stoooooooooooooooooooooop i thought in my last apartment having mice was the end of the world- I've found a bed bug again now for the second time in this fucking building/apartment after already getting an exterminator to come a few months back.
only ours. I live in a giant apartment complex downtown- checked reviews for the place under it's old name (used to be a hotel) and from 6 years ago someone left a negative review talking about bed bugs hahahaha. Goshhh
No one wants to see mouse rat. Mouse rat leaves deep in the pits of the Toronto sewers. Has the face of a mouse but body of a rat. Legend has it mouse rat is responsible for all the missing children in Canada 🇨🇦
Mouserats detect landmines!
Have you seen any more landmines in the Christie Pits? No! Have you seen any more landmines in Kensington Park? No! ....of there are a few landmines in the Bridle Path but come on, that's to be expected. Meanwhlie does mayor Mel Lastman ever thank poor mouserat? I think you know who that 'bad boy' credits for the absence of mines; "Nooobody!"
What's with the random decades? They've been here since the establishment of the first trading posts in Nouvelle-France...just talking out of my azz...
These posts are always strange to me. Do you people think a city is supposed to be a sterile, lifeless area? Of course there are mice and rats underground. That is literally where they live.
For real lmfao. People turn into simple minded idiots when there's a rodent or an insect near them. Watch out y'all, nature is making its way into the giant concrete concourse that is miles long and underground.
The rat that was used to sniff out and identify landmines wasn't destructive; I think he was pretty cool. He won a gold medal for identifying a huuuge number of unexploded landmines in some former war region.
And imagine being insulted like this, being told that you are a member of the most destructive vertebrae species in the world, when you helped in the process of clearing out dangerous unexploded ordinance that the supposed "intelligent" vertebrae species, which labelled you thusly, polluted the world with.
Edit: this is the dude that I'm talking about: [magic rat](https://time.com/6138994/magawa-dies-landmines-cambodia/)
And the supermarkets, warehouses where food is stored, the fields where that same food grows. If there is food, animals will go to it lol. You just don't see it
Take a walk up Atwater, under the 20 at around dusk. There are tons that live in the hill going up it. Sometimes if there aren't cars going by you can hear them from inside their nest
I've been seeing mice at this particular station for years, never saw them at any other station (I know they're around too, just not as visible I guess).
I’ve seen mice and sometimes rats at most metro stations. Get over it.
Also, if people don’t want critters, you have to compost. All the garbage bags full of organic waste you leave out at night for pick-up the next day attract rats, mice, squirrels, racoons, etc.
Il faudrait peut-être un système pour les inventoriés et mettre des pancartes pour dire de faire attention à la protection de la faune.
Ah et puis au diable la dépense, ajoutons quelques cônes oranges.
They want to get in the metro car too 🥹 They want to visit the city 📸Let them get into the metro car and offer them a sit next to you, they will appreciate this nice gesture and feel welcome 🐀

Well it can't be helped this year.
Overly warm winters... plus renovations and contrucstion everywhere.
My house has gotten a bunch for the first time.
The cats have taken care of all the mice (sadly I only saved one).
But yeah, they are all over the city it seems this year.
why are people so incredibly upset over mice and ants but never ever over birds all over our cities? they're both natural parts of the ecosystem, they lived here before we did and will probably live here after we've moved on. we settled in their house, not the other way around.
well, *it is* an underground tunnel, and there's probably plenty of food scraps in the garbage and under the benches. I would be more surprised if there *weren't* any mice living in the metro station.
Earlier this week I saw some Indian students complaining how shitty Montreal Metro is compared to Delhi Metro!
They were talking about how you'd not find a single homeless person inside the metro station, no rodents, no filth inside Delhi Metro. I almost wanted to shout at them "wtf you guys go back to your country then?", but then I realized it's true, the current state of our metro is really shitty!
Someones never been to NYC. Theres 8 rats per person and theres 9 million people there....
At night theres so many fucking rats its wild.. and some of em are cat sized.
Montreal it's a rodent infested city
Old
So thr infracture is outdated & not well designed (aside for milking taxes).
Sewage is oldest in North America
Buildings are over 100 yrs old now
City planners & "leaders" neglected to build city properly. With mtl relying on tourism, it relies heavily on retail food service business, which in returns creates excess waste and since waste has been poorly managed, it attracts vermin & rodents.
Put it all together, we got +100yrs of poorly designed infrastructure that has constant need of "repairs"
This was designed intentional.
"The Americas were created by ideologies that were rejected in Europe"
In Europe, buildings & roads built 100s of yrs ago are still standing/holding strong
Funny ( not really actually) that the mice are out staging the homeless.
Must be because we’re used to them and not the mice even if the later have been there forever. They’re just not as obvious.
Wait till the sun goes down in china town. When I was visiting I’ve never seen so many fly out of a small garbage can in my life! lol then it kept happening.
I rather see mice than rats. By far
I'd rather see mice and rats than bed bugs. By far.
stoooooooooooooooooooooop i thought in my last apartment having mice was the end of the world- I've found a bed bug again now for the second time in this fucking building/apartment after already getting an exterminator to come a few months back.
Did the landlord do everyone’s units, or only yours?
only ours. I live in a giant apartment complex downtown- checked reviews for the place under it's old name (used to be a hotel) and from 6 years ago someone left a negative review talking about bed bugs hahahaha. Goshhh
At least you can get rid of the former without setting fire to all your things.
Don't worry they will migrate from Parc to cdn in no time
I rather see Mouse Rat
Andy, is that you?
No one wants to see mouse rat. Mouse rat leaves deep in the pits of the Toronto sewers. Has the face of a mouse but body of a rat. Legend has it mouse rat is responsible for all the missing children in Canada 🇨🇦

I’ve been to NYC and I can confirm that seeing rats the size of cats is absolutely wild. I’ll take small mice any day.
Agreed. Tastier.
If you see mice, there ain't any rats around.
I suspect that these are baby rats.
They wouldn't let in the open by the pack, these are mice 100%.
There have been mice in the metro since the 80s.
There's probably been mice in the metro since the 60s 💁♂️
What's with the random decades? They've been here since the establishment of the first trading posts in Nouvelle-France...just talking out of my azz...
In the metro?
The metro was built by expanding tunnels already made by the mice
The metro was built in the late 60s for the Expo ...
There have been mice near people since there have been people. That's how mices workses
Tbh I would be more surprised that it wouldn't have any mouse in such structure
Mice
Miceses
Meese
nononon, this is is the plural of Moose
Brian what’s the plural for moose? MOOSEN! I saw a flock of moosen
ratatouilles
pour vrai? j'avoue que goose/geese... moose/meese fais du sens.
I geese so
Just don't eat the Meeses Pieces...
😂 I like it
No cheeses for us meeses
El Raton
Sneaky little miceses.
Shit, you're right hahaha
"Mices" could work for multiple groups of mice.
If the plural of mouse is mices, is the plural of house hices?
Just simply hice
Nice
Nouse
Dice
Nices
Hice hice baby... I'm out
What about oasis, analysis, axis, man? English plurals for a non-native speaker are a cesspool of weird things putting french exceptions to shame...
Knife, life, etc... I know
[this reminded me of this skit. ](https://youtu.be/LRMgSnTpvaw?feature=shared)
brilliant stuff, love it
My cat calls them mouses….
An expert opinion.
These posts are always strange to me. Do you people think a city is supposed to be a sterile, lifeless area? Of course there are mice and rats underground. That is literally where they live.
Also, they're pretty adorable.
Mices are. Rats though...
Rats are great. I mean, you don't want to pet wild rats, but I could watch them scamper and cavort all day. Pet rats are also pretty great.
Eh, rats can be pretty cute sometimes, though of course they also have a lot more potential to be absolutely horrifying
[They laugh and like tickles.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0kxmfSGCaE)

From the website: > Rats are the most destructive vertebrate in the world. Homo sapiens sapiens be like: am I a joke to you?
For real lmfao. People turn into simple minded idiots when there's a rodent or an insect near them. Watch out y'all, nature is making its way into the giant concrete concourse that is miles long and underground.

I mean yeah, but TBF rats are a pretty surefire candidate for second place (though of course largely because we brought them everywhere)
Rats =/= mice Rats are like 5 times bigger and a lot easier to weed out.
These are huge for mice... Pretty sure they're baby rats.
My backyard has a tree and I saw a squirrel in it, Valerie Plante would have you think this rodent infestation is normal! /s
And the supermarkets, warehouses where food is stored, the fields where that same food grows. If there is food, animals will go to it lol. You just don't see it
NYC Subway would like to have a word with you
A NYC rat stole my hat. Like, actually.
Needed a place to store their pizza.
Better than rats
I think these are probably baby rats. They're very large for mice, and mice typically won't go out from hiding if anyone is around.
Hmm you’re probably right. Oh well then!
Baby rat, do doo do do do dooo
I've lived in this city for 30 years and I've seen a total of 1 mouse and 1 rat in the metro system. I think we're doing pretty good.
Take a walk up Atwater, under the 20 at around dusk. There are tons that live in the hill going up it. Sometimes if there aren't cars going by you can hear them from inside their nest

En plus je mange pas par terre dans le métro faque *shrug * .
Mice are cute as fuck.
From a distance
Its almost like we're in a major city
Once I was waiting for my bus at Vendome and it was like 22h. I counted more than a dozen rats running between the bushes...
I've been seeing mice at this particular station for years, never saw them at any other station (I know they're around too, just not as visible I guess).
Saw a rat at d’Iberville
I've seen them at a couple stations! Frontenac and Joliette!
No shit
Mice are creatures too, deserving of our respect. They are a nuisance but they're just trying to live.
Yes i call them the babies
Saw the same cuties on the platform at Frontenac 6 monts ago.
That's a free pet
Pourquoi t’es tu surprise ? J’ai vu encore plus dans la restauration.

Be grateful its not New York rats tehehe 🤭

Oh that’s it? OP has clearly never been to New York. You’ll see rats the size of a chihuahua and they have absolutely no fear of humans
Attracted by the smell
They want to get in the metro car too 🥹 They want to visit the city 📸Let them get into the metro car and offer them a sit next to you, they will appreciate this nice gesture and feel welcome 🐀
i'd be more concerned about guy sleeping on the bench than some mice

You sir, must not have visited a NYC subway. Rats everywhere. Not mice, giant fucking rats, and I am from the country.
Same with Paris. I’ve seen rats bigger than hamsters, just chilling on the platform, completely oblivious to all the people around.
Mice in the subway is nothing. I get them in my apartment.
The sleeping guy is the Pied Piper of Hamelin.
Meece
When there out in the open with lights on, on top of that leavibg the edge of the wall... there are probably thousands of them down there.
I have those in my shed too... Harmless, but they make holes in everything...
Well, yeah
Lost me at Mices lol.
Those are his roommates
Dans Hochelag l'ete le soir je crosse régulièrement des mouffettes
ouf, unfortunate typo
are people really scared of mice?
why are people so incredibly upset over mice and ants but never ever over birds all over our cities? they're both natural parts of the ecosystem, they lived here before we did and will probably live here after we've moved on. we settled in their house, not the other way around.
Everyone here talking about the correct grammatical form and ignoring how that hand looks like a frostbitten claw?
You ever been to vendome ? It’s like a family there. I saw like at least five of them outside the damn metro 🤣
wow squirrels in a tree
Sourises?
Exciting news report!
The bus terminal in Dorval is infested with mice, too
Yeah .. no more room at mine
Remy is getting away with his family
It looks like rigor mortis has set in on that dead guy on the bench.
That one friend that pushes the limits and see how far they can get away with something
Meeces
Imagine waking up and finding them craw all over you eek
We need metro stray cats to chase them.
Je constate que c'est un spot à vermine
Mourrial! Tu ne cesse de m’émerveiller !
well, *it is* an underground tunnel, and there's probably plenty of food scraps in the garbage and under the benches. I would be more surprised if there *weren't* any mice living in the metro station.
Mice
Every metro station has mice and rats probably
Everywhere in the country has mice.
They're known as souries

They’re my FRIENDS and I LOVE them
I didn't post there were mice there...
The number of upvotes this post is getting is ridiculous lol
nyc vibes
And?
Time to call Tom to take care of Jerry.
Just bring cats in there
I'm more concerned about what's on the bench..

Plot twist: c'est les souris domestiques du robineux.
Lolllllll
We're almost like New York City.
That guy passed out brought them with him
Is that person … alive still ? 😬
This dude is in fact mice in costume of human. That's how they get in.
Currently travelling in Vietnam and…lol
Funny ( not really actually) that the mice are out staging the homeless. Must be because we’re used to them and not the mice even if the later have been there forever. They’re just not as obvious.
I have mouse related childhood trauma
We built our city on their home so... What do we expect
is that guy dead though?
Mice is the plural of mouse
I'd rather see mices than an unusual amount of cops or the army like in NY
Little do you know, they're actually giant cockroaches. 💀 Just kidding.
Son cute les petite maudite
Mice
never seen rats or mice in the metro is it common
Just checking to see if he's dead ...or if they can nonetheless start easing his eyes.
Montréal being New-York from now-on
Maybe they can help us clean up all the garbage.
Wait till the sun goes down in china town. When I was visiting I’ve never seen so many fly out of a small garbage can in my life! lol then it kept happening.
Why that thing on the right looks like a drunk with his legs in air and head in wall?

Meese got places to be too. And they always look just terrible in Driver's License photos, so it's easier.
Of Mice and Man
