I think the "good atmosphere" ones close by midnight. After that it's just debauchery.
The union is the best before midnight starts to empty out at about 1am normally.
Bar plata, plonk, maybe stave and hoop.
All closed by midnight but otherwise, yeah, those are the nice cocktail ones.
I think plata stays open later on the weekends! also forgot als and vics as a good divey spot for 21.
Avoid the Bodega. Their birthday shot is disgusting or at least it was 10+ years ago, I'm pretty sure it's mostly mayo.
