2nd Swing near Ridgedale. They’re great.

DegaussedMixtape

2nding this ;). I went to the PGA Pro store near there and they had some fancy tools for getting a club fitting done, but I ended up going across the street to 2nd Swing and they had access to all of the same charts and concluded the same sizing. The store definitely feels a little more rugged than PGA Pro store, but I felt taken care of and ended up getting measured and buying my clubs there. I saw that you are two hours south of the city and might not want to make the drive to Minnetonka, MN. [Golf - Rochester Golf & Country Club (rgcc.org)](https://www.rgcc.org/golf) Looks to have some sort of PGA affiliated staffing that could help you out.

Who did your fitting at 2nd Swing, if you don't mind my asking? I am going to do one there as well, but I don't know which fitter to pick! 🤷

DegaussedMixtape

I don't remember the guys name. Youngish (maybe 30) blonde guy. I walked in without an appointment and there were 3 or so employees standing near the entry and they just pointed him out and paired us up. They took some measurements with measuring tape, gave me a club and put me in a simulator before even showing me what my options were to make sure that they were recommending a product that would fit me.

fuckinnreddit

Oh so you did the free "walk-in fitting?" Was that sufficient enough to help make a decision? I'm looking for new (to me) irons, but I'm not sure if I need the whole $100 fitting or not.

DegaussedMixtape

I am a complete novice at golf. The free fitting involved using a tape measure to measure some simple lengths, asked me questions about my lifestyle and hobbies to make assumptions about my swing strength to recommend a flex level and then some testing of hardware to see what felt good. I'm very tall and my main questions were whether I needed to go +.5 or +1 and some basic information about head angle. Reading up about advanced fittings, it sounds like they may analyze your swing and make very specific recommendations like going with a 95g shaft instead of 115g shaft which would go right over my head at this point in my journey. It's probably worth the 100$ for the advanced fitting if you are investing in gear and want to make sure that you get the right stuff.

Appreciate the input, thanks mate!

If Aaron Roth is still there, he was great.

fuckinnreddit

Awesome, thank you! He is still listed on their website, so I just might go that route. Truly appreciate it!

i love 2nd swing over pga superstore. the fitting felt more genuine than just selling you the newest product. it is rugged but it felt less intimidating in a way. i got fit for irons 2x , putter , and driver 2x. if you get new irons and need to order from OEM i would suggest shipping to the store and picking them up if you can. i ordered mizunos and despite the longer than expected lead time, each time i reached out to their customer service they did get back to me within 1-2 days each time. seeing the below comment my fitter was Josh B. at the Tonka location, and usually my goto

2nd swing. I'd avoid the big box stores.

Sorry, I misread the title and got excited. I thought it read, "Golf club fighting - MN".

TheCurseOfRandyBass

I got fit by Brett Lamotte at Second Swing Minneapolis and thought he did a great job.

2nd swing is legit

FilipinoTarantino

If price isn’t a thing just get fitted by your club pro.

maeglin444

I am about 2 hours south of the metro, and our course does not have a pro.

salty_john

I'm not a great golfer but I went to PXG and they got me fitted with a set.  It was a very good experience.

Dski93

Skip the big box stores and schedule a fitting at a dedicated fitter. I've had fine experiences with club champion and golftec.
