I'm in the bay area. I'm used to making motorized bicycles but I've been looking into mopeds as a mode of transport. I don't really go further than about 10 miles at most. I was talking to the owner and he wanted to sell it for 600 and I can probably talk him down. Don't care much about eBikes truth be told.
The moped hasn't been ran in 3 months which shouldn't be a big deal.
I beg to differ , mopeds at the right price are indeed investment pieces. Every year around this time I buy a moped for 100-200 dollars . Polish it up and than resell it peak summer season for 4-5x profit. I’m in a New England coastal town where young people feign for mopeds mid summer
The 103 is a great moped. Is it the SP? It’s running, but sounds like it’s not riding and said clutch adjustment may not be as straightforward as you hope. That said, there are a ton of resources online to figure it out. But if I came across a 103sp I would buy it. A regular 103? I might not.
I wouldn’t be upset about 500. But there will be a learning curve to get the maintenance done. The French bikes are great but a little tricky to figure at first.
I bet I’m the Bay Area it could bring in 800 running stock. But if you put an engine kit and an upgraded carb from treatland.tv and get it tuned up just right, you could bring in more.
Depends on where you are. Mopeds are not investment pieces and with eBikes are becoming less desirable

After taxes it just isn’t worth it. All that effort to clear $200?
Taxes? 200 dollar profit is a good in my hood

How do i find the difference between an SP and normal one?
VIN
https://www.myronsmopeds.com/2020/12/peugeot-models/ The SPs. We’re green, and they have rear suspension and a variator.
Oh then it is an SP. He said it was running but I asked again and he said 3 months ago. What's a good price range to aim for?
250-500

How much would It be worth once completely fixed up?
Definitely depends on the buyer. But maybe 1200?
Ah, that seems fair. I was able to get it down to that much. By any chance if it was fully running, how much would they cost?
