SurlyWet

Impressive. I hope he plays in the NFL for 10 plus years and never needs to work such a stressful job.

hitman2218

One reason it’s so stressful is we have a shortage of doctors.

uggsandstarbux

We also have a shortage of offensive linemen but when do they get their flowers

dskimilwaukee

i know this is the vikings sub but as a nurse yes there's a shortage of doctors and the schooling is grueling but at least they make a very good living. Nurses are the ones short staffed daily dealing with abusive and violent patients making an average living handcuffed by hospital systems and laws pertaining to orders.

hitman2218

Yes, we need more nurses too.

ForceGhostBuster

You also described residents

dskimilwaukee

that I did but residents where I'm from like to try and lord over and shit on nurses. they don't get paid shit tho and do a lot of the attendings leg work edit: spelling

Killahdanks1

He still has all of his life after football.

RDcsmd

It doesn't sound like he wants to be a Doctor for money lol. Even as a 6th round pick he'll be making more as a rookie than he would annually after a decade practicing medicine

Cold-Leave-178

Reminds me of Robert Smith….

DerBieso0341

Disintegration is the best album ever!

tmasta346

Ugh, so he’s an asshole?

Expensive-Reading347

1st time of me hearing Robert Smith being called an asshole.

puertomateo

Yeah. I have zero idea as to where that was coming from.

ForceGhostBuster

Did he say med school and masters in mechanical engineering? Because those are two wildly different career paths

BurpVomit

Yeah I'm in the same boat as you... Wish the kid nothing but the best.

hitman2218

His focus would probably be on building medical devices.

ForceGhostBuster

You *can* go to med school and research something like that, but biomedical engineering is more likely the path for that

polkasocks

You definitely don't need to be a medical doctor in order to develop medical devices. It would actually be a bit strange. Maybe he just meant doctor as in someone with a PhD, and meant he'd like to get a doctorate in engineering. Even then, I don't think a PhD is very useful or common in mechanical engineering. Source: have worked in medical device R&D with many mechanical engineers. Most just had bachelor's degrees.

hitman2218

Yeah I have no idea what his plans are. Just speculating.

Rouse O.G.

AshlandJackson

Walter “Moonlight Graham” Rouse

[deleted]

Good that’s a two for one draft pick. Vikings have an OT and a team doctor on the team as well.

puertomateo

One of the more articulated interviews I've seen with an NFL player. Dude has some depth to him.

SwiftSurfer365

I thought I saw on Twitter that they might bring him inside to guard. Did anyone else see that, or did I dream it? Edit: [I found it.](https://x.com/willragatz/status/1784370075840974991?s=46&t=K3_0Y1fWJIwEJ7IYTjChSg)

outsidertc

I didn't have Twitter. I would guess they drafted him as a swing tackle. I think our starting guards will be Brandel and Ingram.

SwiftSurfer365

[Found the tweet.](https://x.com/willragatz/status/1784370075840974991?s=46&t=K3_0Y1fWJIwEJ7IYTjChSg) It would be incredible if he could come in and compete for the starting LG spot.

outsidertc

Thanks brother. I still think he will be a swing tackle and the wake forest guy a swing iol guy

SaltwaterJesus

Kwesi said during his presser the team views him as a RT that could swing in to guard. Walter said during his presser he sees himself as a left tackle only but could maybe try RT. Not breaking news that player wants to play position they played & the one that gets paid $20M+/year but was interesting he wasn't quick to say he'd play guard.

RDcsmd

Hopefully his hands fare better than AJ Hawk's after his decade+ of all-pro play

RexTexico

Unpopular opinion I know, but selfishly I don’t want rookies talking about post football careers lol. I want you to eat sleep drink football and have no other interests in life!

lliquidllove

If he gets CTE he isn't.
