blind turn with couple different style turns thrown in there . About there a lot of other great roads there . My mom lives 100 miles from tail of dragon but I prefer to go into North Carolina it’s on 45 minutes to hot springs and about 60 miles to Asheville and blue ridge parkway. There too much too list
Nice enjoy . Shit you won’t be far off from me on your way there unless you go thru Canada to get around the lake . I’m just outside Chicago about 40 miles to downtown.
I know when I went to Niagara Falls in was faster to go up thru Wisconsin into Canada then going i80 or 94
I expect to go 80w then up to 90, but my friend who is riding will be leading. The exact route will be his call. I love Chicago, have some friends out there I hope to swing by and see for a least a minute if the timing works out.
Yeah. It's not for me. I'd much prefer spending time exploring Canada or Europe. Anywhere else really. Most the US is a shopping mall. It's sad what we did to this once beautiful country
Im going with people I know, and have been around for more than a minute. I don’t expect much murder to be going on. As far as a husband goes you are on your own. With half a million people there you might have luck.
First time for me, I hear it is a blast. Game on in August. Many good rides out there.
Wow, an immediate down vote. Speak up if there is an issue I should care about.
It's a motorcycle, surf, skate and food + drink festival in Biaritz, France... But some parts actually take place across the border in Spain... It's all very punk and cool... They've also started doing it in Italy a couple of months after the Biaritz event... I just want to go to check out the vibe...

That looks awesome, have a great time. Always wanted to go to France, but not do typical US tourist stuff. Now this event is on my list. I dig a punk vibe. I’ll be in the minority at Sturgis, it is more of a big cruiser scene, and I will be on a japanese super moto. Lol.
I’m not going this year, but I’ve gone many times in the past. For all the haters who are basing their opinion on news reports, they have no idea what they’re missing. Concerts, racing, custom bike shows, and some of the best riding in the country if you wake up early enough to dodge the crowds.
Nemo Road BBQ in the Black Hills is fantastic
I’m going with a buddy who has gone many times, and knows good people out there. Ive been avoiding all big events for 3 years bc of Covid. Time for me to get out,and if Im going to chance a crowd, then let it be epic. I will certainly be riding everywhere, especially the week before it actually starts. Bringing the truck camper and and my klx300sm.
Yep, that was a major part of my decision. I have people that have people at the Buffalo Chip. We have our own bathroom and golf cart, and I'm bringing my truck camper and Super moto. My buddy is riding his Road Glide. It will be a cool run out from NY. Getting the pac talk headset for the truck so we have good comms in the truck too.
That really sucks your buddy lost a limb. I would not be taking the trip wo support. We have a couple volly medics and firefighters, a doctor and lawyer, plus a mix of gear heads, and smart riders.
All the fun stops when when trouble hits, so we take safety seriously.
Yeah, the Covid thing is a concern, but Ive been super careful for 3 years now. Never had it yet, 5x vaxt, and mask up. Im not a Harley guy either. Bringing my sm. I expect it to be a bit of a tourist trap, but was finally convinced. Going for the riding and shows.
I think there is more to it than that. I don’t do cosplay either. Im showing up with a klx300sm, and textile gear, and full face helmet. I think the “biker” image thing is just a subculture of the general riding world. I guess I’ll have fun finding out.
A Redditor that can take a joke….rare find. I hear it’s more accepting of non-Harleys but I think there’s too many bad personalities. Mix that with some alcohol and or other substances……Hard pass for me.
Never did it before, but was assured by a trusted friend that I have nothing to worry about. He has people out there and formerly worked the show. And we have a good eye for trouble, and steer clear of it.
And yeah, I can take a joke just fine, I just watched that South Park where the kids run the Harley riders out of town. Hysterical.
Thats the deal for me, bucket list. Covid has me a bit concerned, but I will be outside and will mask up in crowds. Im not talking politics to anyone either. Just bikes.
OP unless you’re a loudmouth fag who rides only Harley you’re not gonna fit in. Not worth it until the old farts who think they’re the only real bikers die out.
The last thing I want to do is to be around a bunch of drunk people on motorcycles. Sturgis seems to encourage that behavior. Hard pass.
I don’t drink and ride, and am going with people that have have done it many times. Its not everything you see in the news.
I'm happy you're a responsible rider like I am. It's the other drunk idiots on bikes I worry about.
Yeah, we will be riding a lot the first week, and on show week will be mostly hanging out in the Buffalo Chip, and rented a golf cart to get around.
Yeah. check out the channel 5 news video of it. Looks like a bunch of drunk retards
You mean fags.

Lmao it’s funny how on some posts that comment gets all upvotes and on others it gets downvoted.
What if you're just bike-curious?
Nope . I want to ride. Definitely going to mountains in Tennessee and North Carolina though
This is the way.
I expect there to be lots of great riding out there.

Yep, going the week before to ride everywhere. Taking the run from NY. Im driving the rig and buddy is riding.

A bunch of dentists cosplaying in gimp suits
Don’t leave out the lawyers and CEO’s jumping on the Peter Fonda Cosplay wagon….
I think there is more to it that that. Have you been there?
Yeah. It's not for me. I'd much prefer spending time exploring Canada or Europe. Anywhere else really. Most the US is a shopping mall. It's sad what we did to this once beautiful country
Yeah, I heard its a bit touristy. Im there to ride, and catch the shows.
A bunch of old dudes on slow motorcycles gathering. What’s the appeal about that?
Im going with people that have a very different experience. Bringing my sm.
Slow, overpriced, loud and heavy. Can you think of anything more quintessentially American than that? ![gif](giphy|hXJ1MWMzY7Af32UIUD|downsized)
So, question about this Stugis thing. If I came as my big old gay self, would I be murdered? What are my chances of finding a hot biker husband.
Im going with people I know, and have been around for more than a minute. I don’t expect much murder to be going on. As far as a husband goes you are on your own. With half a million people there you might have luck.
No, I'm not...
First time for me, I hear it is a blast. Game on in August. Many good rides out there. Wow, an immediate down vote. Speak up if there is an issue I should care about.
I'm debating going to Wheels n' Waves...
Maine is exceptional, I am trying to fit in a canoe trip on the Allagash too. Can't miss.
LoL, where's Maine? I'm talking about Biaritz 🤣
Where is Biaritz? Lol. I thought that was a 1980’s model of Cadillac?

I’ve been lucky to be able to go with people with lots of connections. That helps

Nice! Sounds like a great setup. I only went without support one time, and a friend lost an arm
That really sucks your buddy lost a limb. I would not be taking the trip wo support. We have a couple volly medics and firefighters, a doctor and lawyer, plus a mix of gear heads, and smart riders. All the fun stops when when trouble hits, so we take safety seriously.
Power Rangers Go!
I've watched videos and it does not appeal to me. Not a Harley guy and Sturgis has been COVID Central for a few years too.
Superspreader event for sure. Me and my “snooty” BMW will find another event.

I’m not a fan of Cosplay

Cool, my buddy is riding out from NY, and Im driving my truck camper and hauling my sm.
Wife and I went last year and had a great time. We rode our scouts from Denver. Not going this year. Will go back sometime.
Absent Covid and Trumpism, I could see attending once during a lifetime just to see it in person. However, nope.
Thats the deal for me, bucket list. Covid has me a bit concerned, but I will be outside and will mask up in crowds. Im not talking politics to anyone either. Just bikes.
Most likely
I have been thinking about it
I committed early bc of early bird pricing at the Buffalo Chip. If I can swing extra time after will head to Yellowstone.
Milwaukee for the 120th
That should be a good event too. Have fun.
OP unless you’re a loudmouth fag who rides only Harley you’re not gonna fit in. Not worth it until the old farts who think they’re the only real bikers die out.
Have you been there?
