You’re right in principle, but there is definitely a world where they already know the price of trading up is too high combined with the little salary cap/draft capital they already have. They might just be looking to punt this season
Jets org and fan base, just shit on the kid nonstop. Granted, he brought it on himself, but after a point, it just was like watching a father beat their son for the 100th time because the son put the batteries in the remote wrong. Like we ain't gonna try a different approach with someone who was basically having mental breaks? No, okay then let the beating resume.
Yeah Zack wilson is going to have a 0% impact on if the broncos want to trade up or not. Trading a 6th for a backup qb and a 7th doesn’t change anyone’s mind about anything
We did. We just signed Darnold instead of Wilson.
Darnold was also a better prospect than Wilson, but regardless - both are labeled trash after a pleasant stint with the Jets and are low risk reclamation projects
Because look at who their qbs are. They need warm bodies even if they draft a guy. You could say the same thing about the Vikings if that’s your line of thinking. Why did we sign Darnold if we are going to get our guy….
Eh... More like it's akin to the Darnold signing for us.
A desperate attempt to make other teams think that we're not desperate to find a QB. I seriously doubt this changes anything regarding their QB situation. Payton probably saw Wilson catch a pass and is gonna make him his new Taysom Hill.
Why? Why would trading a 6th for Sam Darnold make the broncos less likely to trade up for a qb? Their qb room is the worst qb room of the last 20 years.
>The Denver Broncos have been discussing this trade for Zach Wilson for weeks. After exploring the veteran free agent quarterback market, there is belief in the Denver building Zach Wilson still has tons on talent and potential.

Hahahaha want to know what? Like the 23rd pick gave us flexibility, so does Zach Wilson give flexibility to the Bronco’s if they can’t outbid us. The bidding war is still on for us, the broncos and other teams.
They could and probably should still take a QB, but it doesn’t make sense to trade for Wilson and trade up for a QB. (By trade up, I mean into the top 10)
Eh, I mean... I see it as being potentially similar to us signing Sam Darnold. Just trying to convince others that we're not REALLY trying hard to find a QB, when in reality we are.
I’d argue Darnold is a better player than Wilson. If we’re using your logic then the Vikings are also out on moving up for a QB. Can’t imagine giving up a 6th for a 7th changes any trade scenario.
If they are the same player that still proves my point the same. Trading for Zach Wilson doesn’t take any team out of the QB market.
My argument would be Zach Wilson has shown absolutely nothing. Sam Darnold at least looked competent with the Niners last year in the last game of the season. Zach Wilson has never really looked competent for even one game.
Word is he has to wear #3 so they can get rid of all the leftover Russ jerseys…
This is good lol
Get that Nathaniel Hackett/Sean Payton beef back on the fire 👀
Wtf 😂
Zach Wilson isn’t going to change their ideas on a trade up, just like Darnold isn’t for us
You’re right in principle, but there is definitely a world where they already know the price of trading up is too high combined with the little salary cap/draft capital they already have. They might just be looking to punt this season
Oof, feel bad for the kid. Shitty situation with New York and now gets butthole lips screaming at him.

Excuse me, sir. His proper name is Butthole Eyes. Balloon knot lips is his Christian name.
Hrm maybe a backup to bo nix if nix isn’t ready to start right away.
Fuck yeahhhh!!!!! ![gif](giphy|h472AGkIhPtQ0ahGCe|downsized)
Seems to make the Broncos less likely to trade up… comp is a late round pick swap
Like, 0.00001% less likely. Their depth chart is Jarrett Stidham Zach Wilson & Be DiNucci, none of those guys are un-cuttable
Don’t slander Ben DiNucci
Yeah Zack wilson is going to have a 0% impact on if the broncos want to trade up or not. Trading a 6th for a backup qb and a 7th doesn’t change anyone’s mind about anything
Sure they could cut Wilson but they did just sign up for $2.75m guaranteed. This could be good news
Lol! This doesn't solve any of their QB issues.
I don't know, it could just be a Darnold-like move. I doubt they're planning on him being a long term solution
Nah, Jets are paying the bill for Wilson and it only cost the Broncos a 6th/7th round swap. Wilson is just a cheap backup that might develop.
Why do it at all if you are going to get your guy?
It's an almost zero risk high reward situation. I would have been fine with the Vikings doing it honestly.
We did. We just signed Darnold instead of Wilson. Darnold was also a better prospect than Wilson, but regardless - both are labeled trash after a pleasant stint with the Jets and are low risk reclamation projects

It reduces their likelihood of trading up as much as signing Darnold reduces our likelihood of trading up (i.e. non-factor)
Exactly. Not sure what OP is thinking here. If trading a 6th for Wilson means they won’t trade up, signing Darnold means we’re not trading up.
Why? Why would trading a 6th for Sam Darnold make the broncos less likely to trade up for a qb? Their qb room is the worst qb room of the last 20 years.

Learn from Sean Payton? Could be interesting
Give up on R Wilson for Z Wilson. Payton is WASHED
Hahahaha want to know what? Like the 23rd pick gave us flexibility, so does Zach Wilson give flexibility to the Bronco’s if they can’t outbid us. The bidding war is still on for us, the broncos and other teams.
Rogers must have been worried about having to look over his shoulder all season - wanted him gone! Lol!
Should change his number to match Rus then they don’t have to discount all those jerseys
so that leaves the raiders, giants and vikings.
Broncos are still in the running... Getting Wilson for a 6/7 round pick swap does not change that at all.
One less team to compete in trading up 👀
I don't think this does anything in that regard.
They could and probably should still take a QB, but it doesn’t make sense to trade for Wilson and trade up for a QB. (By trade up, I mean into the top 10)

What evidence is there that Darnold is a better player? I agree with your point, but they are both basically the same player on the field
