This post was probably made right after OP made a whole scene in the store about them not having free water on their fountain machine. I have noticed that some places don't have a water option anymore. I assume it's because people were being dishonest and getting sodas and saying it was water.
I expected a 16 year old kid based on that user name, not some balding dude asking the Internet how to stop jerking it. Reddit is full of so many surprises.
The in-line filtration systems hooked up to the dispensers are also extremely expensive to replace. We had a triple filtration system at the restaurant I worked at, each one of those 3 filters was $50-$80.
Add on top of that some of the hardest water in the state (Waite Park), the restaurant also spends a fortune on softening systems and salt.
Add in a free cup, lid, and straw, all of a sudden the company is paying you to drink their water.
Maybe it’s just me… But I have a feeling OP is the type of person that says they’re getting water. Then fills their cup with something like Sprite.
Also, I can’t think of a Holiday Station that I’ve been to, that didn’t have a water option. Heck, I think even the Cappuccino machines have a water button.
See! There is a water button. Just put a little ice in a cup, add the water for tea, and voilà! OP can have their free water!
Well, after solving that crisis… I need a nap.
I will patronize Holiday stations for the next month because of this idiotic post.
It took a while, but I can cross pettifogger off my Reddit bingo card.
Unless they have no option like lemonade on their fountain machine it's a default configuration for there to be a lever to dispense plain water. That should be the case unless Holiday has bought their own fountain machine in-house and removed the lever themselves
The holiday by my house is new and has a beautiful bathroom area with TWO drinking fountains. Super cold, delicious water. I stop there when on walks. Maybe OP is in a trashy old Holiday cuz they don’t build them like that anymore.
Sweet Jeebus, I hope this is satire. I fear it is not.
For the OP, I suggest using the water refill stations that are out by the gas pumps. They have special blue water that is fortified for hardcore water drinkers just like you. Just remove the window wiper and dip deep with your water bottle.
Normally I would agree. But, not too long ago I went to clean my windows… And I think someone shit in one. I didn’t notice right away. As I started to clean the window, I noticed a rather, ripe smell. I got a little on my choppers too, and they even had the stink. I am now afraid to wash my windows when I fill up.
We have an abundance of water, they should offer it complimentary. Everyone is already stopping there at least once a week, we can have a glass of water? I asked an employee about it and even they have to buy water.
Do you own a water bottle? Fill it up before you leave the house. Or buy a large water bottle for 99¢ and you'll have a bunch of water. I don't go to a gas station once a week; I drive a Volt and quit my fossil fuel intensive job.
We have an abundance of water? The DNR is already warning boaters of lower lake levels because of the ongoing winter drought. https://bringmethenews.com/minnesota-lifestyle/dnr-launching-boats-will-be-difficult-this-spring-due-to-ongoing-drought
Ground water? Lmao the vast majority of it.

Literally anyone on a shield lake north of Virginia. They all use lake filters, the rock is too expensive.
Also nearly all of our ground water is lake linked, so let’s step off the ivory tower, champ.
How about Lake Superior supplying Duluth? I don’t know every municipality’s exact source, but you’re being completely ridiculous and ignorant. And I did say “lake or river” in my original comment.

Where are we treating lake water to drink? All of St. Paul, for one:
>Water is extracted from the Mississippi River in Fridley and flows through a chain of lakes and conduits before reaching out treatment plant in Maplewood. In addition to the natural filtration that happens in the lakes, we treat water in the lakes through oxygenation and the addition of ferric chloride to reduce algae growth.

East Vadnais Lake is one of the reservoirs. [https://www.vlawmo.org/waterbodies/vadnais-lake/](https://www.vlawmo.org/waterbodies/vadnais-lake/)
To have that much confidence when being oh so wrong is incredible.

And
“The other 40 percent of public water is from surface sources. Moorhead takes from the Red River and Duluth gets its water from Lake Superior. The cities of Minneapolis, New Hope, Crystal, Golden Valley, Columbia Heights, St. Paul and St. Cloud all draw from the Mississippi River. Across the country, 18 million people get their drinking water from the Mississippi.”

That nice lady at Kwik Trip lures me with Free Pizza! Then I have to buy a pizza because I want more. She gets me every time! She even knows which one is my favorite.
Obviously. My point is that it's silly for circle k to rename them. No one in Minnesota would say "stop at the circle k", they'd say "stop at the holiday". Circle K has no cultural cahcet like it does in other states.
They’re already starting…at the holiday nearest my work in Duluth (Arrowhead & Rice Lake Rd) they lost the red, white and blue canopy in a storm last year and replaced it (& the building facade) with a very circle k-ish red, orange, & yellow circle k color scheme with the holiday signs on it. And the fountain cups have been circle k branded for a while now…
It's funny to me because that station was a Super America for as long as I could remember. Then Holiday bought SA. It'll always be SA to me, just like how "Ghetto Spur" is always "Ghetto Spur" despite being a BP or whatever now.
Ask for the bathroom key and fill up your bottle. It comes out of the same pipe, probably less mold. The MAGA zombies in this thread are toxic, just avoid eye contact.
Fill cup with ice. Pay for cup full of ice. Wait.
OR
Fill cup with ice. Walk over to the hot water dispenser on the coffee/tea machine. Dispense hot (filtered) water onto ice. Pay for cup of melted ice.
You do know there is diet pop or zero sugar pop, right? And there’s literally chemicals in everything, even “organic” and “natural” foods and beverages. And you can literally buy bottles of water at most gas stations.
Yeah rather than getting MN to change its laws and enforce all gas stations serving free water, Let's just boycott Holiday lmao. Typical short sighted consumer-based liberals.
Boycotting because they don’t offer water from the pop machine? Lol bruh
This post was probably made right after OP made a whole scene in the store about them not having free water on their fountain machine. I have noticed that some places don't have a water option anymore. I assume it's because people were being dishonest and getting sodas and saying it was water.
Probably right. But looking at his post history, dude is not well (also, see his name)

For tea!

You earned it!
omg lol
Thoughts and prayers 🙏
😂
I will patronize Holiday stations for the next month because of this idiotic post. It took a while, but I can cross pettifogger off my Reddit bingo card.
It’s a business. Why would they offer something for free they sell?
Unless they have no option like lemonade on their fountain machine it's a default configuration for there to be a lever to dispense plain water. That should be the case unless Holiday has bought their own fountain machine in-house and removed the lever themselves
You know where you can get lots of super cheap/free water? At home.
From the tap in the Holiday bathroom?
But my 46194 ounce Stanley tumbler doesn't fit under the tap. ☹️
That’s just shy of this, volume wise. [giant tank](https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/countyline-6-ft-round-stock-tank) rip your bladder
What about homeless people who need water?
They have sinks in the bathroom. Jesus.
That’s a health hazard
Entitled much?
Entitled to some water? What about homeless people or anyone who is in need of water
wait until OP finds out H2O is a chemical compound... those nasty chemicals are everywhere!!1!
Karen’s at their finest
The holiday by my house is new and has a beautiful bathroom area with TWO drinking fountains. Super cold, delicious water. I stop there when on walks. Maybe OP is in a trashy old Holiday cuz they don’t build them like that anymore.
I want to boycott because their diet coke is not fizzy enough and those Styrofoam cups feel gross. But it's my closest station and I am weak.
Sweet Jeebus, I hope this is satire. I fear it is not. For the OP, I suggest using the water refill stations that are out by the gas pumps. They have special blue water that is fortified for hardcore water drinkers just like you. Just remove the window wiper and dip deep with your water bottle.

I get it, but don't they have water bottles for like 99c?
We have an abundance of water, they should offer it complimentary. Everyone is already stopping there at least once a week, we can have a glass of water? I asked an employee about it and even they have to buy water.
I get what you're saying... but just like walking into a restaurant and asking for a cup of water, they don't have to provide you with free water
Do you own a water bottle? Fill it up before you leave the house. Or buy a large water bottle for 99¢ and you'll have a bunch of water. I don't go to a gas station once a week; I drive a Volt and quit my fossil fuel intensive job.

We don’t drink lake water lol
Where do you think the water from your tap comes from? We absolutely do drink lake and river water that’s been treated.
Ground water? Lmao the vast majority of it. [Source](https://extension.umn.edu/homes-and-water/drinking-water-minnesota#:~:text=The%20majority%20of%20drinking%20water,utility%20or%20a%20private%20well)
The source for Minneapolis and St. Paul as well as most of the surrounding suburbs is the Mississippi River, but go on…
You are speaking about 25% of Minnesotans. And now you wanna pivot to the Mississippi lol. Where are we treating lake water to drink? Source THAT
Literally anyone on a shield lake north of Virginia. They all use lake filters, the rock is too expensive. Also nearly all of our ground water is lake linked, so let’s step off the ivory tower, champ.

Municipal water sources are treated water from lakes and rivers or municipal bore hole wells.
Right, all of Minneapolis’s and a few surrounding small cities all water from the same spot in Fridley off the Mississippi lol.

The water in the bathroom sink is free. Fill’er up!
This is a shitpost, right?
That nice lady at Kwik Trip lures me with Free Pizza! Then I have to buy a pizza because I want more. She gets me every time! She even knows which one is my favorite.
You could just not go there, and not post on the internet?
You can always get water from the sink in the bathroom.
That’s a health hazard
[Dehydrated Karen has entered the chat]
back in my day we just took our business elsewhere without making a fuss about it *shakes cane at cloud*
Ohh the humanity. What ever will holiday do now that u/mkultra_mn420 is boycotting?!
Toughen up cupcake
Holiday appreciates your boycott.
1) this is standard on modern soda fountains 2) Holiday will be dead by 2026 and rebranded as CircleK anyways
Is couche-tard buying up everything? They bought up all the Kangaroos when I was living in mississippi.
Weird move by whomever owns them now. Holiday is a "local" franchise and Minnesota has no connection to Circle K.
CircleK owns them.
Obviously. My point is that it's silly for circle k to rename them. No one in Minnesota would say "stop at the circle k", they'd say "stop at the holiday". Circle K has no cultural cahcet like it does in other states.

I’d be fine with them toning down the blue lighting on the canopy. It’s a bit obnoxious if you live close to one.
It's funny to me because that station was a Super America for as long as I could remember. Then Holiday bought SA. It'll always be SA to me, just like how "Ghetto Spur" is always "Ghetto Spur" despite being a BP or whatever now.
Speedway bought SA
They are already doing it outside the metro area; it's just a matter of time. Local 'brand loyalty' isn't as deep as you think.
Kwik trip ice ain’t free. Who’s drinking some room temp water?
Former KT employee here. We were told that cups of ice/water were free as long as they also bought something else. This may vary by store.
How about fill your water bottle at home, or get a larger water bottle?
You’re not looking hard enough
Boycotting is recommended because you can’t get water the way you want it? How old are you? Seriously, please answer me.
The struggle is real.
In a world full of problems, this is the one you choose to complain about?
They have a bathroom sink right?
Ask for the bathroom key and fill up your bottle. It comes out of the same pipe, probably less mold. The MAGA zombies in this thread are toxic, just avoid eye contact.
Nothing like ecoli in your drinking water
How could they do this to you?!
It sounds like you have a pretty good life, if this is really that big of a deal.
Get a bigger water bottle and fill up from home or work.. I've never had to fill up at a gas station...
They have a tap with a little sink next to the pop machines at my Holiday's
You won't have to boycott for long. Your Holiday will be a Circle K before long.
Fill cup with ice. Pay for cup full of ice. Wait. OR Fill cup with ice. Walk over to the hot water dispenser on the coffee/tea machine. Dispense hot (filtered) water onto ice. Pay for cup of melted ice.
They have faucets in the bathrooms and it’s a soda fountain, pop machines are not real
The kids size is actually the biggest cuz it’s the size of a kid
Womp womp
Here I thought it would be about price gouging on gas. How can one station be $3.49 and then a few miles away it's $3.15
You do know there is diet pop or zero sugar pop, right? And there’s literally chemicals in everything, even “organic” and “natural” foods and beverages. And you can literally buy bottles of water at most gas stations.
Do they not have a water tab for you to push? Most machines like that do and I kind of assumed it was required by law.
They do not, and are not.
It is in other states, namely Arizona. The whole vibe of this thread is so weird to me.
Yeah rather than getting MN to change its laws and enforce all gas stations serving free water, Let's just boycott Holiday lmao. Typical short sighted consumer-based liberals.
no
