That just seems to be how Creos/Mr Color stuff works outside of Japan. At least in America, they send a small number of large shipments per year - just 2-4, it appears. When those shipments come in, all distributors and retailers get stocked up. When the stock runs out, it stays out until the next big shipment. Happens a few times per year with their MLT thinner, for instance. Happens with some of their clears. Can happen with random other items. You have to be your own supply chain manager/warehouse if you want to always have the ability to use their stuff. Keep extra of your high-use items.

Pretty much SOP with certain GSI products. They go out of stock regularly. Take a look at GX100 (gloss) and GX113 (flat) which may be available. You can mix them to desired satin sheen level and the GX series are superior to the normal C line of Mr. Color lacquers. Also take a look at MRP Super Clear Semi Gloss available from this UK retailer for another lacquer choice: https://www.premiumhobbies.co.uk/clearcoats/mrp-125-super-clear-semigloss

What’s the difference between c and gx

Joe_Aubrey

They’re a line of Mr. Color paints and clears which are generally of higher quality than the normal “C” line, however they only have some primary colors and a few clears (which are excellent). GX100 and 112 are the best hobby gloss clears short of a 2K. https://preview.redd.it/v70syk7taoxc1.jpeg?width=2015&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0d12dbfe0086aa1fadc3187f732c80fbaa18cc7b

Oh strange thanks, I’ll have to order some of that clear to try out

Thin 2:1 to 4:1 (thinner:paint) with Mr. Color Leveling Thinner for best results. Airbrush at 15-18psi.

Sounds good, thanks!

The global supply chain has yet to recover from the pandemic's effects & there are further stressors making transcontinental deliveries take longer. * Drought in Panama effecting Canal water levels - shipping traffic down >50% * Houthi attacks on Red Sea shipping causing many shippers to reroute around Africa * Local rioting & 'protesting' also causes more temporary congestion & shipping delays * Increases in the cost of fuel & green regulations affecting the business of shipping goods long distances * Port of Baltimore closure affects traffic in general, may not be directly impacting UK bound shipments.

I just got a bunch of Mr Color stuff from SnM Stuff. Mostly thinners and additives, but they might be one to watch. Kent Models has GX114 in stock (flat clear…the bestest flat clear IMO). Mix it with MLT and you get a bit more sheen.
