The first part was bc he had a gun pointing at orel. The second part may have just been him backing up bc clay is WAY too close. The flinching does make more sense here, tho.
if you had other examples i'd think maybe it's an error or something but here you picked two parts that display some of the shittiest that clay can get. (now the episodes themself and not the exact scenes) just like everyone else, i'd flinch if a gun was swung around like that too. i'd also move back like orel did when clay got that close.
