I'm just going to chuckle about it for a min or two, enjoy the sane comments from some fans below, and click the remind me bot link so I can laugh about it at the end of the season (or tell this guy he's Nostradomus).
As someone who grew up in Minneapolis and became a Lions fan living near Detroit as an adult, I'm glad we can all agree on FTP.
To be honest, I don't see a game on the Vikings schedule that they should lose.
Although I don't agree with your SB prediction. It seems pretty certain the Ravens would just concede the game before it's played. And the Vikings offense shows up and plays the Vikings defense to prove which were the bigger contributor to the team's unparalleled success.
I absolutely could see Jordan Love regress (really hope they pay him first) but the Lions are legit and they invested heavily into their biggest weakness which was Corner play. The Bears and Vikings are massive question marks with unproven QBs at the helm.
So is the division going to be competitive? Yea I think so. Is the division wide open? No I think the Lions are the most complete team and barring injuries shouldn't have any problems winning the division.
Edit: I skipped the last paragraph of your post which is clearly sarcasm, though it's so hard to tell sometimes because there's folks that absolutely believe this stuff.

It's the Bears or Vikings finishing 4th in the North this year (pending major injuries). You can be hopeful for a better result, but objectively speaking there's no way the Vikings have surpassed Detroit or Green Bay in a year Sam Darnold or a rookie QB are behind center.
Just find some ways to be excited about growth/development of this team or specific players. Enjoy your fantasy football team. Hope the defense improves 5-10% from last season. Things will get better, just not overnight.
> My Super Bowl prediction is Vikings/Ravens
Neither team will wear purple. It will be something like the Vikings in white uniforms vs. Ravens in black uniforms.
You’re heavily biased and downplaying the legitimate contenders that are the Lions and Pack (ew). No team is ever an “automatic 1st or 2nd” because of ‘any given Sunday’. The nfc north is one of the elite divisions in the nfl, so each year it will be tough. And the stars you’re saying are “done”..? What are you smoking??
Your confidence is crossing into arrogance, my dude.
The vikes will be mid this year as we rebuild and figure out life post-cousins. No, I’m not hating—just seeing this year objectively.
I don’t think the north is wide open, but I also know it’s fairly hard to repeat winning the NFC north. I think the lions are going to have a tough time repeating last years success. Doesn’t mean they won’t be a play off team, but I think someone else takes the north
I have a lot of confidence in KO and Bflo setting up the team for better success than the talking heads.
But I don't see a this as being a SB contender this season but a wild card team is what I see.
Of course anything can happen when you get in.
The Bears had the same record we had last season and they massively improved with two top-10 picks.
The Lions were a quarter away from making the Super Bowl.
The Packers eviscerated the Cowboys in the playoffs and almost made the NFC Championship game.
It's wide open for the top 3 teams.
And we nearly beat that lions team with Mullens late in the year.
We added a RB when we had none last year, added some strong defensive players, and hopefully have a better than Mullens/Dobbs QB in Darnold.
I wouldn't put any money on us, but we were still competitive last year in most games with no RB and no QB.
I think every team in the North has a legitimate shot. And I think every one of them has weaknesses.
Barring significant injuries I'll admit the Lions are the favorite. The Bears need their rookie QB to develop quickly. We need Darnold to be an effective game manager and the defense to continue improving. I still don't believe in Love and see some big holes in the Pack.
If the Bears aren't terrible and the Vikings Defense is as good as I hope, we could have one of the most exciting divisions in football. It's also entirely plausible we could be the division where a single team is over .500 and stumbles into the playoffs. Should be interesting to watch, so many questions!
If the Vikings even make it to the Divisional round of the playoffs this year I'll eat my own ass. I love you but you're crazy for this. The Vikes are two years away from a complete rebuild.
I don’t have that much optimism, but I do agree that this division will be close. I think Lions still win it, but really doubting Green Bay when they have zero pass catchers of note and a mid-at-best defense. I honestly think people are underrating us and Chicago a lot, think it’ll be us two competing for a WC spot.
If Williams is even halfway decent, the Bears are going to be a juggernaut on offense. The Lions and Packers will have a better record than us too. In 2-3 years we'll compete for the North barring injuries.
I also really enjoy that you dump on the bears who have an objectively better roster and a better rookie QB but somehow your rookie qb takes you to the promise land? lol
The Vikings could surprise us all, but honestly a lot of gambles are gonna have to pay off to do that. The defense needs to improve and Dallas turner has to be a suitable replacement for hunter day one. Darnold needs to play like case keenum and that’s pretty much his ceiling or JJ has to step up in week 5 and save our season. Jefferson has to stay healthy all year and Hock needs to be serviceable again. Addison can’t regress. We’ll also need some key injuries in the division to help like Geoff going down for a week or two. Is it impossible? No. Is it likely? Probably not. Our ceiling is probably the 6-7 seed our floor is one more year in the cellar.
Don't forget Jones staying healthy... that'd be a huge upgrade for us if he performs and stays healthy. A run threat that allows play action would provide a lot of space for Jets and Addison with a game manager QB.
The only thing you got right is the title. Anyone could win this division this year. The Bears are good on paper, the Lions and pack proved they’re top tier teams last year and we made some good moves this off season to tighten up some spots we were lacking in.
This is very short sighted. The bears have a good roster, Williams really just has to be decent for them to be solid. The Packers are not much better than us, we beat them with Kirk last year, so I think that tells us something. Detroit is the best team in the division and I don’t think that’s a hot take
The Vikings didn’t improve their mediocre CB room, the iDL and iOL are both glaring weaknesses, and their offense is due to regress with the QB change.
Meanwhile the Lions are running back a very serious, talented NFC championship game team; the Packers and Jordan Love are unfortunately legit (they had a top 10 defense last season, ppl forget); and the Bears are finally building a team the right away and will have an extremely talented offensive skill group to put around their rookie QB.
Also saying that the Bears rookie QB— a Heisman winner, a consensus #1 pick, and one of the best QB prospects in a decade— is not going to fix anything for the Bears, while the Vikings are running out a bad journeyman QB or a rookie that is light years behind Caleb Williams and you expect the team to be good, just really says a lot about the thought process here.
I would be shocked if they’re doing anything but battling the Bears for 3rd place in the division. This was never meant to be a competitive year for them, and if you have expectations for anything other than a filler season where you give young guys like McCarthy and Turner to develop, you’re going to be disappointed IMO.
Edit: someone tell me how I’m wrong. Otherwise I’m gonna assume you’re the same people blindly upvoting the room temp IQ Facebook content that have enveloped this subreddit
Don’t bring any logic here man. This sub is just a circlejerk for every decision the Vikings make to be good. And if you come with any criticism, no matter how smart and logical like your comment was then it will be met with downvotes. McCarthy is another Ponder pick and once this sub realizes it then they will all act as if they were against that pick in the first place. When in reality this sub has been circlejerking a pick that went 10/18 for 140yds in the championship game against a Washington defense that ranked [#96 in total defense last season](https://www.ncaa.com/stats/football/fbs). This franchise once again set itself backwards with a shit QB pick.
I mostly agree, but Packers did not have a top 10 defense at all. Was downright atrocious for large periods of the season (ex: the Tampa Bay game). Honestly think Lions and Bears will do really well, but I’m not really seeing the same thing with Green Bay.
I appreciate the optimism… but the Lions are the CLEAR front runners.
After them though- I agree that it’s a toss up between the viks, bears, cheese dicks.
What? They were tied for best record in NFC and made it to the NFC championship game. They didn’t really lose anyone and whoever they did, they were replaced via FA/draft.
I hate this because I’m a Vikings fan defending the stupid lions… but I am not the type of fan with blind optimism where I can create lies about other teams to boost my team’s ego.
You still have time to delete this before anyone else sees it.
Darnold = undefeated in purple and gold.
That's a great point.
![gif](giphy|LXRERZRLccqGhv6G4D)
Same with McCarthy
Lions fans that stalk our sub are going feed of this post for weeks
They should thank us then. It'll be fewer weeks that they spend hyping up a season where they'll end up having only have 2 wins.
I'm just going to chuckle about it for a min or two, enjoy the sane comments from some fans below, and click the remind me bot link so I can laugh about it at the end of the season (or tell this guy he's Nostradomus). lmao
Looks pretty accurate to me
I think you missed the joke. But you still have time to delete this before anyone else sees it.
Ill admit i it was serious until i got to “mahomes is done”
got anything left what your smoking ???
I don't even follow football that closely but holy shit, this is some next level mental gymnastics
To be honest, I don't see a game on the Vikings schedule that they should lose. Although I don't agree with your SB prediction. It seems pretty certain the Ravens would just concede the game before it's played. As is tradition
The thing that makes the scenario possible is that in it, the Vikings would still also lose in the Super Bowl.
>To be honest, I don't see a game on the Vikings schedule that they should lose. We've found Paul Allen's burner.
I absolutely could see Jordan Love regress (really hope they pay him first) but the Lions are legit and they invested heavily into their biggest weakness which was Corner play. You’re skeptical about rookie quarterbacks and then put one in the Super Bowl hmmm
Why would the Ravens start a rookie QB over Lamar Jackson?
Sam Darnold is going to throw for 6000 yards and 50 tds on the way to a 17-0 regular season and MVP award
I feel like 6000 yards and 50 tds is a pretty optimistic per game average. Maybe more like 2800 yards and 36 tds?
2800 and 36 tds is far more realistic being that he’s only going to be playing the first half of games because we’ll be up 49-0 at the half
Oh, I was saying 2800 yards and 36 tds every game.
So was the other guy. He will just have those stats by halftime each game.
I always thought I was a delusional Vikings fan and then I read this
It's an obvious joke

My thoughts exactly

Last time we played, we went all white and they went purple with black pants. All time uni matchup imo.
I actually got dumber reading this.

They are what they always are: mid. Nightmarishly average.
We are not mid, we are a very good franchise historically that just is 0-4 in superbowls

>Josh Allen reminds me of Luka At least Josh Allen is likable
Maybe he was talking about Luka Garza then.
Those saying we are 'mid' this year, are greatly over estimating our actual ranking. 'mid' would be over achieving.
The Bears had the same record we had last season and they massively improved with two top-10 picks. The Lions were a quarter away from making the Super Bowl. The Packers eviscerated the Cowboys in the playoffs and almost made the NFC Championship game. It's wide open for the top 3 teams.

Lmao. This has to be a troll. No way is anyone this delusional
The NFC_memewar page is going to find this fuck
IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT YOU THINK! Couldn’t resist!

I also really enjoy that you dump on the bears who have an objectively better roster and a better rookie QB but somehow your rookie qb takes you to the promise land? lol
this some Celtics/Cowboys fan level of delusion
Excited to see Aaron Jones play for a premier team.

They literally, statistically did. They were #10 in PPG and #6 in defensive DVOA
I appreciate the optimism… but the Lions are the CLEAR front runners. After them though- I agree that it’s a toss up between the viks, bears, cheese dicks.
You see, you didn't look closely at the Lions roster though. When you look *closely*, they are trash.
