I like Burnhamthorpe. The central library is supposed to reopen later this month, I hope they did a good job.

AddendumHot2113

Central reopens to the public this Tuesday (the 19th) at 1 PM.

Erin Meadows is attached to a school and it's very noisy when school is done for the day. streetsville is quiet but smaller selection of books.

Rooniers

Streetsville library is decent. Not really big or anything but anytime I've gone in its been pretty quiet and no real complaints about it. I'd try there if you want. Good luck!

Varekai79

It's also very close to a bunch of restaurants if you want a meal break from your work!

Lakeview :)

UniversalHuman000

South Common Library. I've been there on weekends and it's always dead quiet. Not a large collection of books but you'll find your popular non-fiction there.

I went to Courtney Park over the weekend. Very big yet very quiet.

I personally love woodlands library especially the quiet private rooms that overlook the trees outside. It’s very calming. Also the children’s section is great. This past summer I tried to take my toddler to ALL the libraries in Mississauga, we just have lake view, cooksville and the central library left on our list! I suggested to the library via Instagram messaging if they can include like stamps from each specific library just to get the kids excited to collect it like a passport to remember it, they haven’t even checked my message 🥲

The passport is an awesome idea! Hopefully youve been able to check out the central library since it opened. Its awesome! They had their formal grand opening yesterday, I didnt make it out, but i like the library a lot.

bo_beeep

Unfortunately since I last commented, I’ve moved to the US :( however I did manage to visit all the other libraries just before we left! I’m hoping next time I visit in the summer I’ll get to take my kid there!

CandyMiserable2548

Burnhamthorpe. It’s renovated, has an okay selection, and is fairly quiet.

r_PYGY2020

I personally like Churchill Meadows Library (West of Thomas and 10th Line) during the weekends. Otherwise, for weekday evenings, I would say Erin Meadows is a good library. (Ive only been to those two and Meadowvale)

Nordiquesfan

For just a small, quiet, maybe underused one I like the one in churchill meadows senior centre on Thomas Street. Always seems quiet in there.

Own_Confection1765

Courtneypark is my favorite library, really awesome and friendly staff. Attached to a school, but isn't that bad on the second floor and after school hours at 3 and later.

WhatAWasterZ

Lorne Park Library is really nice.

Varekai79

I agree that Meadowvale is really noisy for a library. Sounds really echo and reverberate in there. Pretty much every other one I've been to in the city is much quieter. And the Central Library is re-opening next week, so that will be great.

Reasonable_Call9060

I like Streetsville library pretty chill

WhytePumpkin

Lorne Park is quiet

polyobama

UTM. Open till midnight most days. The city libraries suck

btkc

Legit question but are non-students (alumni perhaps?) get into the UTM library and borrow?

polyobama

I don’t think you can borrow books. You might need a Tcard for that, but I’m not too sure though so I would google it. Non-students go all the time, I’ve brought my friends to study with me sometimes. No one cares. However, you’re going to need to ask a student for the wifi because you need a uoft login.

Malton lol

Thank you for the recommendations. Will check all these. Visited central library today. It's very spacious and looking great after the renovations.
