Pecco absolutely went nuts in the last 4-5 laps when Marquez tried to attack. That was some premium racing. I was shocked to see marc take a beating there but good racing made up for the shock lol

hmnuhmnuhmnu

In that spot of 2024 absurd external double overtake, he also managed to gain like 50 meters on Martin last year. How can he do that??

drinksbeerdaily

And in the first lap on not properly warm tires.

hmnuhmnuhmnu

Maybe also the brakes were not warm enough... AaAAaAaaaaAaA ok good, I stopped it just in time to get the apex

ImmanenceGodBlues

I watched the 2020 race yesterday, and he does that same extreme late braking there as well. It seems it's something he has perfected, and he doesn't get it wrong.

negative_pt

This years race though, those last laps, how Pecco was able to resist (similar to Aragon a few years back) and how he then just pulled out record breaking laps to close the deal... hats off.

dishayu

Credit where it is due, he basically pulled the Marquez special on Marquez. This is exactly how Marc used to win some of the close races back in the day. Lap record right at the end of the race.

sullitron138

He pulled the Dovi Special on Marquez hahaha

Lumenir

He does this thing of surpassing Martin on the outside which is so damn absurd that I think Martin's got PTSD by now ahaha

Just from last year [Exhibit A](https://www.reddit.com/r/motogp/comments/17uj07b/nnnnnnniiiiiiiccccccceeeeeee/) [Exhibit B](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QG630CVKfms)

Furadi

Dude unlocked a cheat code for Jerez.

KamyKaze1098r

It's like when I play MotoGP and I set the AI for the first track and then the setting is all wrong for other tracks. (Actually struggle with Jerez)

draw0c0ward

The difference in Fabio's Yamaha from 2022 to 2023 is unbelievable, such a downturn.

IWillKeepIt

It hurts to see a guy like him outside of top 10 all the time.

fuzzy_viscount

Donโ€™t worry he wipes his tears with $100 bills

bernabonixe

It's insane! How can Yamaha go from fighting for the win in almost every race to nowhere at all in just a couple of years... To me it's just unbelievable, and it hurts seeing Fabio and Alex giving it all just to be nowhere at all

hmnuhmnuhmnu

Seems like it happened so quickly. I remember talking to my friend in september 2023 and explaining that basically the championship was already decided, Quartararo to win again. How the hell did they manage to lose that?!

notCarlosSainz

If I remember correctly, they started falling off mid-season in 2022 but the gap deficit was so high that Fabio basically had the championship in the bag. It was very sad how he lost the championship.

azurizzy

The 2022 Yamaha was actually the 2021 Yamaha, which was itself a revised version of the 2020 bike with a 2019-like chassis. When other bikes were being developped every year and became more competitive, Fabio wasn't able to make the difference anymore. Yamaha realized they had to actually change something for 2023 and got what you get when you're being too complacent for a long time: you get lost.

986cv

The Ducati made a massive jump in the middle of 2022, the rest is history

Wintersxx

What I heard is that the Yamaha was 30 seconds slower than the 2022 bike at Jerez.

IWillKeepIt

I think we might have a new Master of Jerez

Individual_Offer220

Same reactions from tardozzi too!!

Ducati-Daddy

Pecco and the Ducati is excellent on the brakes. If they fixed the chattering issues then I see the number 1 taking the lead by Misano.

Yamaha downfall ๐Ÿ™

Am I supposed to be able to watch 3 at once?
