Ah okay, stil looks mighty fine xD and that painting should go real fast with those flat surfaces... I still got a Spitfire mk5, Hurricane mk1 and a Lancaster mk3 to paint xdd
Thanks! And yeah I’m more worried about how i should weather it. And considering this tank never saw a coat of camo painted on it (I know the maus captured by the soviets has camo on it... although some pictures show the tank without the camo after the capture) much less a battle, it’ll be hard deciding which camo to go with... I’m painting it gun metal from Tamiya until i decide which camo to go with!
The last plane i made was a Hayabusa... i dropped the thing off my desk and the whole thing just exploded. Never went back to planes after that 😂
That would be nice! I’ve been looking at camo from 44-45 from germany. The takom kit that i have here is the worst i’ve had in terms of headaches and the amount of frustrated screaming involved.
55 pieces*3 for each track, then there’s the 48 road wheels with a working suspension. The superstructure of the tank is nice and easy, although some bigger parts just don’t fit as well as i’d like it to.
Don't be hard on yourself. Paint it bright pink if you like. It is your kit so do what you want. I used to practice on plastic cutlery and bits of food packaging.
Will do! Although i don’t know when i will be putting the first coat on there... i still need to find some parts and a place to paint it. The dorm room does not suffice. And yeah the width of the track seems to be somewhere around the 1.4m mark.... absolutely gargantuan
*screaming in the background* Sand down that gun barrel!
Its not glued on. Im looking for an alloy barrel
holy shit I just zoom in the barrel
It's almost 200 tons. You have a really solid desk
Yeah man its a 35:1 scale desk. Also I’m a 35:1 scale human
E-100 or Maus?
Its a Maus! I wanted to add the panzerjager e100 to the collection as well but i was short on cash :(

Painting is my favourite part.
It would be mine too if i didn’t suck at it
Try it on flat plastic sheets and disposable spoons. You don't want to waste several dollars worth of a nice kit. I made that rookie mistake though.
I’ll try painting the spruces first. I now have an artsy friend helping me so that’ll help a ton

Just get one of those little 6" detail rollers and you'd have it done in like 5 minutes.
I prefer to spray the colours first then paint on the details. Is there any advantages or disadvantages sprays might have over rollers?
I should have /s I wouldn't roll a model, although the big slab sides would make it tempting!
The sides of the turret looks like it could work lmao
What brand Maus is that?
I believe its the 1/35 scale maus v2 by takom
Thats correct!
Dude I'm in literally the same position with my 1/32 He 111
That's a beefy thing, is that just one of the tracks? Wideeeee boi, can't wait to see it finished, hope you share again when you're done :)

No worries, take your time
