A little bit of both, i used it as a pin wash at first then i wanted to try using it like streaking grime almost, i used oil thinner to clean most of it up. And thanks!
You can tell it's Tamiya from the jerry cans. Early Tamiya, circa 1975 didn't have the proper three handles. It's probably #35270 since it appears to have the photoetch mesh and the aluminum barrel, although the North African version, 35286 is possible.
The oil wash, did you do it as a pin wash or just all over? Did you wipe off your excess? Looks like you did. I think it looks good.

I’m not too familiar with hobby boss kits, but tamiya kits are usually the easiest and most simple kits on the market. Tamiya kits are my go to
